Once again I am running this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived to your house.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santas sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

To see how the previous years' editions of this list have gone, look at these links:

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

Simon's yearly breakdown of games:
**EDIT Just Added** Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2009

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2008

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2007

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2006

[b]New Note (I placed this in the comments section as well): If you have added a "Comment" of your gift receipt, please take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than to place a comment in this section of the receipt of your gift. The actual items being added is how the statistics get accumulated for Simon Hunt's great results list located at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/49122

A good example of how to make an entry useful for this other list is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

Got a nice package in the mail today from gamesurplus. I was excited to see it waiting on my porch when I got home. I received a very nicely written taunt last week from Santa hinting to what was inside. I have been wanting to play this for a long time, but have never gotten around to it. I am sure I will enjoy it.

Also inside was a copy of,Iliad which I have been eyeballing for forever.

Thanks Santa. You really made my day. Hope you have a happy holiday.

Edit to correct typos. Pain in the butt to type all this on my phone.

Santa has brought war to Europe!

Not generally what you associate with the old guy, but perfectly appropriate around here.

Unfortunately, my regular wargaming partner is 2-3 timezones away, so this one may have to sit a while before it hits the table. Still, it's been on my wishlist for about 2 years now, and is one of those perfect gifts in that I probably wouldn't have shelled out the cash for it myself, but I love the idea of owning it.

Thanks a bunch, Santa!

I was wrong and I opened my secret christmas gift. As long it is sealed I will wait and put it under our christmas tree. Will be a hard time.

Yes and it was a really good one - Thank you Santa ! Thank you so much.

And at least I got to know that my santa is a she.

Merry christmas and thanks to all who let make this real.

My Santa hasn't taunted or mailed me at all, but 'lo and behold, a package arrived today from Hit Games in Ottawa!

I eagerly tore open the box to find a gift wrapped game, two packs of candy (Fuzzy Peaches an Sour Patch Kids, tasty!) and a Christmas Card saying "Hope you enjoy the game, Secret Santa".

I resisted opening the package...for about 5 minutes and gave in.

Very happy to find Small World waiting inside! I promise to wait at least 1...2 hours before I play it Santa!

Thank you, completely anonymous Santa! Merry Christmas!

I got my present in the mail today!! and my Secret Santa told me that it is wrapped in the box just in case I had the urge and couldn't wait to open it.

lol Then he/she goes on to say that the "other items" are there to pass the time.

So I ask my brother to help me open it. I had him look in there and I asked him if the contents were wrapped. He told me no. Then I take a look and see that at the bottom of the box there was a wrapped present along with *Drum Rolls*

Bohnanza! I honestly was almost knocked off my feet with surprised. Really I was lol. I litterally accidently deleted this off of my wishlist and I'm glad it wasn't before it was spotted. (I was going to correct it but by the time I spotted it it was Saturdayish)

and

No Thanks! I wanted to dig into this one right away. However no one was interested in that right now. lol (Thanksgiving stuff is what they were interested in) I had this one to.

and

Coloretto! After seeing these three I'm glad I had them on my list. Though I felt bad becasue I shortened it down to make it more decicive lol. (I felt even worse when I found that someone had over 500 items on his wish list, but was really excited and happy knowing that someone saw it first hand!)

And now for the last one which is on the bookshelf waiting to be opened. I plan on getting my tree tomorrow or Friday! One to put on the table though. I always wanted one of those. And the first thing that is going under there is my Secret Santa present!

*****Christmas update!*****
Well, it took a lot of effort but I managed to resist from opening it until this morning and what do I find? Non other than......

Pandemic

Pandemic!! I was so excited to see this one! I can't wait to play it!! Thankyou! !! Thankyou! !! Thankyou! !! Thankyou! !! Thankyou! !! Thankyou!

Yeah my husband I get home and we walk up to our door and thier are two boxes there. My husband asks hey did we order something from Thoughthammer games? I'm like I don't know did you order anything from them. He's like no we did order some other games but oh wait a second this must be from your secret santa.

My husband rushed in the bedroom to open it and peek inside then gloats because he knows what I'm getting. Now he says we have to wait until Christmas for me to find out what I'm getting. We both took part in Secret Santa so I can't wait until his gift shows up so I can find out what it is and rub it in his face that I know what he is getting but he doesn't know.

Thankyou secret santa. My husband said you were extra generous.

Brenda Rose

Christmas Morning came and I opened my games yes there were two of them Secret Santa you were really generous this year. Ticket to Ride Europe which was the top game on my list and Pandemic another one that we played and really enjoy. Tbanks so much.

He also threw in Fairy Tale because he knew how much I missed it and needed a copy back in my collection.

And then just in time for the holidays he included Jungle Speed so I'd have something new to play with the family after turkey! (And after they trim their fingernails )

Thanks!

I received a package today from an online retailer I KNOW I didn't order from. So, I'd say it's here! Santa sent me a geekmail the day after he received my name to let me know that he ordered it. Neat.
Problem is... I don't think the retailer excluded his info from the box. So, I MAY know who he is, but I'm refraining from checking the Geek's database.

12/18
Well, Santa sent me a second package today! WOO! I opened the mailer, as Santa had told me that the contents were wrapped, and behold, 3 more things! WOO!
They remain unwrapped, and likely will until Christmas... unless the coming snow storm keeps us shut in for the weekend.

12/26
Christmas came and passed. I got a lot of great games this year from my family, but I'm MOST impressed by my Secret Santa.

To kick things off, I opened the second package first, which contained 3 wonderful games... two of which I wanted and another I had never heard of, but am pleasantly surprised by:

Very cool. Cthulhu card game. I'm in! My Santa put some thought into this one. I've never heard of it before, but I love it! Can't wait to play!

I fell in love with Lunch Money in the late nineties. I've used it as a gateway game ever since. I've wanted Beer Money for a few years now when I found out about it.

A wonderful ArtsCow printing of Free Trader! What a neat game. I'm so glad to have this!

But, to top it all off... something I've wanted for a few Christmas' now... to be honest, I thought my wife would have gotten the hint these past few years, but she never has... glad my Santa did!

Now my TTR collection is almost complete! I am SOO happy to have this! We play a lot of TTR 3 player and USA 1910 Big Cities is the only way to go... until now!

THANK YOU SO MUCH SANTA!!!

So I was away from work on a weekend getaway with my wife (celebrating our 12th anniversary!) & unbeknownst to me, a gaming package had arrived at my work during the day on Friday (we had left Thursday evening). I was blissfully unaware of this fact, until coming home last night to a geekmail from "Santa" advising me of the successful delivery... probably the first time I've been so excited to get to work in the morning (and to think it had been sitting on my desk all weekend)! shake

Opened the package as soon as I arrived & spent the day debating about whether to open it or not (I had promised myself I'd wait until Christmas)... I compromised & waited until I came home, where my kids "twisted my arm" to open my presents (didn't actually need much twisting)! devil

Super excited to find a copy of Pandemic, which has been high on my wishlist for some time now! But not only that, also
Power Grid: France/Italy

(Power Grid is one of my favourite games)!

Thank you Santa (and sorry I had so little willpower to wait... it's my kids' fault, I swear)! ninja

My Secret Santa must of got a good stimulus package from the government for he sent me a big box. Well, first off I couldn't wait for Christmas for I am an impatient gamer. I opened the box and it was filled with packing peanuts. I dug through and the first game was,

Munchkin

Under that was

Amun-Re

And under that was

Arkham Horror: Innsmith Horror

And finally under that was

Blue Moon City

I will be busy playing games for quite some time to come. Well first I have to punch out all the tiles and pieces and bag them, then I will play.

EDIT: I have gotten 3 games of 2 player Blue Moon City in and my fiancée has beaten me every time now.

I got home last night to find a large box on my front porch. I was surprised to see that my Secret Santa package arrived so quickly. After pondering for a few seconds if I should wait for Christmas (who am I kidding?) I gleefully tore open the box to discover "1960: The Making of the President", one of my favorite games, which I've been wanting to own for a long time. I'm a big fan of the theme thanks to having read Theodore H. White's "The Making of the President: 1960" when the game first came out to learn more about the history.

But that wasn't all. My secret santa impressed me greatly by including Chicago Express as well!

These are two games I've been wanting for a long time. Now I get to count votes and build railroads simultaneously. I can't wait to see if Nixon's B&O and beat the Kennedy PRR machine! (Guess we'll have to see if late dividends from Cook County make all the difference)

Another note. The game was shipped through CLS Games in Atlanta. The box had a very nice "From your Secret Santa" sticker on the box. What a nice touch!

I received a taunt from my SS that a package was on the way, and that I was welcome to open it when it arrived. For some reason my leasing company decided to just take Friday and Monday off; UPS was about to give up and not deliver the package! Jerks.

But, determined, I went to the local UPS facility and retrieved the package there! A surprise box from Troll and toad, with this and DVONN in the same box!

The second gift from my secret santa! My GIPF games are all sitting together, and becoming fast friends; soon I'll have to start considering the aggregated game! Thank you, secret Santa!

I received no taunts from my Secret Santa, just a cryptic email from one of his "assistants" (CLS Games in Atlanta) that a package was on the way from my BGG Secret Santa. Well, I eagerly tracked the package, and it arrived today! I had asked the Santa if I should wait or not, but got no reply, so I decided to dig in. Inside were Galaxy Trucker: The Big Expansion and Battle Line! Not only are both great games, but they were two of the three games rated "Must Haves" on my WishList. Secret Santa, taunts or no, you went way beyond what I expected or deserved. I hope you get at least as good as you gave me, if not better. Merry Christmas!!!!!

Christmas EVE:

Oh my goodness, oh my goodnes, oh my goodness. I have the absolutely most bestest secret santa in the entire known universe and then some. Holy cool presents batman this is so awesome. Finally it was Christmas Eve, and I could open my present. I was so excited I don't know how I made it through 10 hours of work. And then my wifes family was over when I got home and then we went to church, and i'm so excited I am babbling. Finally 11:30 at night we get home. My secret Santa said I could open it on Christmas Eve. So...I (being a gentleman) let my wife open it. A beautiful brown box full of packing peanuts. So I hold the bag and my wife starts scraping peanuts & then starts telling me to hold the bag because I am so excited i'm not catching any peanuts! Cause I just saw
. Like 3 years ago I was at my first ever "game day" and well I got the opportunity to play RA and enjoyed it immensly. (I did very poorly also) I had to have it. But it was out of print and unavailable. So I dreamed and played RA on the computer, and hoped. Then it was in print, but circumstances were just not my friend. Then Secret Santa just made me the happiest man in the whole house. (I'm guessing city but we only have a population of 1025 so there isn't a lot of competition)

But then just as I was recovering from my delight (okay I haven't fully recovered) I notice a game I had given up hope on...

I haven't played this one. But have coveted it from afar, always barely talking myself out of buying it until it was no longer on the shelf. But I love the concept of destroying an island, and save your people without other people knowing who your peopel are. And it's in my life for real. Oh my gosh I have the absolute most fantastic secret santa in the entire world. And I still have one more box I get to open on Christmas day proper. I don't know if my heart can stand so much joy.

CHRISTMAS DAY

WOW, so...I had not thought what could be awaiting me. I was so amazed and excited last night. I am SO VERY GLAD that I waited until Christmas day to open this gift. My Secret Santa (the best in the entire history of the universe) gave me my childhood in the form of a game I thought lost to time:

That's right Sub Search a game from when I was a kid, that my brothers and I played to peices. (almost literally) and even after used the peices to make up our own battle games. Memories and fun. And the game was practically unpunched. It couldnt' have been played becuase most of the levels were still in the sprues. It came with a fantastic hand written note from Secret Santa telling and I am a very fantastically happy man.

THANK YOU secret santa.

Old News:
My daghter is involved with Rainbow Girls (a masonic organization for teenage girls. she gets that from her mother I'm not much of a joiner.) Anyway, the girls are doing a charity thing where they give cabbage patch dolls for children who are getting prostetics. So that the dolls can undergo the same surgeory (to help the kids understand and not be as scared.) and wind up with matching prostetics. So on Monday my wife sees the UPS truck show up and says excitedly "My dolls are here." Much to her suprise it was not dolls, but a shipment from a game retailer. She gives me a "wife look" (not the good one) And I jump to respond that it was from secret santa, and show her This geekmail:
Santa wrote:
Your first box is on it's merry way. No peaking 'till Christmas eve.

But better yet there was a secondary geekmail telling my I was getting my box that day (he really does see me when I am sleeping) and there was a 2nd one that had the mrs. Clause stamp of "you better get me one also!" So I am very excited. But my wife decided I needed help with the "no peaking until christmas eve" so my package is hidden in her office, and I get to be all excited and curious for a month. Thank you Santa, This is so much fun so far. I can't wait until I get to see what it is.

ps. The game box office is just because that is where the box is.

Thanks a lot Secret Santa from Virgina!

Got mine early this year. And guess what? I got two games! The other one is the Pandemic: On the Brink Expansion that hopefully is compatible with my German base game of Pandemic.

Now I need to call the guys and get them together for the next gaming night.
