Once again I am running this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived to your house.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santas sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present!

I don't know about anyone else, but I generally obsess about whether a package has arrived at it's intended destination. I drive my wife crazy with checking tracking numbers constantly! So it will be nice to see when those gifts are actually received by the giftee (or are they just sitting unclaimed on the neighbor's porch?)

To see how the previous years' editions of this list have gone, look at these links:

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

Simon's yearly breakdown of games:
**EDIT Just Added** Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2009

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2008

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2007

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2006

[b]New Note (I placed this in the comments section as well): If you have added a "Comment" of your gift receipt, please take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than to place a comment in this section of the receipt of your gift. The actual items being added is how the statistics get accumulated for Simon Hunt's great results list located at http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/49122

A good example of how to make an entry useful for this other list is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

I got a message from my Secret Santa almost a week ago informing me that my gift had just been dropped at a post office in Maine. A tracking number accompanied the note, so of course I kept the tracking window open and hit refresh 8 times a day. . . but like a geek on his first time participating in a Secret Santa (very fitting, in this case), I began checking the mail daily starting the very next day. No, the tracking number didn't tell me the gift would be here yet, but I didn't care! I was too excited.

Well this morning before heading out to school, I hit refresh on the tracking number and, lo! It said the game had arrived in Austin at 6:30am! It was 11am at this point, and the mail carrier tends to come to my apartment complex pretty early, so I ran down to the mailbox to see if it had made it onto the delivery truck. It had! Hooray!

I picked up the box from the office, ran back to my apartment (instead of heading to the bus like I should have laugh ), and opened the box up immediately.

I veeeeeeery carefully pried the wrapping paper off (ha! ha!) of the board-game sized box inside (my Santa told me I could! and besides, it's the first night of Chanukah tonight, so I was really only a few hours early ). Inside I found the classic Tigris & Euphrates! I've had this on my wishlist for a long time, but in the several years since I've started buying a lot of games, I just never picked it up. I kept seeing some new, shiny game that nobody in my group had played yet and picking it up instead. Well now I finally have it! The best part is that because I never picked it up before, I've got the new version with the 2-sided board in the box as well

So thanks, Santa, for filling in this gap in my collection! I hope your Santa treats you (or has treated you) as well as you have treated me! My gift will undoubtedly see many plays in my house. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some punching and bagging to do

Happy holidays!

My Secret Santa was awesome. He tormented me with geekmail that had subjects that led me on.

There are/were 5 packages. One was filled with big dice. Since Bloodbowl likes huge dice I tore into that package and was not disappointed.

The others I kinda had hints on but they remain unopened.
2 feel like card sleeves so im hoping that I got Dominionthumbsup. The other seems to be just a board so I might have scored a nuclearPowergridnuclear expansion.

Anyways, hes been a lot of fun and I'm already completely delighted with my experience. You should all be so lucky.

damian

I did get Dominion!!!
He pimped out my Agicola even more!!!
Now I can play on MARS!!!!

Again, you should all be so lucky. I had a fine fine Secret Santa!

It just arrived Thursday...

well at that time I didn't know what it was of course I just had a note in my mail box saying...: "an old bearded men dressed in red tried to give that to you but as his sleigh drove too fast we controlled him and two out of six reindeer were amazingly drunk... he tried to explain us that Alcohol was the only way for them to survive while travelling at 10000 feet high… So we will be controlling the recent escapees from asylum for the next hours… Your package will await you at the post office…"

Poor Secret Santa, I hope he managed to escape them and deliver Rudolf and Friends from the zoo…

I went to the post office this morning and discovered that enormous and heavy box… Opening it, I had a nicely wrapped box… so I waited for my girlfriend to wake up so we could open it together (yeah we're both impatient geeks)… and What a surprise! ninja Middle earth Quest sauron !! I really didn't expect it!! Awesome!! It was on top of my list, and I can't wait to read the rules and try it out!! Hopefully I'll get it on the table next Saturday (I do have a report to do for work this week end cry so I'll have to hold it…)!! So in a word (or two…):

THANK YOU so much Secret Santa for the marvellous gift and the taunting and riddles and all… you made it a special event (it was my first time Secret-Santaing and you definitely can count me in next year!!) great!! I wish you a very merry Christmas to you and your family and too all the other geeks as well!!

Cheers

Nick

I was so excited when my package arrived on wednesday. Although the packaging wasn't the best in my opinion. Inside it was a nicely wrapped up gift and a christmas card. I tried to be patient and keep it wrapped until christmas, but my boyfriend "convinced" me to just open it now

And inside was the expansion of Agricola, in Dutch !!! whoohooo. I didn't even know it was released yet, but apparently my secret santa had good contacts here in the Netherlands Anyway I'm very happy with it, and can't wait to give the game a go!Thank you very much secret santakiss

Not only did I get this wonderful new game, which I am extremely grateful for!!
I also received an expansion map to Power Grid AND!!! AND! another expansion map to Power Grid, but wait... could that be? yes, it is the collectible box/expansion map to store all of my expansion maps in!

Amazingly, without my current expansion maps being listed on the things I own section, my Secret Santa was able to send only the maps I didn't already have... it's magical!

Thank you Santa!

Wowza.

Just got this in the mail... I was just at the FLGS the other day comparing my wish list to the prices of the games on the shelves and trying to figure out what I might get from my Secret Santa. Small World was ruled out on the "probably too expensive" side.

Thank you Secret Santa whoever you are, for the amazing and generous gift... can't wait to crack this one open and give it a whirl!

My first year involved in the Secret Santa and I'm already feeling the love and joy. What a great community.

I get so excited about the BGG secret Santa. Every afternoon this month, I have called my wife to see if my package has arrived. Everyday, my wife gave me an exasperated "No." Yesterday, we had to go to a function for my kids, when we got home there was a package on our porch - Yippee! I decided that I was going to wait to open the package until Christmas. But I couldn't contain myself so this morning I ripped into the box and unwrapped the three packages contained within:

First, there was a copy of

Castle Panic

This game is high on my list and I am super excited to break this out today and play with my family.

Second, there was a copy of

Ghost Stories: White Moon

Third, there was a little package which contained the Ghost Stories: The Village People Expansion.

I have only played Ghost Stories a couple of times but have loved my experiences. I am ready to get this one to the table as well.

Thanks a bunch Secret Santa!

Christmas came earlier this year in Rio de Janeiro!

Yesterday, coming back home from one of those oh-so-fine days at work, I found a big box at my front door. Since I couldn't resist and my Santa had previously authorized me, I opened it and found inside it...

Jet Set

and

Chiken Cha Cha Cha

I have such a great Santa!

Thank you so much. I'm sure my family and I will have a lot of fun around the gifts you sent us. Merry Christmas, Santa!

I recieved my Game along with 3 of the booster decks yesterday.

I debated about opening it up, and my wife said I should wait until Christmas so it sat under the tree overnight. But when I heard how excited my recipient was to get their gift I decided not to deny my Santa the pleasure of hearing about me getting my gift. (Nice how you can justify anything if you want to.)

Anyway, I am excited to add this game to my collection and being a big fan of the good Doctor Knizia makes it even better. My wife likes Knizia games as well so it is a perfect fit for both of us.

I popped it open and read the rules and can't wait to get it to the table.

And on top of it all my SS says he is sending me another package! I really lucked out this year (my first, and not my last!).

Thanks a lot Santa, I wish I knew who you were so I could thank you in "person".

Merry Christmas!

This is my very first year participating in the BGG Secret Santa event. I only joined BGG earlier this year, and in those early days I remember finding out through browsing personal profiles that there was such a thing as the Secret Santa event. I thought this was a fantastic idea! And the fact that such a large community would participate in this event was a refreshing and fabulous departure from the rest of the internet. So I was desperately anticipating the arrival of this year's SS program and joined as soon as I could.

Well, I did finally receive a gift from my BGG Secret Santa! It arrived from Boards and Bits in great shape, and I couldn't be more pleased!

I got a game that I had been dying to play. I almost bought it on a couple of separate occasions, but I was holding out just in case the old Secret Santa had it in his bag of goodies. And I was right!

So my wife and I sat down and punched the tokens last night and put them all inside the trays, and now the game is sitting on the table, primed, awaiting our first foray into Small World.

I can't wait.

Santa has been around. When I returned from the company xmas lunch (a bit late in the day) there was a package in the hallway for me. From Sweden, and as my Santa wrote a couple of days ago, something was coming my way. I opened the box, and when I saw the presents (yes, more than one ;-)) were wrapped in paper, I put them on the drawer, and resolved to let them stay there until Cristmas Eve (which is when we celebrate cristmas in Denmark). But my youngest son lured me into temptation, first picking the smallest of the gifts, and asking if we could open the just this one.

We did, and it contained Zombie in My Pocket - and it was very nicely produced - even with a blood stained die for tracking life. We had a couple of games, and it seems good fast fun.

He also succeeded in making me open the two other presents (okay - it wasn't hard to make me see sense). And my generous Santa also sent me Red November (Coops are very nice to play with the 10 year old) and finally I was surprised and happy to also receive Gheos, a game I hope will be Carcasonne's successor.

Thanks a lot Santa, and thank you for the sweets as well. I am really happy about the games, and look very much forward to getting them played. (Og tak til din svenske hjælper)

Finally after almost one long month of painful waiting and waivering faith in whether anything would ever come, it arrived!

A worn and battered UPS box finally made it to my door all the way from... Taiwan! And thanks to international customs stuff no more Secret Santa for us. But that's okay.

My wife generously offered to check inside to see if it was wrapped. Turns out it wasn't! Oh well I guess Christmas came early! No more waiting!

Sadly my ever generous wife also offered to wrap it for me... Oh, great.. Thanks... Just cause your Secret Santa present is wrapped...

So here's my nicely wrapped present just waiting for me to rip into it on Christmas day. It's not an overly large box but it has a good heft to it. Feels like it's packed to the brim with gaming goodness. My wife assures me it's a game I really want and also that my Santa got it for a really good price compared to Australian stores (well done Santa!)

But now I have to wait for another 12 days... In the words of the great Inigo Montoya:

"I hate waiting..." cry

EDIT: Merry Christmas!!!

And finally the waiting is over. Ripping open my little package I found what should be an absolute gem of a game!

I've been wanting to expand my Civ building game collection and this one was high on my list. Thanks heaps Santa!

Sadly I still had a bit more waiting to go after opening it as I had to visit relatives and get through the Christmas formalities but now I'm home and it's high time I gave this game it's first playing!

Merry Christmas to all!!!

EDIT: Post Christmas Day

Well Roll Through the Ages has already made my 5's list for this year! Making it toi the Dimes is a distinct possibility too. It's a great game and I know that it's going to get plenty of use for a while to come. Pretty sure the gaming group are going to like this one too! Thanks again Santa!

Without warning, and with no apparent regret, Ninja Claus struck today. On my porch, with no warning, like a blow dart to the neck, was a package from Boards & Bits. I was on my way out, so opening it had to wait.

When I came home, I put it in my lap and thought about opening it. I opened it slowly. I hadn't had any confirmation on whether I was on the naughty or nice list, so I wasn't sure what to expect. A game, or maybe some nefarious coal spewing trap? Certain I deserve the latter, I cautiously peeled back the box flaps....

What??? Surely some sort of clerical error in my favor! On the top of the box were the following:

AND

And beneath that there was no trap at all, but instead:

But the Ninja Claus is a devious soul. My son walked around the corner and asked what I got. I showed him Fits, then the Small World expansions. The trap was sprung! Small World is one of his favorite games, and he let out a banshee yell of excitement that probably terrified people 2 blocks down! My ears are still ringing!

Thank you thank you THANK YOU Santa Claus! I've played Fits a few times and REALLY enjoyed it. I know I can get my wife and son to the table to play, but that one might even draw in my daughter, which would be a Christmas miracle! And what can I say? I'm a big fan of Small World, and I've been looking forward to getting the expansions!

THANKS SANTA, AND HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

My not so Secret Santa sent BasketBoss and a copy of Counter Magazine, the reading of which has alerted me to the presence of some games I might like that had slipped my radar.

Thank you, Santa.

I knew I had a special Santa from the messages we exchanged. But I really knew my SS was special when I recieved the package yesterday. I got a UPS notification from a boardgame store that didn't look familiar. After checking with the Mrs, I had to guess that it was from the SS. 7 lbs it said. I knew I had been naughty, but 7 lbs of coal seemed a lot.

First, I discovered my number 1 wish, Factory Manager. Can't wait to break this one out.

Then I found one I've been meaning to check out for a while...

Ra. Another one I can't wait to give a spin.

Thanks so much for being so awesome, Santa!

I had my Secret Santa gift sent to my wife, as the Army has me stationed away from home yet again. I was home last weekend and able to pick up my gift.

My wife un-boxed and wrapped it for me, to preserve the surprise. Only 13 more days and I can open it up and see what I got!

Thanks Santa. I can't wait!

Update.
I opened up my game Christmas morning to find Herr der Ziegen, one of my most wanted games. I've played Kupferkessel Co. before and liked it, so I wanted to give this a try as I understood this was similar in mechanics. Plus, who can resist goat-meeples?

Thanks again Santa.

So Santa tells me Rudolph helped wrap my gifts and apologizes for the shoddy work but if that's his shoddy work, I'd be blown away by his good work and generosity! Each was wrapped beautifully in shiny metallic blue paper and came with a very pretty card!!

It also came with

and

Hive has been on my list a long while and I'm anxious to see if I can con the person next to me on the plane home for the holidays into playing it

The other two I've played (though not on my list) but not for a while so I'm anxious to use my gaming experience on them since I last played!

So a big Thank you Santa!! for such a lovely and generous load!

Oh, hi Secret Santa.

Just checking in. Nothing new. Nope. Just writing to let you know that I got some nice cookies today. No milk yet. Nope, no milk. Present's arrived. Yup. Looks pretty under the tree. Nice red and white striped paper. Nice card too. Yup. Really nice. So nice to have a Secret Santa and get a nice wrapped gift. Yup
.

Okayokayokay... I caved! I had a moment of weakness! I shook my package and I couldn't figure out the clunk-rattle-rattle noise!

I love you Secret Santa!

I love the map, I love the deck of cards, I love the little dice. I love the 400 counters. I love Spartacus! Well, not love Spartacus. Of course, he might have been into that. We'll never know. Uhhhh...

Did I mention the cookies?

WOW I didn't know just how good I had been!
My Secret Santa was very generous and for that I thank whomever you are. I am extremely grateful for the games (yes GAMES) that you sent.

I cracked open that package that the delivery Elf dropped off today and once I sifted through all of those beautiful Christmas packing peanuts I not only found Warhammer: Invasion bit I also found a copy of Memoir '44: Operation Overlord nestled up next to it!

There was also a nice touch of some Christmans M&Ms and decorations added in as well.

Thank you whomever you are!
