Rules for MagnaCon 2010 No Ship Math Trade: (A no ship math trade in Denver, Colorado.)
1. To participate you must either:
a) Be attending MagnaCon 2010 ( www.magnacondenver.com) as a paid guest or a volunteer -OR- b) Be participting via an "agent" (a friend who is attending through criteria "a" described above) *AND* make a $5 donation to MagnaCon. (Donations can be made via www.magnacondenver.com and will be followed up on.)
*Before complaining about Rule #1, please consider that MagnaCon is a charity convention with 100% of proceeds benefitting local charities. It is running with nearly 100% no overhead due to the hard work of our volunteers AND is the most affordable convention in Denver... a weekend pass is only $15 if you buy online and that includes unlimited gaming. Your $5 contribution is worthwhile here.
2. All trade items must be listed on this geeklist NO LATER THAN 12:00PM MST (noon) on Sunday, January 10th, 2010. Exceptions cannot be made.
3.List your game accurately and completely. See example. Any sweeteners or packaged items should be in the comments of the trade game. If there are any notes as to the condition of the items, please make them abundantly clear in your listing. (Unless otherwise noted, it will be assumed that your item is in "gently used" condition. If there is box damage, if there are pieces missing, or any other negative conditions of note... list them. If the item is still in shrink, has not been punched, is signed, or of any other positive condition of note... state that.)
4. Once the trade item entries are closed, enter your wants NO LATER THAN 9:00PM MST on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010. No exceptions. (Please note that if you are new to math trades, it is advised you do not wait until the last minute to do this. It is very likely that assistance may not be available and you may miss the deadline should any last minute questions crop up. Many of us will be tied up in getting ready for MagnaCon.)
Wants should be entered via the OLWLG. For information on how to use this tool, go here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/OLWLG *At this time, the OLWLG entry for the MagnaCon 2010 No Ship Math trade is pending. This header will be updated once it is live.
5. Final results will be posted no later than 9:00AM MST on Friday, January 15th.
6. All games must be delivered to the MagnaCon registration desk no later than 12:00PM on Saturday, January 16th 2010, where they can be signed in with the Math Trade Coordinator (Scot Livingston) and from where they can be picked up. (If you are participating via an agent (see #1b) please sure that your items are labeled with your name and the recipient's name.)
(If your "agent" is Scot Livingston himself, you lucky dog! You will be able to make arrangements for your games to be picked up or dropped off. Please do not discuss those arrangements on this geeklist... but also do not forgot to make your donations promptly. www.magnacondenver.com We know where you game!)
7. By participating, you are agreeing to abide by the above rules and you agree to allow the Trade Maximizer software determine the outcome of this trade. (No member of the MagnaCon staff, nor other human, has influence on deciding who gets what. For more info on how a math trade works in general, go here to http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/93555/math-trade-guide.)
Any questions can be directed to: magnacondenver@gmail.com directly for promptest reply. Comments to this geeklist are also acceptable but may not be immediately visible to the Math Trade Coordinator.
Finally, should you decide that you do not wish to keep games that do not make it into the math trade (this happens when there is not enough interest in a game for the software to find the right matches), please consider donating the game to the Whittier Community Center's game library or to the silent auction/raffle. Of course, you can also do so with the final product of your math trade, but we suspect you will choose not to. Email magnacondenver@gmail.com for more info on donations.

Assuming I haven't done anything stupid and blown up the whole thing, we should be ready to put in our wants. PLEASE have them ready by Wednesday the 13th (of Januray) at 9:00pm Mountain Standard Time. If you don't know how - well... look it up. If that doesn't help send me a message, and I'll try and help you out. But try and let me know as soon as possible.
After the deadline, I will run the super-duper Trade Maximizer and we'll all find out what we'll get. Thanks for all of your support and the wonderful donations and happy hunting to all of you. I look forward to seeing you at the convention.
