I love the wide rage of photography on BGG and this is your chance to show off your best!
This is the 2009 Picture of the Year contest.
How to submit an image? Just add a geeklist item, where it asks for a ImageID add the number of your photo there. Use [imageid=xxxxxx medium] in the body of the List Entry, where "xxxxxx" is the ImageID number, to show the image at a reasonable size as that helps people judge your image better, and make sure to remove the space. If you have questions please geekmail me and I will help.
Rules: This rule set comes from the Monthly Photo Contest run by gamephotos.
1) You can only submit a single entry with only one image in it.
2) That image has to be one of your own. If you like Laura Foobar's picture of dogs playing Die Macher, ask her to submit it.
3) The image was uploaded during the 2009 year.
4) Images from your User Gallery are not eligible, but images from any other Gallery that has successfully passed the image modding process are eligible - Game, Designer or Publisher.
5) Users may vote for (give a thumb up to) as many entries as they wish.
6) You may not offer any kind of inducement/bribe to users in return for their vote(s). If in doubt, err on the side of caution as I will be taking a strict line on this issue.
7) Winners will be declared January 22nd to give enough time for all to participate.
8) In case of a tie, the prize will be split equally among all the tied people.
9) I will order this list so that newer uploaded images will appear first, so that the first-come first-thumbed effect is lessened.
10) Whatever tips this list receives will go toward the winners of this contest. 50% will go toward the top picture, and the remaing 50% will be shared the 2nd and 3rd place.
Prizes Three will be awarded:
First place: 150 plus - Picture of the Year - 1st place Second place: 75 plus - Picture of the Year - 2nd place Third place: 50 plus - Picture of the Year - 3rd place
You will also earn any tips made to this list!
***There will also be 10 random 15 awards for participation so make sure you enter***
Thanks for your participation and may the best photo of 2009 win!

I think, the "pic of the year" should rather be something "general" than "the best shot of a special situation in a certain game" - so I throw in my "bravehearted meeple" I discovered in my Carc set.

Most of my pictures are from miniatures gaming, but I really do like the way this one turned out.

I was lucky enough to be the first 'Geek with a camera to receive this one. Got some good shots, too.
I think this is technically the best of the batch, even though I personally prefer the one of the Trogs ...

I didn't submit too many pictures last year and this one is the only one "creative", that isn't related to a specific game.
It represents the "Proposal Cake" that I gave my girlfriend. It says: "Do you want to be my wife?"
There is also the image I have created and which was put on the cake, for comparison. The letters are from the titles of the games we own.

I'll throw my entry in. This one is my favorite image I made of the year, though it wasn't my most popular. For me this photo marked a major step in learning photoshop. I was always envious of other peoples shots of them playing themselves at board games and it was really exciting to learn how to do it myself.
Unfortunately, I loaded this image to my profile on the National Association of Photoshop Professionals site and one of the comments I got was, "I love how you made the guy on the right look heavier!"

Even if it doesn't get a prize, I am just so proud of my (then) 12 year-old daughter, Agnes, for taking the time and trouble to learn this great game and play it with her dear old Dad.

This one warms my heart whenever I look at it. It was a Christmas surprise we sprung on boardgame night [actually, we hadn't finished cutting it out yet, so we enlisted our guests ]. But it was a lot of fun trading gingerbread men and reindeer and what have you.

This was by far my most-thumbed picture from 2009. However, I probably would have chosen it even if it had received zero thumbs. Yes, my wife approved it before I submitted it for this contest.
I know Twilight Imperium isn't eveyone's thing, but for me this picture sums up 2009 in board gaming perfectly. It not only reminds me of all the time I spent enjoying board games with family and friends, but it also captures the anticipation of plenty of games with old and new family and friends in 2010 and beyond.

I was originally going to submit the picture I took of the whole board, but I decided this shot of Molasses swamp was less busy and an overall cleaner photo.
