Welcome everyone to the February 2010 Edition of the Geekgold for Game Lottery. Thanks Blott for the amazing Idea and thanks everyone who took part all these times.
These are the Rules
How to bid for an item? If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning: 1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game. 2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item.
How to put an item on the lottery? If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold: 1. Post it as an item on the list. 2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box 3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much. 4. Specify when your item will close for entries. 5. You can post both RPG Items and Boardgames. 6. The item must be draw before 28th of February 2010
What to do when the lottery ends? 1. When closed, draw a random name from those that have tipped your entry. If you allowed multiple entries remember to take it in consideration. 2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game. 3. Send them the game. 4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that. 5. When an item is closed I will move it to the bottom of the list. Please don't delete them
How to find the winner? You can use any fair method you like, like putting the names on a hat and drawing it. But there are two favored methods.
1. First we have the Original Awesome Tool. Created by jeromier. It is very simple to use, but can only deal with one type of bonus (X bonus GG for each Y GG tipped) and limit the amount of tip.
2. Second we have the Copycat Awesome Tool created by yours truly. It can deal with any amount of items drawn on your listing, and any kind of bonus calculation that deals with the tip values only (and a few others). The rolls are trackable for anyone to see, and you can use it anytime to check how many tips and the winning percentage of everyone. It has a few statistics which I'm improving on. The only thing is that for an item to use it, it must be inserted by me, and that takes about 1 or 2 days, usually.
Special notes Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!
Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.
Winners and Drawn Items Subscribe to the Subscription thread. I update it (usually) daily, and there you can find a list of new items, and the winners list of all the lists we run so far.

Quote: micropul is a strategic & tactical tile-laying game in which players are scientists trying to extract precious micropul matter from an energy core.
The game can be played as a solitaire puzzle or competitively.
Each player has a hand of tiles they must play optimally to keep a flow of new tiles coming in and if possible keep aside some tiles in a supply stack that will be worth more points at the end of the game. Drawing new tiles is done by activating catalysts, this part is very tactical.
During the game, groups of micropul of the same color will get formed. These groups can be claimed and will be worth a lot of points if they are closed at the end of the game. This is the strategic part.
Winning is done by balancing the tactical and strategic part.
You get to pick any one of the 4 sets I have shown above. All will come fully cut out, ready to play with a pocketmod rulebook and the 3 tokens needed per player. Game tiles are laser printed and mounted to chipboard.
1 GG = 1 Entry Bonus: If the winning entry is 10 or more Geekgold, I'll print you up ANY one of the 10+ redesigns on the micropul page.

I'm putting up a new and unplayed copy of my Ogre Castle game. It's a self-published little game that's great for the entire family and it has been getting good reviews here on BGG. The Dice Tower's family-game reviewer Mark Zielinsky gave it a glowing review in episode #156 and, in episode #164 part 1, Mark named it as his "Best Surprise Game" of 2009. If you're looking for an enjoyable way to spend the evening with your family, this it the perfect solution.
I'll run this lottery until 8:00am Pacific Time on February 14th and then draw the winner ASAP as a Valentine's Day surprise.
1GG = 1 Entry and you may enter as often as you like.
I will pay for shipping to anywhere in the world.
I will use the random generators at Random.com to select the winner.
LOTTERY BONUS #1: If the GeekGold tips get to 250 I will choose a BONUS winner right away and that person will win an official Ogre Castle Mug. This winner will still be eligible to win the game when the lottery ends on Feb 14th.
The mug features a full wrap-around design with the Ogre and his gems on the left, the Knights ready to storm the castle on the right, and a close-up of the Red Knight's gate room in the center. With this mug holding your morning brew you'll be the envy of every Ogre on the block.
The winner of the Ogre Castle Mug is

LOTTERY BONUS #2: Every person who enters the lottery will receive a URL where they can purchase a copy of Ogre Castle and receive a FREE Ogre Castle Booster Deck with new spells to torment the Ogre and annoy your fellow Knights. The URL will be geekmailed to the entrants at the close of the Lottery.

This lottery is not for the game but for a University of Catan T-Shirt.
It is a high quality (thick) black shirt with the Catan logo on it. Size 2X (XXL). Click on the picture to see a higher resolution image.
The shirt is brand new, never been worn, but has been sitting in a closet for a few years so it's a little bit dusty. You were going to wash it before wearing it anyway, right?
One bonus entry for every 5 you tip.
1 = 1 entry 5 = 6 entries 10 = 12 entries etc.
I will ship it free to anywhere.
Drawing will take place the evening of Feb. 28th.

BIG BOX OF NERD STUFF! ONE DAY LEFT! CLOSED
I'm pulling an UndeadViking and downsizing my various nerd stuff. So, this auction is for one largish box of nerd stuff. I've displayed Age of Gods because that is the one thing in the box that I will openly declare to be in the box (it's a new in-shrink copy). Everything else will be a mix of additional games, DVDs, RPGs, books, comics, action figures, whatever. All I will guarantee is that it will be nerdy and that it will be decent stuff and not total crap.
As the GG gets higher, I'll put in more and more stuff and upgrade to a larger and larger box, and I'll try to give primacy to games over other things as the GG merits it because, duh, game website.
This will be a hefty box, so shipping will be free to Canada at 150gg, free to the USA at 300gg, and free anywhere in the world at 500gg (although it will be ship post, because air post is ludicrously expensive - foreign bidders interested in splitting costs may opt for air post). Otherwise I'll split costs.
1gg = 1 entry 5gg = 6 entries 20gg = 30 entries
Auction closes February 28th.
With a total of 20 geekgold tipped, which gave him\her a 3.52% chance of victory, congratulations to

Looking for a playtester/editor/translator for your cool new game? Contact us, we're free (but we ask to be mentioned in the acknowledgements, and a copy of the game would be a nice gesture, but not necessary).
======================================================================== "Undead Viking! Undead Viking! Where are you? Oh, there you are. Undead Viking, I saw Howiter_120mm's stable, and there they were, four white horses. And I thought, there are four of us, if we ever find Sunshiny. Hello, Sunshiny! So I took them with me, in case we ever bumped into each other. I guess we just did."
"Sol, you did something right."
"Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head." ========================================================================
You love your lady, right? She's not so much into games, eh? Same here. Well, you can either bring her four white horses (hardly convenient), or you can put down this game, and watch her turn all gamer-girl on you.
This is how it happened in my house:
"My lovely lady, I would love to play a game." "My dear husband, I'm not interested." *Put The Princess Bride: Storming the Castle on the table.* "There's a shortage of perfect couples games in this world. 'Twould be a pity not to play this one." "Oh Westley! I mean...Jeremiah." ========================================================================
Condition Complete, played. The box has a bit of shelfwear, but the cards are in great shape. The character standees are a bit loose, but that's how they were produced. They still work, but you might want to glue them.
Shipping Shipping is free to the US. Shipping is free to anyone that tips 20 or more . Shipping is free, worldwide, when this auction reaches 300 .
Closing Time This lottery will close on February 18th.
Rules for Entry Each Geek Gold will count as 1 entry. Every 5 gets one bonus entry. If the winner has tipped 20+ as noted above, shipping is free, even if it doesn't reach the free shipping cutoff. If the winner has tipped 20+ they will also receive a bonus (little) game, which will be revealed as soon as I get around to it. If the winner has tipped 50+ they will receive -another- bonus (little) game, and another winner will be chosen to get (Insert Game Here, Jeremiah), and the new winner will have the 50+ tipper to thank.
I'll note that I didn't get Undead Viking, Sunshiny, Sol, or Howitzer_120mm's permission to use them in my story. I hope they find me funny, not offensive. If I'm actually offensive, just let me know, and I'll take that bit down.
EDIT: I'll be using Sol's tool, because it worked so well for me before. That is, unless I've offended him, and then I'll still use the tool, I'll just be sneaky.

Congratulations! You'll be getting a geekmail momentarily. ---------------- Step right up, step right up! Here's another wonderful auction for your amusement and amazement!
I have up for auction a brand new copy of Cranium Turbo edition! It's so new it hasn't even been played! I have opened the box to check the contents, but I didn't even remove them!
Really, I just want more GeekGold to spend on these here fine auctions, and maybe get rid of this piece of junk awesome game!
I know that everyone will be wanting this, but, as the game is heavy and big and heavy, I must put in some stipulations on shipping: -I will ship anywhere, the winner pays shipping. -If the bidding goes over 50 GG, I will ship free to the United States. -If the bidding goes over 100 GG, I will ship free to North America. -If the bidding goes over 200 GG, I will ship free to the World! -If the bidding goes super crazy past that, I'll add in extra stuff (like maybe a real game or two), but really, what are the chances?
"How do I enter?" I hear you ask. Well, it's simple really. Just tip this post a GG or two! For every 5 you tip, you'll get an extra entry! (So, 5 GG would be 6 entries, 10 GG would be 12 entries. Standard stuff here.)
So, get bidding and let me help you help me give you this not awesome game!
Bidding ends February 24 since nothing else is ending then.
Remember, bid early and bid often!

I bought a copy of Netrunner off ebay a couple months ago after hearing about it on the lotteries. It was new, in shrink when I got it. I opened it up to read the rules and that's when I realized there is no way in hell my wife will ever play it. She prefers lighter games to rules-heavy ones.
Note: Pics aren't of the actual game I have, but are excellent representations of what the winner will receive, plus the box holding the 2 decks as in the rep image.

Hmmm... that's 2 nostalgic wins in 2 months! Congrats!
What's this, another nostalgic item?
Doing some post-move cleaning, I again came across my copy of the 1980 edition of Galactic War Battlebook (I think, cover is pictured). I never did anything with the games, but the book is a bit dog eared from fantasizing about it. There are 4 complete games inside, with different innovative mechanics for each. This edition has B&W counters, and full-color game boards.
As a child, I could not make the time to make the games, and as an adult I have too many other games on my want to make/want to play list. (Wait, is that backwards? so sad...)
Anyway, rather than move this to another drawer, I'll give it away here on the auction where it can complete a collection, inspire PnP variants, or be played as it should.

I ask you, my AT loving friends, is there any more pure Ameritrash concept than putting painted figs of Super Heroes inside Dice?!?!?
Here we have a complete starter set like that pictured in the representative image for the game, including the cool hex-shaped plastic case.
EDIT: (I probably should note the representative image doesn't show all of the dice or the rules or player mats. )
Quote: From the Instruction Manual: The Marvel Heroes Battle Dice game recreates the epic battles of the heroes and villains in the Marvel comic domain. With this starter set, you and a friend get everything needed to play the Battle Dice basic game, including figures, battle dice, battle mats and these rules.
I like the components very much. The figs and paint jobs are pretty nice and the spring-open battle dice and the carrying case are neat, but my son and I never really hit our stride with this one. I think the problem is that we were getting our Marvel game fix playing Marvel Heroscape, and will graduate from that to FFG's Marvel Heroes game. Certainly, there is someone out there who will get more out of this snazzy little set than we are.
CONDITION: Included are the spring-open dice, figs, plastic case, rules and mats. All are in quite good condition. I don't think the rules and mats really fit in the case with the figs, though, so I've been keeping the set in a ziploc bag. For you, I'll even include the ziploc bag. That's right. I'm just that kind of guy.
SHIPPING: Shipping is FREE worldwide.
CLOSING TIME: Lottery ends some time the evening of Feb. 28. If my pattern holds, that will probably mean late in that evening. I will post "closing soon" notes that day to make the end time more specific.
RULES FOR ENTRY: 1 GG = 1 entry, 5 GG = 6 entries. Additionally, I'll award 5 more bonus entries for every 20 GG bid (Because, seriously, if you want Marvel Battle Dice that much, you deserve to be rewarded).
So, for example: 10 GG = 12 Entries 17 GG = 20 Entries 20 GG = 29 Entries 100 GG = 145 Entries (Do it. Do it. Do it.)
MY TOOL OF CHOICE: I'm in an entirely monogamous relationship with Sol's impressive tool. I have no doubt that it can handle the needs of my entry system.
And, honestly, I didn't realize how much dirtier the use of the phrase "entry system" would make my entendre.
