On November 2004 I had this insane idea of awarding geekgold for the best SR of the week. Boy, I didn't imagine it would be this much work! :-)

Anyway, check out below to see which BGG'ers have been honoured in the past few weeks.

Note: if you find any session reports that you deem worth of the award, please let me know. I read a lot of them, but not all, so I will consider other people's input (as long as they don't submit their own creations, of course...).

Feb 2005 announcement: for the next ten to fifteen weeks I'll be bestowing a few extra geekgold every week for the Sean Ahern Honorary Mention. Sean was kind enough to ship me a pack of the Ticket to Ride: Mystery Train Expansion game at his own cost. We had previously agreed that I would pay him 15 geekgold but at the time we finally concluded our transaction, he no longer needed the geekgold, so he told me that I didn't have to give them to him, but I should "pay it forward" to deserving geeks. I thought about running a contest but could not come up with any good ideas, so I decided to piggyback on this award and create an honorary mention in his name. Therefore, for the next few weeks I'll be giving away my regular one geekgold for the best SR plus one (or more) honorary mentions in his name.

In the last week of 2004 the session reports only started showing up on Thursday, so I didn't have time to read much. And on the first week of 2005 I was way too busy at work (with a new school semester coming up and all that), so I couldn't devote much time to this endeavour again.

If you haven't seen it yet, please read my own session report on Tic-Tac-Toe:

The week of January 21st was a very fruitful one for good session reports. There were many interesting sessions and I couldn't decide which one was the best, so I came up with a voting for it. I created a geeklist ( http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist.php3?action=view&listi...) listing the four that I liked best. The voice of the people chose the one on BaHotH by newcomer Jack Bennett:

Thanks! I have to say, however, that I only wrote 1/4th of it ... we each wrote our own commentary. I suppose I did write a tiny bit more (I'm "ed.") but it was really a group effort. So, all readers should feel free to send 1GG to LVBrian, LVAndy and universema (although I don't think those are their names here).

It was much easier writing a report with these online games. Next time, maybe I'll write the whole thing myself so that only the REAL story comes through :)

It's oddly fitting that Werewolf is rewarded on Friday the 13th!

P.S. Thanks for reading the "massive opus". Hopefully the quality offsets the quantity.goo
