I have been to every PlatteCon from Alpha, and I recently attended the one before Omega. (No decision on the name of the convention after Omega)
PlatteCon is the annual gaming convention held at UW-Platteville, my alma mater. I get to reconnnect with many of my frirnds so I consider it my homecoming
Here are the games that I played, bought, or were somehow significant.

PlatteCon is my one time I RPG. I actually wanted to do the Stargate SG1 session (with the same GM) from 8-Midnight, but there was nothing else going on so the GM convinced me to play. My character had a flame pistol, so I chose the classign "Pyro". We couldn't think of a unit name, so we were "this space for rent". Just 3 players, so he reduced the opponents. We did quite well.

No, I didn't play Rock, Paper, Scissors!
Besides gaming, one thing that happens at most PlattCons is Anime (Japanese animation). This particular series was appropriate becouse it had to do with gaming. The main character was in a game of restricted rock, paper, scissors - Each player is given 4 cards of each type. You each play a card. Ties nothing happens, otherwise the loser gives the winner a star (one starts with 3). After the match both cards are removed (cannot be played again). The total cards of each type is displayed on a scoreboard. At the end of 4 hours if you have cards left or less than 3 stars you lose.
Lots of game theory in this. At one time the main character (and friends) try to buy all the paper cards so the all the rocks will take out the scissors (in other matches), and then their paper cards will be guaranteed to win. Other stuff happens, but that gives a good idea.

First of the games I ran. I managed to get 3 other players in this. Finished right on time. Ben used a card drawing strategy to pull out a win. Dave had more actions in the final turn after everyone else was done that I have seen in any other game (at least 3)
Total, Map, developmnet, cards, pop, slavery
Ben 52 (12 + 28 + 12 +1 -1) Dave 47 (10 + 35 + 2) (may have missed free gov points) Me 47 (8 + 35 + 4) Nate 41 (6 + 31 + 4)

Dr Rex (former UWP prof and club advisor to the Platteville Gaming Association ) signed up for my Wealth of Nations Game. We had a hesitant third which I was willing to play, but eventually we got two more.
We played with v 2.0 rules, but not with War Clouds. Since I was the only one who had played before, I let the other playes choose staruing player (they had me last). Initial pacakges went basically in order except I got mines (ore).
We were playing in the Noon - 4 PM slot. Luckily the next time slot is 5-9PM. We did the final turn at about 4:15. Had the game gone to conclusion Dr Rex probably would have won. Quinn basically gave up when his strategies were taken by others (he came back in, but then was out again when he made a very supoptimal move)
Me 87 (12 tiles, $380) Dr Rex 85 (15 tiles, $250) Jerrold 58 (9 tiles, $220) Bryan 50 (8 tiles, $180) Quinn 17 (4 tiles, $10)

For the 7th year in a row, "Nips" ran his homebrew dungeon crawl. This was the second co-op year (he runs the monsters, the six players try to delve as deep as they can).
We worked together well. After the starting areas, there are two areas the group can go to, ending in a "boss" monster. (there is then a 3rd area with an even tougher end monster). We chose the tougher area (less but tougher monsters, tougher end monster.
We did manage to kill the end monster (Ironwood Colossus), and recieved a button! The button gives you bonus for future year games (a couple people in our group had buttons from last year)

I try to buy something from the vendor room. There were some interesting older games at deep discount, but I decided to buy this.

I tradionally run a light game Sunday morning, since most players are brain fried.
In game 1 I was doing well but had a bad last round: Joe 10 Ben 5 Me 4 Dave 0
The players agrred to play the second game with vexatuon. Joe used his track to make going to my final city very difficult (he though he was blocking Ben) Joe 13 Ben 12 Me 4 Dave 0
