BIRMINGHAM TIME - Over.
From the 4th to the 6th of June 2010 the UK Games Expo took place in Birmingham: http://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/
As I did last year (UK Games Expo Photo Contest - WE WANT TO SEE THEM GAMES!) and the year before, I created this GeekList competition for all attendees of the UK Games Expo to show us their best shots.
There were 5 categories:
1. The Convention. The public, the people, the whole atmosphere, condensed in one single shot.
2. Game: Bits and Boards. The most beautiful NEW game, with the bits, the box, whatever, but concentrate on the pure game as it is.
3. Game: Play. The best shot from actual gameplay. The fun, the crazy people, the concentration. But still: Show us the game they play, please, too!
4. Designers & Presentation:The booth, the costumes, the designers, but please: A good picture!
5. Funny stuff: Make us laugh. That`s all.
The awards: All votes ( for the entries) had to be done until midnight 13th / 14th June BGG-time. The final pot was 33 (donated) plus 40 (my account), which should have been devided into 5 equal parts. The rest I wanted to give the picture I liked best from the pics not yet awarded. Since there was a tie in the last category (one vote each), I chose to split the prize after having added the rest of the  - so the final splitting was 14 / 14 / 14 / 14 / 8.5 / 8.5.

And so it begins. UK Games Expo in boxes in my garage. Well - some of it anyway. Boxes of games for prizes and tournaments, Shirts for crew, trophies and K9. The start of Expo week. Here we go!!

OK - I admit it. We were overwhelmed for that first hour with the queues. Think most folk forgave us when they got in. Already got a big plan for dealing with the crush next year. For starters - come get the tickets friday (we will keep the desk open later).
BUt here is the queue Saturday about 9.30. I DID NOT see this as I was inside running between trade stands sorting little issues out.
