FallCon is a boardgaming and miniatures convention held every year in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Our dates for this year's convention are October 15th through 17th.

FallCon’s prime focus is providing a fun a friendly environment for new and veteran gamers alike. In order to facilitate and foster game play, FallCon has a large game library, tons of open gaming space and also organizes a series of "moderated" game events. Registrants generally sign up for these scheduled game events, either to learn a new game or to test their skills against the field of local masters. The current schedule can be viewed at our website - www.fallcon.com:

Note that one of our slots on Friday night currently states "People's Choice". As such we are holding nominations for the game that will be placed into that slot. Use this Geeklist to nominate ONE game that you think would be well suited to the 4-5 hr time slot (shorter games will be played multiple times). Once a game is nominated, use the thumbs up feature to vote for games you'd like to see become the "People's Choice" for 2010. As long as we can get enough game copies and a moderator to teach the game and run the event we will go with the top vote getter. Last year's choice was Glory to Rome.

Each person may nominate a single game to the list. You can vote for as many games as you wish. We look forward to seeing your nominations and we hope to see you in October!

Would LOVE to try this one! Probably won't make it for the 7pm start on Friday night but hopefully it'll get some more play through the weekend!

This game, plus all three expansions, would be fun. How to organize? Play with three players per table? Four players per table? Total highest score per table moves on? Questions that only the Uplift Ganarssh can answer.

Hey the GRAND game only happens every four years and this game is lots of fun especially for any group over 12. Besides we have no sports games per se at this level. Would be happy to moderator this riotous game.

Awesome!!! Six votes and time to start an online campaign. Certainly not the most complex game or in the top 100 but it is fun, filled with the unexpected and certainly worthy of coming back for another short run - YES this has made it's appearance at FallCon and it always is filled with laughter and frolic.

Maybe this time Ivory Coast can move on or what about those Aussies!!!

I played it once.

...and I still think about it often.

That's either a sign of a great game, or some sort of psychological disorder. Either way, it gets a nom from me!

This is also an excellent choice. If I were allowed a second vote, it'd go here. (Again, I could also moderate this.)

Played this one last week and quite enjoyed it. Gotta love a game that incorporates the use of primary and complementary colours with a cool theme. I suck at painting, but this was fun! Could probably do four if not five consecutive games in a 5-hour time slot.

Edit: since we're counting thumbs as votes, I probably have to do the unthinkable here and thumb my own post—horrors!

....cause I am NOT thumbing my own. I assume you posting it counts as your vote. I actually have thumbed all the posts except my own. I am actually so confident in my game pick, that I am willing to handicap myself.

Peace,

I'd just like to call out that FallCon is an excellent convention run by some very friendly and capable gamers. They've created a great atmosphere for gamers new and old alike.

For those who enjoy playtesting prototypes, the Alberta chapter Game Artisans of Canada with be there in force. A number of our members also hope to have newly published games to show off, including Sean Ross' Haggis, Gavan Brown's JAB: Realtime Boxing, and my own Two by Two.

Stop on by and say hello. meeple

I attended last year for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the event. I am sad this year that the dates conflict with our vacation plans.

Have a great CON everyon,

PS. I voted World Cup Tournament Football. Sounds like a great group game.
