This is a blatant example of frivolous spending.
I spent 100 geek gold and all I got was this lousy overtext.

GtR tied with Battlestar Galactica this month. They both had 3 plays each (2 of the BSG plays were with Pegasus). I also played Leaping Lemmings once. My boardgame plays always seem to slow down during the summer, as I often find other things to do with my time. I expect when fall/winter come back around, I'll start getting in more plays of more things.

I've started teaching my family a variety of games, which is where the games of Coloretto come from. We played it on a TV tray at a BBQ, and it worked pretty well. Coloretto is a good family game for carrying around and I will probably continue to play it with my family.

Another slow summer month - 10 plays altogether for July, one more than last month. After we first played TotAN last month, we purchased it and it got a lot of play from our family and friends. 2 for LNOE for our apparently now-monthly zombie game night - we also got Zombie State this month but didn't have a chance to play. The only new game this month for us was Red November, which I really like.
New to me games in bold:
4 Tales of the Arabian Nights 2 Last Night on Earth: The Zombie Game 2 Red November 1 Age of Empires III: The Age of Discovery 1 Zooloretto

Big month of gaming for me. There's a lot of growth and evolution happening with the local gaming scene: new meeting places, new groups, etc. After a long dry spell, I got to play quite a bit of Glory to Rome, which made me remember just how much fun it is. One of the best. Melissa seems to go back and forth on it, but currently the forecast is sunny.
Also a surprisingly big month for new games, mostly because I finally got to learn a few older titles that I've been curious about for ages. Santiago and La Citta both put the new hotness to shame.
New-to-me titles are in bold.

July came in at a solid 34 plays, so on average just slightly more than one per day.
SATOR took the top spot for the second month in a row, and Tsuro was right there with it. I was pleased to get Mage Knight Dungeons back to the table, and since most of the stuff is still set up in our dining room it should see a few more plays this coming month.
New this month were Fresco, the Bridges, Castles & Bazaars expansion for Carcassone, and a pair of old trivia games we found at a B&B: Origins, and another called "Trivia Trivia Sports", which apparently doesn't exist in the database (if I'd know that, I would have grabbed a few pictures and some basic information so it could be added.)
The Carc expansion was interesting - I really liked the bridges, but the castles showed the potential for being too powerful. The bazaars were interesting, but didn't do much with only two or three players. I could see them mattering a lot more with four or five.
I liked Fresco too, even though it was a somewhat abbreviated play (we had to jump the the final round setup early because the library where we played was near closing time.) I'd love to play it again.

The heat is ruining its fair share of evening walks with my wife and scaring people to the air conditioning of game night so I had a pretty fine month for gaming with 43 plays logged! Most notable is my top game with 7 games of Go. This month I found out about and attended a couple meetings of my local Go club. Its been amazing to play some games in person (I normally play on DragonGoServer.net) and its quickly becoming my favorite way to spend my Friday afternoons!

A little bit of a cheat since Checkers tied with Crokinole this month. But Crokinole was my most played game last month with my new board, and Checkers has never made this list, so it gets the spot.
A great month for gaming, and it was my highest amount of plays since joining BGG. I played a lot of old favorites with my son this month, along with a few new games with others.

22 plays, 12 unique games.
Bit of an odd month: on the 26th was Invasion day (my anniversary of coming to the UK), which this year coincided with my regular games evening. So I handed over the hosting to somebody else and went to dinner with the missus. Also the month where I (finally) got to start a new job, and was away most weekends, visiting friends, most of which I hadn't seen for far too long.
No new games, but I got to introducing people to new games, and assisted a member of my games group in introducing his students to new games. This is why I have a lot of once played games, as I wanted to give him the chance to at least play the games I was loaning to him.
Coloretto: 4 Race for the Galaxy: 3 Hive: 3 Tichu: 2 Bang!: 2 Ghost Stories: 2 Pandemic: 1 Small World: 1 Family Business: 1 Hey! That's my Fish!: 1 Battue: 1 Settlers of Catan (with Cities & Knights and Seafarers expansions): 1
Interesting to see a growing interest in Race for the Galaxy in my games group, as well as finally having four people who like to play Tichu.

New to me
This month my most played game was by far Twilight Imperium. This is the second month in a row that TI has held the top spot.
Play recording for me didn't officially start until 5-21-10. I first started recording this list last month in June. All plays are considered new if they are the first time appearing on these lists and may not reflect the first actual play of the game. Although this month most of the new items were actually new

This was my most-played month yet: 211 plays!
41 of those plays were for my game Malta!, coming out next month by Z-Man Games. There's been a lot of excitement around here about its release, so my playtest copy has been getting a lot of table time. A lot of games were also from testing out some cards for a possible expansion, and that's been a lot of fun.
Going past 18 plays of Hyper Slide we have 15 plays of Bali, that great classic word game. Some great words and scores this month, including my new record EXQUISITELY for 165 points.
Taluva comes in next with 8 plays, then a surprising 7 for Henry and a happy 7 for Wits & Wagers. Rounding out the nickels are 6 plays of Space Alert and 5 of Incan Gold and Inversé.
There were also 60 other games I played fewer than 5 times!

This has been a month when most of my gaming has been with my kids - my 3 year old spent about three weeks of it demanding to play games at every opportunity. I don't record every play - and only record plays of games where he plays the proper rules and plays games to their conclusion, but even only recording a fraction of the games it's put my plays up this month, in what was actually a relatively quiet month of gaming.
152 plays of 55 distinct games excluding kids games: 96 plays of 45 distinct games
