3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

1st choice: Because it would be amazing to play this game as a boy who was born on the other side of the wall (I don't know if it was wrong or right side ). To get a perspective. To see that time as a part of worlds history.
In few day we will celebrate in Poland 30th anniversary of August Agreementhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_Agreement (31th August 1980), which started good but resulted in state of war in December 1981 (martial law). But today, we are free and independenta and our countries are NATO and EU members.

2nd choice would be King Philip's War.

Great thing binraix!!! Bravo!

Why?:
Steam billowed past the rattling carriage as the locomotive sped through the inky night. "Sorry old boy, but rest assured I will get to the bottom of this".

My first choice would be Small World, because I really like sf/fantasy themed games - and I believe it would be a hit with my circle of friends, also.

My second choice: The Lord of the Rings: Confrontation Deluxe Ed. It's a 2-player game from Reiner Knizia, I'd like to play with my wife. We used to play Lost Cities and Samurai a lot, so I think we'd really like this game, too. And, for some reason, it's not avalaible in Hungary...

Finally, I would like to thank you for this opportunity. Have a nice day!

Very cool of you to do.

First choice, Talisman (FFG edition, whatever the #)

I recently purchased the new FFG Dungeon Quest. Not only is it a game that I missed out on ther earlier version that I want for myself, it's also a limited number of "my" games that I can already play with my kids. Most of my collection of games are too advanced to play with my children...5 (in October) and 3, with a 16 month old bringing up the rear...but Dungeon Quest is simple enough that I can play with them now, and they only need a small amount of help.

Talisman is another of those games. A friend had a copy 25 years ago we'd play, but I never had it. And it's on my list of "someday." But it's a game that's simple enough for my kids to understand and want to play. For them, it's like playing a story, even if it's not always one that ends the way they want.

Second Choice, Space Hulk: Death Angel, the Card Game. Yes, I have 3rd Edition Space Hulk, but there are times you want the experience without the need to break out the table insert.

First Pick: Homesteaders

Homesteaders looks like a great game. Unfortunately, there were some quality production issues with the first printing. I have a hard time spending my cash on a first print run that is going to improve for a second printing. I'd just rather wait. It appears that a lot of people think like me, because it doesn't appear a second printing is happening anytime soon. But, if I get it as a gift, I'm not near as picky. By giving this game to me, your helping to clear out a first print run, so a well deserving game can get a second.

Second Pick: Starship Catan

The stocks of this game are dwindling. Some stores currently have it, but if all are sold out when you select the winner, notice that my first pick also comes under the $30 mark.

Hi Raiko!

Congratulations for the GW award!! Well deserved!! I especially remember very much enjoying the geeklist with your Army experience - it seemed very similar to the Romanian army experience (I was fortunate enough to have lived in a time when the mandatory Army service became optional).

Also, thank you for this extremely generous offer... (given these hard, crisis times we live in...)

As for the games, my first choice would be Through the Ages. This is a great Civ game and I am proud because it was designed by an European. I've always loved PC computer games starting with Civ1 or Civ 2 back in the 90s. As for boardgames, I have yet to own a Civ game. Both my wife and my sister have already played and enjoyed(!!) this game so this basically became a must have for me.

My second option is also from the Civ genre but on the lighter side - Innovation.

All the best from Romania and an early Happy Birthday to Agnes!! (it's never too early for these wishes laugh )

First of all Raiko, you are a crazy man just to give away games like this! But a crazy man with the hearth at the right place. I've rarely seen such generous people. Once more congratualtions with your Geek of the Week status! I would also like to congratulate Agnes with her birthday but perhaps you should read this line again the 5th September.

My number 1 game to get would be Battlestar Galactica. I've watched soooo many reviews about the game here on BGG and I really want to get it. Money is a bit of an issue however. I also hope this will get my girlfriend introduced in the boardgaming community since the mechanic behind Battlestar resembles that of Werewulf which she really enjoys.

My number 2 game would be one of the folowing expansions (I don't know which are rated < 30 dollars so make your own pick if I am lucky enough to win!):
- Agricola: Farmers of the Moor
- A Game of Thrones: A Storm of Swords Expansion
- War of the Ring: Battles of the Third Age

edit: if these are too expensive I would take any game you would recommend me!

Once more, you rule for doing this! I actually feel kind of guilty by posting this but I did it anyway ... evil me.

Raiko,
You are very generous for doing this. Thanks so much and good luck to everyone!

Why Dungeon Twister 2? - Because I am still trying to find a game that will pull my son away from the instant gratification of his video games for more than a few minutes at a time. Battlelore almost did it, but he didn't like the long set-up and tear-down times. Cyclades was close, but he doesn't care for the auction mechanic, and the fact that he doesn't get to use the kraken all the time. I'm hoping this will be the one that does it!

The second game: Dixit - This is a game that I think I can get my wife to play. She likes fine art, but doesn't like fantasy, scifi or the ilk. So, if I win either, then I am in a catch-22: make my son happy or make my wife happy... oh,well...

Why: When dominion first game out back in the day, i was totally blown away by the concept. You see, i'm long time avid Magic The Gathering player. And drafting/deck building is the reason why i loved that game. Dominion was a fresh and well executed idea. HOWEVER, i find it dull. While i still play occasional games, i've been waiting for the next best dominion all these while. Thunderstone had promise, but had problems in my view. Nightfall, Evolution Earth: Cataclysm, Puzzle Strike are all great in their way. But still i waited for that ONE deck building game.

Ascension promised to be THAT game. But it's not available in my country and my local retail has no plans to bring it in the near future. So you are my only chance to let me see if i've finally found the holy grail.

Second Game: Failing the first one, another game that i'm looking for is Colossal Arena. It's a cheap and small game. Not very spectacular. But one that is missing from my collection (betting game) and one that is low on my priority to purchase. A free one will be a welcomed addition!

Thanks!

In awe of what you are doing. When my life gets back on track I hope to do something similar!

Why? Some years ago a friend of ours moved down to London. Before doing so he gave away most of his possessions. Amongst his stuff was a copy of Settlers. Taking this home got me back into boardgaming. A few years later I suffered a weird neurological illness which decimated my short term memory and led to me having seizures. Now, I can't remember playing Settlers that much, but my regular gaming friends (who have stuck with me throughout the illness) can. Therefore it rarely hits the table. With Cities and Knights I would hope to breathe some new life into the game for them.

Second choice is Dominion: Prosperity as my wife loves Dominion in all its flavours. She is deserving of this as she has been fabulous during recent times when I have lost my job and am still unable to work, when I can't carry our child in case I have a seizure, when I forget a significant percentage of each day; she has a stressful job but is still calm and reassuring with me and finds the time to play games with me. She is the best.

First game: COSMIC ENCOUNTER

Why?: I am a school teacher for Grades 3 and 4 in an elementary school in Toronto, Canada. All day they are taught to follow this rule, and apply that rule. Rules, rules, rules. I'm hoping to start a board game club soon to get some of the kids who don't care just for sports some good times as well.

I think Cosmic Encounter will be their brief respite from being loaded with all the rules of life, and a fine lesson in that there are times YOU NEED TO BREAK THE RULES TO WIN!!!

Second game: Cosmic Encounter: Cosmic Incursion. Even if somebody else is rewarded with the gift of their first game, I'd be thrilled to receive this expansion for Cosmic Encounter, because it would motivate me to make Cosmic Encounter my next purchase!

Thanks for your generous offer.

First Choice: The Adventurers: The Temple of Chac
Because it's a game I think my son would enjoy, but it's not a game I can bring myself to buy.

Second Choice: Mr. Jack in New York
Because it looks like an interesting 2-player game I could play with my son.

Thanks!

Why? The original version had tons of promise, once you added the errata. I'm hoping this will fix everything wrong with the old version because I really like semi-cooperative horror games.

Second choice: Arkham Horror: The Lurker at the Threshold Expansion, since I don't have the latest Lovecraftian goodness yet.

Hi!
My #1 pick would be Through the Ages. Why? It looks like an epic game and it's very highly rated here.

My #2 pick is Dominion for many of the same reasons, but I love card games and have heard great things about it.

Thanks for the giveaway! You are very nice to do this!

1st Choice - Twilight Struggle: This was a tough decision! How do I choose ONE game under $60 for the possibility of receiving a gift from an overly generous fellow gamer? Well, I decided on Twilight Struggle for a number of reasons. First, I grew up in the later years of the Cold War and can imagine this being a great way to make some sense of my formative years. Second, It's the third highest rank game on BGG and that should mean something. Third, "binraix" rates it a 10 and THAT should mean something.
Fourth, and most important, it seems like a fine two player game, and my wife is my most available opponent. Quality two player games are hard to come by.

2nd Choice -

En Garde! Fencing is my other passion. It would be great to have my fencing world enter my gaming world...just as gaming sharpens my mind for fencing.

Thanks to you for this opportunity. Happy Birthday to LilyGirl!
