3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

My first choice for a game would be Space Alert. I love cooperative games, and there just aren't enough of them. I love competetive games, but my wife beats me badly in a lot of them Much like binraix, I am proud to have a significant other who is also a gamer like myself, and another new game is just another way for us to spend more quality time together, and even moreso when it is cooperative.

My second choice would be Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer. I have been hooked on this game like crack ever since I read the rules. I entered the contest that happened not too long ago, but, alas, like all contests, I don't win anything; such is life I suppose

Whether I win anything or not in this most generous offer, I am glad to have participated in the contest, and congratulate the winners ahead of time cool

WHY: I am a big fan of Pandemic, it is my most played game. I love cooperative games, my game group plays a lot of co-op games {Pandemic, Forbidden Island, Shadows Over Camelot, Betrayal at House on the Hill}. This game looks great, and I think it would have a very big payoff with the group.

Second Choice: Race For The Galaxy

Thanks a lot

First off, congrats on Geek of the Week, and a very happy birthday to LilyGirl!

My game is Dungeon Lords.

Why? One of my best friends in university moved away to Seattle after graduation. There, in the cozy, geeky community of Microsoft employees, he discovered board games.
Eric mentioned this to me, but since I lived halfway across the country and had my own new job to worry about, I didn't think much of it.

Two years later, I discovered board games (and thus BGG) independently.
Remembering that Eric had already been hooked on board games for a while, I asked him for recommendations. Without any hesitation, or "what other games have you been playing", he recommended Dungeon Lords.

When we went to school together, Eric and I thought very much alike. We didn't finish each other's sentences - we spoke to each other in half-sentences because it was too much of a waste of time to actually finish the rest out loud... That's just a long-winded way of saying that I trust his opinion completely. If Eric thinks I'll love this game, there's a 99.99% chance that I'll love this game.

Second choice? Bohnanza. Our game group really likes light filler games.

1st Choice: Arkham Horror. I just got into board gaming and while this game is very complex it can be played with a good range of players. I really want a game I can play on my own, or with a group, something I am trying to put together.

2nd Choice: Race for the Galaxy. This appears to be really popular in the thread, and there must be a reason for that.

1st pick: Arkham Horror. Why, because I am married and will never be allowed to get this for myself. I don't want to face the "horror" of having to come home and explain why I spent $50 dollars on something only I will play. (I'm not afraid of solo play)

2nd pick: Pandemic: On the Brink. Why, because I already own Pandemic, and would love to have the expansion for it. Smaller pawns, petri dishes for the "viruses", more cards, and able to play as the bioterrorist. My game group would love to have that one person to go after in the game. Can't wait to play this!

If I could have any game right now it would be Arkham Horror. Why? Because my girlfriend is WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY too competitive and beats me (in real life) whenever I beat her (in a game), so cooperatives are what we (I) like best.

Seriously though, we've played Pandemic to death and Arkham Horror seems like a scary good time!

1st: Cyclades - This one because it scales well for number of players, w/a board and setup to match. That's always appreciated. Also, I play w/a mix of family and friends, who run the range of long-time gamers to new players. This game plays fairly quickly, offers a few possible paths to victory, and is swingy enough that even a newer player has a chance. In other words, a gripping game that adds a healthy dose of drama, which makes for an enjoyable ride regardless of the outcome.

2nd: Magical Athlete - Because it's completely ridiculous fun, great for a large group of mixed-experience gamers, and…again…ridiculous fun!

Kudos for your magnificent offer, and for bringing such generous energy and vibes into the community! May you enjoy the waves you have created for years to come!

Best,

Let me begin by giving a hearty congratulations for achieving mb, it is certainly well deserved. You contribute an enormous amount to this domain.

My First choice for your most gracious gift is Cyclades. The bidding aspect of this game is always received well within my game groups. In addition, the game looks beautiful.

My Second choice is the venerable Dominion. Yes most everyone knows it well and I have had the chance to play it once...yes, once. I loved it! Since the birth of our boy we have cut back all of our extra purchases and this title, although at the top of the list, is on indefinite hold. I keep arguing that games develop advanced cognitive ability and this would be a benefit for our child. (This is where my wifepoints to my overflowing game closet shake )

Cheers Mate, your generosity is boundless. And a happy B-day to Agnes, she's a keeper (but you already know )

Awesome idea. It has been fun reading all the replies. And as a somewhat newby to the game world, I got a lot of good info on some games I now want to check out.

1.Vikings--- This is a game I have looked at in the shop a dozen times but never bought. I am a sucker for fun shaped meeples and they have little viking helmeted guys! I saw a review of the game on BGG so I decided to try and get it by trade. But I have had no luck...I suspect people are wary of me because my trade rating is 0! I am excited to get more involved on here though, especially after seeing the reaction and enthusiasm in this list.

2. Dominion Alchemy--- Dominion Intrigue is the game my wife and I really get into. With 2 kids to take care of and me in school all day and her working at night, we don't usually have time for a boardgame that lasts 60 minutes+. But we can break out our copy of Intrigue and play a great in depth game in less than half an hour. Adding the new cards and mechanics of Alchemy will make it just that much more fun and diverse. Not to mention it is the one Dominion set my Brother In Law and I don't have together. He has all the others, I just have Intrigue.

By the way fellow BGGers, if you want to trade with me please look at my list. I don't have much but I really want to get going with this. It was only a couple years ago that I first played Carcassone (my fist eurogame) and life hasn't been the same since.

edit-apparently my knowledge of how this works is not so good as I posted this and it showed up in the comments section instead of on the list. Hopefully this fixes it and I am in the right place now.

First, this is a very generous giveaway you're doing here, so thanks! Second, this is my first post of any kind here at BGG (been lurking for a while). Third, why Settlers? My wife and I enjoy playing board games together, and this game would be a great introduction for her into the Eurogame world. Plus, once my daughter gets old enough, I would love to have a collection of games to play with her.

Second Choice: Puerto Rico

I know no reason for choice 2 was required, but I would love to add this game to my collection. I've played it a couple of times and would love to own the #1 game here.

WOW! living in a relativly poor and mean country(people don't just offer you things for free), where games are perceived as expensive, i got one for christmas and one for my birthday (i have settlers of catan and power grid) this seems extraordinary to me!

I would sure like to win Agricola Farmers of the Moor (the expansion) because i spent a lot of summers at my grandparents in the counrtyside at a very small farm, where i always imagined how it would be to be a big time farmer , i wish for the expansion because the original is to expensive, over 60$ and I am already saving up money to buy it around christmas.Having the expansion before the original game would motivate me to save up faster and buy it sooner, and who knows maybe my parents will surprise me by giving me more money if i show them the expansion and explain to them that i can't play it without the original.

For the second game I would like to have is Saint Petersburg because i watched a game on a german online boargame site and it seemed fun. and it's in the 30$ price range .

Very generous offer. thumbsup

I'm not a story guy, so I think I'll skip that part. Life is pretty good for us right now, we're heading to Essen in a few weeks and BGG.con after that, so I don't think there's anything I could write that would say why I "deserve" or "need" more games.

But, I'm not so stupid as to pass up an offer for free games.

For my #1, I chose Automobile, which should be released "soon". I've played it once before with the 2 player variant, and we enjoyed it quite a lot. If that's too far in the future, substitute Hansa Teutonica, I guess.

For #2, I think Egizia would be an excellent choice. Seems to be really getting a lot of good euro buzz.

I thought I'd add my 2 pesos worth and a sob story to boot. I have left the far flung shores of New Zealand to live in Mexico. The problems here are multitude, but apart from the rampant pollution, crime and traffic, there are very few games stores around! I've only encountered a Ravensburger store and Walmart.(et al) Not really my cup of tea.
More importantly Cook was sailing the Endeavour (without the Americanised spelling when he landed at New Zealand whilst charting the transit of Venus, and to boost the NZ link, the designers are Kiwis as well. This would certainly quell my homesickness if the hand of fate so chose.

The second game I would be surprised to get, would be Pyramid (2008) by Ravensburger. Something I have been trying to sort out for my little daughter so she can chase mummies around. Unfortunately this game isn't in the current RB line up so the one RB game I would purchase I cant.

Why?

One could easily say, "Why not?" considering the game has won more awards than my math skills allow. That said, my group loves games where we all play, and all stay involved. I think the economic style of Puerto Rico is right up their alley. And what's a game without friends to play it with?

2nd - San Juan - See previous. If I can't get Puerto Rico, I'll take San Juan to break them in .

Number one choice is Shogun. Why? I want to pillage my friend's feudal lands. What better reason can there be?

Number two choice is St. Petersburg.

Along with everyone else, thanks for this contest. Very nice.

My first choice would be Dungeon Lords. I've waffled on this game for a long time because I love the theme and think I would love the game, but I've questioned the length of play and especially the gameplay itself with only 2-3 people since many claim it's bunk without 4 people.

My second choice is FITS because I'm a Reiner Knizia fan, I join many other sheep with liking Tetris, and it just looks like a great family game.

Thanks much!

First Choice: 7 Wonders; I am very fascinated with a game that would play well with 7 players.....and in under an hours time. There are so many games that play well up to 4 or 5, but very few that play beyond. Also I like that there is very little text on the cards, because I often play games in mixed language groups.

Second Choice: Lord of the Rings Card game.....under $30? well, online is it listed that way. I am intrigued by this one as a cooperative or solo game. Looks interesting.

First Game: Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game
This game looks like it will be exactly what I've been looking to get. I bought DungeonQuest as soon as it came out and am now wishing I would have got this game as well. Now I'm broke. cry

Second Choice: Ablaze!
I tried this game at Origins this year and it was a fun little game. It's not on my wish or buy list but I wouldn't mind owning a copy of this to play from time to time.

Why? It looks like great fun. I'd like to play through the era of my middle-childhood and pubescent years. As Prince sang back then, "Ronnie talk to Russia before it's too late. Don't you blow up my world!" Deluxe edition for the win.

Second choice: Race For the Galaxy - The Gathering Storm expansion.

In closing let me echo the prevailing sentiment that you are awesome for running this giveaway. Impressive!

Seeing and hearing everyone playing Red Dead Redemption, and me w/o a video game console. I'd love to live out my cowboy fantasies through the best gaming platform: cardboard.

Second Game: China because I don't think you'd be able to get a copy of Web of Power as cheaply.

Thanks for the generosity.
