3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

Thank you for the generous offer! It's great to see this type of thing on the site.

First Game (should be the second game based on price)
Felix: The Cat in the Sack

Why: Your recent geeklist about your dog really struck a chord with me. My wife and I have been treating our cat for chronic renal failure for over a year with no major problems. However, just over a month ago, his condition became dramatically worse. We took him to the animal hospital and it looked like his kidneys had really started to break down. After trying to fight it with many medicines, nothing worked and he eventually became too weak to even stand---but he still had enough strength to crawl towards us and rub his face over our hands. His love really was unconditional. We finally had no choice but to put him to sleep last Friday. It has been tough, so thank you for brightening our day.

We've been looking for a game to remind us of him (he used to sit and watch us play boardgames all the time), so Felix looked like a fun game with cats. Plus, my parents enjoyed playing For Sale with us over the holidays, so this would likely be a game they'd enjoy as well. And it shouldn't be too expensive.

Second Game (should be the first game based on price)
Dungeon Lords

Why: Our favorite game is Agricola, so we've been trying to find another game that gives that tense feeling of starting from nothing and building something up while needing to prepare for a harvest. Maybe not the most obvious connection, but Dungeon Lords seems to have that feeling---building up your dungeon and then facing the incoming heroes. Plus, it seems to have an interesting twist on worker placement games and the two player rules with the neutral third player sound interesting to us (we enjoy the two player rules in Alhambra).

Why? - Almost always when I play games is with my girlfriend. It's not that one of us was an avid gamer before we got together - sure, we liked to play boardgames, but only after we got together we managed to build a humble library of games, and actually play those games on a regular basis. We found a FLGS together and now boardgaming is our favourite pastime.

Arkham Horror would be the perfect fit for us - we love cooperative games (Ghost Stories is our favourite), but also the theme is relevant to us: When we first met, we went to cinema with some mutual friends. The film was The Call of Cthulu. We're just past our first anniversary of living together, so a reminder of the time when we just started to know each other would be nice.

The second game - Race for the Galaxy: Rebel vs Imperium. We love the base game and just got the first expansion.

What, no Estonian games yet on this list?

My first choice would be Farlander!
Why: The only way to ever get a good Estonian game would be through one of our Estonian friends.
Why: It plays with two.
Why: It looks pretty!
Why: It's language independent and has rules in English.

My second choice would be Estland, although my Estonian is not so good that I know of a way to check if this game is under $30. If not, my second wish would be any other Estonian game with no language dependency that does have something Estonian about it (and that I maybe could play with my 5.5yr old?).

First choice: Defenders of the Realm

Reason:
I love playing boardgames, but my girlfriend is not much of a gamer. Most of the games that I love and try to play with her fall flat. The one game she LOVES is Pandemic, and it just so happens that mechanically Defenders of the Realm is rather similar.

The fact of the matter is, as much as I love board games and playing with my girlfriend, I cannot handle playing pandemic four times a night every time we want to play boardgames. I got On the Brink in hopes that it would freshen Pandemic up enough for me to be able to handle it for multiple playthroughs in a row but I guess I just don't love it as much as she does. This board game has a radically different theme and appeals to me in many ways and so I hope that this game will help us have successful board game nights without driving each other insane. Plus I can actually play this by myself at times even when shes not in the mood for gaming. Basically what I'm saying is if I somehow win then our board game nights could be saved forever! Thank you.

Second choice: Jambo

Reason:
Seems like a solid two player game that we could give a shot. I've heard good things about it and hope that my GF will enjoy it. I really want us to have board game nights and so I'm trying to get us games that will hopefully appeal to her

(First: Raiko, 'grats on your GotW title, of course!)

Yes, my choice for 'big prize' would be Finca.

Why Finca?
Because I know it would definitely find a good home, as my wife WILL play this with me, because:

1) it has tons of wooden bits (and in fruit colours & shapes!)
2) it has a very original token-moving system WITHOUT dice
3) it has great replayability
4) did I mention it has tons of wooden bits already?

Otherwise, you could also make us happy with my choice for 'smaller prize', Heroes of Graxia.

Why Heroes of Graxia? (hey! no little wooden pieces...)
I know, this would be mostly for me, hoping that she will like it too, but otherwise my gaming group will happily play it with me (as they like Dominion, Thunderstone, etc.)

Second Choice - Railways of the World: The Card Game

Oops! Didn't see the less than $30 part for the second choice. So, How about Filipino Fruit Market to complete my Indie Card & Boards collection.

Thanks for doing this. I'm going to list two games I can't see myself picking up, but I would love to have.

The first one. Voltron - I remember enjoying the show as a kid. I had a set of the lion action figures to build Voltron. The five lions, a battle game that my little boy will attempt to play with me in a few years sounds great. I just can't justify buying it now especially since it has the possibility of leading me into a collectible game.

Second, Nuns on the Run. It actually sounds like a good game, but its title is what is truly drawing me.

First Game: Railways of the World

When I asked for recommendations about pick-up and deliver games, many of the games were train games. I took a look at many of them and the one that stood out was Railways of the World, in part because it looks fantastic, and in part because it's suppossed to be more forgiving than Steam.

Second Game: Notre Dame

I've been on the fence about this game for a while. On one hand it seems multiplayer solitaire, which might be good for playing with my wife but probably not with my gaming group, and on the other hand it has a good rating which means many people like it. So I don't know.

Thanks for the oportunity!

My first choice is Wasabi!, because it's been on my wish list for too long, and I don't seem to be able to pick it up from the local store even with the gift token I have also had for too long. Also, I like sushi, but what's even more a reason, my wife likes sushi, which means she'd probably want to play this game as well.

My second choice is Money!, since it's first letter is the vertical opposite of the first letter in the first game. It also ends with the same letter, or should I say symbol. Also, while writing this it's family game rank and played games this month has the same numbers as the first (123/132, 65/56). It also has the same average rating than the first game does. Also, it's on my wish list as is the first game.

Look, I know the list price violates your rules for a $60 limit, but if you online order it from here: http://www.hobbiesandgames.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Horu... for $69, I can save you the shipping as I live literally 1 city block away from them and can pick it up directly.

Just think of the greenhouse gasses you will save by eliminating the need to have some stinky delivery truck bring a game to some other person's door. I can ride my bike over and get it! Not only will you help the environment, you will feel good knowing that you are helping fight the obesity epidemic in the U.S.! Don't make me make a commercial where I stare at the camera with dewey, large eyes as a has-been Hollywood type asks you for your help. I'm not even asking for a bag of rice, send me some Chaos! Either by the hand of Horus, or from the very dark powers themselves (see second choice).

Why? This game explores the climax of the greatest story ever told, a god-like father and his favorite son at war. A tale of corruption, righteousness and betrayal. A story so rich and deep they have written 14 books so far telling it and still haven't finished it yet. Most of all, Death To The False Emperor! Rally to Horus's banner brother as the Emperor has forsaken us! The Warp is meant for human kind to control, not hide from. With this game I can reshape history, a history where Horus is ascendant and human kind is free to reach their true potential. Let us both swim in the Great Ocean!goo

Second: Chaos in the Old World. Again it breaks your $30 barrier, but my neighbor can get it to me with no shipping for $41: http://www.hobbiesandgames.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Chao...

My first choice game would be Le Havre. Our gaming group has a relatively small collection, and worker placement is an area in which we're lacking. We have played (and liked) Agricola, but Le Havre looks like a more interesting theme and game.

My second choice is Innovation. I've been tracking this game for some time, and it looks like a great game for my wife and me to enjoy.

My first choice is American Megafauna, the detail in this game looks amazing, but I can't justify purchasing it for myself since I have a limited budget and I would never find anyone to play this with me. It does play solo, but then I need to find space to lay it out for the weeks it would certainly take me to complete a solo game.

My second choice would be Animal upon Animal. I'm really trying to get my daughter into gaming but none of the games I've tried so far have resonated with her any more than Candyland soblue hoping this one might do it.

This is really nice.

1) Middle Earth Quest: Why? I love the theme, and my gaming group likes coops a lot. I really like the idea of a semi-coop with a dedicated opponent. Besides, who wouldn't like to play as Sauron? Sounds like a great deal of fun.

2) Race for the Galaxy: Why? I don't have it and its a great game. I think I could get my group into this game and I've loved trying out the Keldon AI. It also is supposed to play well as a two player, non-confrontational game, which would be key for my game group.

Thanks!

First off, grats on Geek of the Week and thanks for making such a generous gesture.

First Game: Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game. I used to play D&D when I was younger. I love the genre. From books, to movies, to games. Unfortunately, no one I know plays any more, so I have no chances to play. This game looks like it would allow me to scratch that itch, and allow me to do it solo if need be.

Second Game: Glory to Rome. I love Civ games and this looks like a great one. Now that it's readily available again I'd love to get a copy of it.

1st Game: Small World
Why? - Much like you, I love playing games with my wife. So we've selected two games that have or are 2 player compatible. However; she cannot sit at tables for long periods of time as she has 3 slipped discs in her back and degenerative disc disease. This basically equals disabled wife for me, because after being at work for 8 hours she basically comes home and lays down. We've been going over games on the geek together on her laptop in bed at night and looking to see what we want and these are two games that we've been putting the extra research into as far as reading reviews/sessions, and thus thinking of getting. Hopefully we win! Her birthday is also Sept. 5th. Not that this will sway the random number generator in any way, but it did get me to throw all my GG at the contest in hopes of getting her a game.

The second game - Hive

Why? - Well, while Small World isn't as easy to play while lying down, Hive totally is. Yay for games that I can play while my wife rests her back.

Thank you for your greatness!

First Game - Hansa Teutonica - Why?
Because in my game group, we are all devoted Eurogamers. This is one that not everyone has had the chance to play, and while I enjoyed it, those who have played it in our group "isn't sure" what they thought. Needless to say, it's been a hard sell to those in my group to order... getting a "free" copy would help solve that issue. If no one liked it, no harm done.

Second game - Ascension - Why?
Because I'm an avid Magic the Gathering fan and I'm the only one in my group who is. It looks fresh, fun, and beautiful, and the fact Brian Kibler was involved sealed the deal for me (he's a popular pro Magic player). That and if I walked in the door with it under my arm it would become the "look what came in the mail" as opposed to "so there's this game Magic players created..."

Very generous of you.

Why?
I'm trying to shore up the alphabetic holes in my boardgame collection, so everything can be set up for my annual Alphabetic Boardgame Challenge. Last year we had to use a print-and-play for E, because I had no E-games. It was a blemish on an otherwise amazing weekend. I've played Endeavor a few times, and both my girlfriend and I like it a lot, so it seems like the perfect game for my collection.

The second game
Ubongo: Although we technically already have a U-game in the form of Upwords, I find myself not satisfied playing a scrabble variant. Ubongo looks like a unique sort of game, and I'm intrigued to try it.
