3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

Why?... I am convinced that Vlaada Chvatil can do no wrong though I have yet to play this. My interest in this hobby was spawned by Co-Op board games but this one has slipped through my fingers. I know my group will love it.

Second Game: Innovation.

I love card games and the buzz on this one is huge. Watching the video reviews and game coverage videos I cannot wait to get my hands on this game.

Thanks for this. As usual BGG cements itself as one of the best and most generous online communities.

The answer to your question is hinted at below. GM me for more details.

Well, first choice is just because we like Settlers and we like train games. Huh, I guess that probably isn't going to earn me much of a chance towards creativity. Maybe my second choice, Ultimate, will do the job for me. Mary & I really like playing Frisbee, as can be seen in these shots.

This is from Mary's POV. She is about to catch the Frisbee I just tossed. We were at Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast.

This was taken by our roommate. We had just finished a session in our yard last Spring. It was raining and it was dark.

Of course, this is at online store prices. If too much, jump to second choice.

Reason: I love games with miniatures. The problem is that even if I could find time to paint them, I'm such a terrible painter that they would look worse than they did when I started. Other than CMG's, Claustrophobia is one of the few games with pre-painted miniatures out there. Since I only have one regular gaming buddy, scenario-based games like it go a long way in keeping the game fresh over several plays.

Second Choice: Ghost Stories
I have a hard time playing games with my wife because she doesn't like the competitive aspect of them. When we got Pandemic, the co-operative nature of the game enabled us to have many game nights of fun together. The problem is that I can't really get into Pandemic's theme. I'm hoping that the theme of Ghost Stories and it's co-operative nature will yield several more enjoyable game nights with my wife. (Note: Ghost Stories is currently $29.95 at Cardhaus.)

Thank you very much for your generosity!

I love giveaways! Raiko, thank you for your generosity (and good luck combing through all of our entries!)

First Choice: Agricola. My first eurogame was Puerto Rico. Not your standard gateway game, but I read an article about it in GAMES Magazine, and it looked fascinating. I bought it online, wondering whether the whole thing would be in German when it arrived. Fortunately, it was 100% in English. I taught it to my mom and one of my sisters, and we all loved it. I have bought several eurogames since then, and this is one of the only games other than Ticket to Ride that I can get them to play, and that only rarely. In hopes of reminding them that deeper, meatier games can still be fun, I ask for Agricola as my first choice. The scalability for number and level of players looks great. BTW, a big shout-out for Board Games With Scott, which did a great job of selling me on this game.

Second Choice: Thurn and Taxis. Ticket to Ride is the current favorite at my house, both US and Europe versions, complete with expansions. I've heard this is a good next step up in complexity, plus it's designed by Puerto Rico's maker, Andreas Seyfarth.

Edit: Removed request for additional game per instructions.

1st Choice. It's been a game I wanted for ages. Only played it 3 times and I know it will be one I will enjoy after I get the tactics. (It would make a change from Dominion which my family love playing.) It's a game I'm not allowed to buy since my gaming buddy has a copy and 'supposedly' it would be pointless having two copies between us! (Tsk. Wives!)

2nd choice. Odin's Ravens

A fantastic game, but it appears to be out of print! Bought it for the aforementioned gaming buddy and have never seen it anywhere since. A brilliant 2 player 'race' game that the wife likes.

Thanks for the chance to win a copy. I shall sprinkle some as a return for your generosity.

1st Choice: Power Struggle
. Reason: Played it and liked it at 2009 BGGcon. The rules are easy to understand and the play time is short enough that I think I could get my family to play it (-if I was going to choose without regard to actual playtime, I would probably choose Android, but it would end up sitting on the shelf for years)
2nd Choice:Dominion: Seaside
. Reason: Already have Dominion + Aclhemy, and currently would like to have the other expansions, but its not like I dont already have enough replayability and my wife would be happy if I never bought another gamecry -- but surely she cant complain about a free game.

Thanks for running the give-away

First game:
Cyclades.

Firstly, my first time entering a contest here even thou I have been following BGG for years and being a huge boardgamefan. I hope enter this contest the right way I read a great review on this game and being interested in the theme, this should be right up my game groups alley.

Why me? Because game developers are doing a job that should be encouraged and their games should be bought. Its the contemporary art I understand best. Therefore I suggest:

I hope I am not crossing any silent boundaries here:
should I win something:

a) if I win by chance:
I will make a poll of 4 games of about 60e worth and buy the game with most votes. Then I will make a 1000 word review on the game. That will not be just another review, but form the perspective of my studies: psychology and media studies.
b) if I win by being chosen
I will buy the game that either the organiser of this poll wants me (about 60e) or make a poll of 4 games and buy the most votes getting game. Then I will make a 1000 word review on the game. That will not be just another review, but form the perspective of my studies: psychology and media studies.

Second game:

Cold war: KGB vs. CIA

One more epic silver line game.

Ps. I hope this does not start up a war of "bidding" into winning this contest. That is not my aim. When I thought about entering, I thought to myself: whom I would pick to win? I am a student, and not in the best financial position, so should I pick a poor person? No, I would choose someone with whom I could be interaction in the future and who would also benefit the most amount of people. I hope this enlightens my answer.

Yours truly,
Elegia,
Finland

I would like a copy of the board game Java. I'm a fan of the game Tikal, and have always wanted to try this game. The problem is that it is hard to find, and while there are a few copies here in the marketplace for under $60, it's hard to rationalize that much for a game I have not even been able to try yet.

My second choice would be Carcassonne - Hunters & Gatherers. I've played the original Carcassonne, but never bought it for myself, and someone I spoke with told me their favorite version was the Hunters & Gatherers, so I would like to try this as well.

Happy birthday to Agnes!

The first game is Arkham Horror - because I'm very fond of the Lovecraft's work, and i've read and watch a TON of reviews on this and it looks AWESOME. I'd play it solo and with friends.

My second pick - Race for the Galaxy - I've been eyeing this one up as well. I'm interested in a good deep space card game. This is it.

I'm actually on the verge of starting a board gaming group with a few people from work - either of these would be great additions to my (currently small) library of games.

Congrats! You are indeed worthy of the title of Love Spreader. First choice is Sherwood Forest. Who could ever say no to Robin Hood and his merry band of thieves? Plus its nice to get everyone in my gaming group ganging up on someone other than me...

Second pick is Revolution! And thats just cause my group needs a game to vent with once I've done backstabbing them in BSG... "cue accusations of CYLON!"

Why? Because I love Military history and I love wargames. I also salivate at the prospect of hand making my own mongol army... but without rules that is kind of boring.

My second choice is:

The Resistance

I would LOVE to own this game. I don't know anyone who would not like it. Which is the ultimate reason to get a game.

Shogun - why? Because I don´t have it yet...
And there´s a promising expansion coming soon in Essen, so it´s necessary for me to have this game before I can go to Essen buy the expansion...
I don´t know if it´s under 60$, it depends on the shop you´re searching...
Never mind. I must find it somehow goo

Aye dark overlord - love to see others murmuring their excuses

Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity.

Why? - I played this game a few times with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, we haven't had any luck buying it locally as none of the shops here sell the game. We are both looking forward to the day we can play the game again, and we believe it is a great addition to the collection of great 2-player games the family owns.

The second game - Jet Set.
Again, this is another game that we have been trying to track down without any luck. After playing a friend's copy, we enjoyed it so much that we want to have our own copy so that we can play it in the evenings.
