3rd. Price: Bonus winner

Well, this one was the hardest one for me. I had 13 entries chosen and I had this secret thing in my mind I used to search for the third winner.
I looked for three things:
1) Congrats to me and Agnes
2) Correct entry
3) Great reasoning or story

I had some trouble of deciding here, because there were so many good ones, so I was able to choose 3 best ones and from them I randomly draw the winner. I'm sorry, I'm weak, I wish I could give you all something great.

So, the winner:

As for the price, I thought here many things, but this one is like the third price, so I will make it 15$ game winner choosing, so choose well.

I hope there is no hard feelings from all the rest participants.
I can tell you that this is not my last give away, so be on the alert.

I hope all the winner now can help me to get their games as cheap as possible, somewhere near them would be best.

THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING PART IN THIS!

Hello, hello to all.

I wasn't planning to give away any games again any time soon, because I just had one give away after I got the Love Spreader award, but now I got another award - Geek Of The Week.
And to celebrate this I decided to give away 3 games to random user here on BGG.

Las time I had 5 items I chose random, but this I thought we could do something little more different. These games I offered last time might not be what you want, so this time we do the following:

First you could thumb this list to keep this on the first page as long as possible.
Then you add here geek list item with the name of the game you wish to have. Only rule is that the game should cost less than 60$ (because I will pay the shipping too). Then write short about why you want this game. This might be just few words, but I would love to read them all. And to the end add a second game you would like, if for some reason your first choice wasn't picked as winner. I will make the first item as example for you all anyways.
The second game you add should be valued less than 30$ (again, I will pay for shipping)

Drawing: I will draw this item on the 5th of September, because this is Agnes's birthday (user LilyGirl). Drawing will be easy - use random number generator to pick two users.
1st. winner will get the game he/she listed as item.
2nd. winner will get the game he/she wrote as second choice.

Bonuses: This wouldn't be as fun without bonuses. Same bonus as last time - for every 0.5 tip to this geek list you will be added to the draw one additional time.

Bonus 2:
Who will write me best reason/story/words why he/she wants the main listed game and for some reason don't win, will get something special from me. Maybe something off her/his wish list as third winner.

Things to remember:

1. Recommend this list.
2. Add item with game in 60$ dollars, write short reason and then add second game under 30$
3. You can get additional bonus for 0.5 for tipping the list.
4. Check back with the list around 5th of September, Agnes's birthday.

Good luck.

PS! Edit: Everyone check your entries. Check that games are cheaper than the numbers I wrote before. If it is more expensive, I hope you have solution written there (like you are willing to pay for shipping), because I will not accept the offer to pay the difference to me, because the shipping is more expensive for larger and more expensive games. You can offer to pay for shipping.
Also check that you have selected only one game for 60 and 30 dollars, so total of 2 games. I will not accept a list of games to choose from. Choose now or later I will draw your name and you have there a large number of games, I will draw another winner.
Also everyone who has entered their wishes as comments, make them as geeklist items as well.
Drawing will be later today, Sunday the 5th...

Game 1: Automobile
Reason: I'm still driving an 11 year old clunker car with no air conditioning during one of the hottest summers on record here in the eastern USA so that I can splurge on traveling to gaming events instead of having a car payment. If you send a copy of Automobile for my collection, I can dream of buying a new car while I enjoy my favorite hobby.

Game 2: Caligula
Reason: I have yet to play this game (or read the rules), but I'm intrigued by the BGG comments that say this game is a blending of Tribune, Meuterer and Pacific Typhoon. How is this even possible? I'd love a copy of it so that I can answer this burning question.

Congrats on being named GotW, and best wishes to Agnes for her birthday!

-Brian

Let me begin by giving you both a congratulations on being 'Geek of the Week', and my thanks for having this give away.

To Agnes: Happy Birthday!

First Choice:

Defenders of the Realm
I would really like to have a copy of Defenders of the Realm for a variety of reasons.

1) Theme ~
I have been a fantasy fan, since I first began playing Dungeons & Dragons, when I was 10 years old (that is over 27 years ago!) This game is loaded with theme and I get excited just thinking about playing.

2) Art ~
When I was seriously into AD&D and later AD&D 2nd Ed. my favorite artist was Larry Elmore. I used to love seeing his art both on the AD&D products and on the cover of Dragon Magazine.

3) Nostalgia ~

When I look at this game, I am transported back to my early days, and instantly feel a comfortable 'care free' feeling I had in my youth, this often hard to come by these days.

4) Bits ~

I like when a game has components that can be used elsewhere. It is like getting two games for one. The miniatures in this game can be used for several different things. Playing D&D is one of them, but the use I would like to put them to is playing Warrior Heroes: Armies and Adventures.

5) Playability ~
This game doesn't need anyone else to play. It can be played solitaire. That means it can be played anytime I have time. I like to play with other people but sometimes I can't get anyone together to play. This way I can play despite scheduling or language problems (I live in China and sometimes language is a problem to finding players.)

---------------------------------------

Second Choice:

Thunderstone
This is my second choice for many of the same reasons as my first choice.

1) Theme ~
I Love fantasy.

2) Art ~

The artwork is great.

3) Nostalgia ~

When I was first into Magic: The Gathering (I started in Alpha, and still have some cards) I was so excited about the game and all the possibilities. From what have read, I think Thunderstone will help scratch this itch, transporting me back to those halcyon days.

4)Playability ~
This game too is said to have great solitaire playability.

1.Choice: Im a huge Fan of the Serie and i would love to have it, but unfortunately im moving together with my best 3 friends.
It should be like "Big Bing Theory" so the new civ game would be become very well played

2.Choice: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/47185/warhammer-invas...
Because Warhammer is awesome and i would love "Magic" in a "Blue Moon" style of collecting game. They call it "Living Card Game".

Thanks a lot for the contest!!!

First game: Confucius. Why? Becouse it's a dificult game to find here in Spain and after to read the Gelete's review, I think that's the perfect game to my game group.

Second Game: Egizia Why? Becouse it includes all I need to find in a eurogame: worker placement, diferent forms to score victory points, "secret missions" (aka the sphinx cards) and an armonic imporvement of the three points of the game (workers, grain and stones)

EDIT: My apologies: Egizia costs more than 30$. My second option is Thurn und Taxis: all roads lead to Rome, becouse I have the original game and I like the new options.

Why:
So, I have this problem.
My problem is this:

a) I love board games.
b) I have no money to buy new games.

I use my collection of games to bring people together, to have fun and to laugh.

Ticket To Ride would make a great addition to said collection, because it's easy to learn and play, fairly quick, and involves several people.

So, I guess I have a third item to add to the list above:

c) Ticket To ride would fit perfectly in my collection. See also item b).

(TTR is available for less than $60 from BoardGame Revolution (FLGS FTW), shipping extra. It should still be under $60 all told, though. If not, Geekmail me and we'll work something out)

Second Choice:
I would also like to recieve Vanished Planet. I've been eying it for years, but have never been able to pull the trigger. Also see item b). (Available for $30, shipping included, from the publisher's website. )

Thanks for this wonderful GeekList.

First choice: Container. Strange reason. My collection, while not large by Geek standards, already has several games that have not been played at all and several others that rarely see play. So I promised myself to only buy games that I'm sure will see frequent play or ones that are going out of print or are on an incredible sale so that the opportunity to buy these cannot be missed. Container is a game that I'm very interested in and doubt I'll get to play it often (or even at all) for a long while. This GeekList may just be the only way I can allow myself to get it anytime soon (unless it goes on sale soon, which I don't expect).

Second choice: Acquire. Why? I could write something lengthy, but the bottom line is, it's truly a masterpiece I want to have at some point. If that point coincides with Agnes's birthday, that would be great

First let me say congratulation on being GOTW and wish Agnes a Happy Birthday!

My Mother in Law passed away and I'm in the process of auctioning off a lot of games on Geekbay (AUCTION OVER Mother with terminal cancer needs expensive care/ funeral expenses Auction - More Games and soft reserves added) in order to pay for the costs we incurred during her illness. I'll be on a buying hiatus for awhile so a new game would be a very pleasant surprise.

Neue Heimat would be my first choice. I've been wanting this game for a long time. It's a game I'd love to have but probably will never own it if left to my own devices.

Arcana would be my second choice.

Thanks for doing this...good karma will come back to you I promise.

Thank you for your generosity and your support of the community.

The game I'd love to get is Defenders of the Realm. I've seen lots of people playing with Richard Launius his playtest versions but didn't get to try it until playing the retail version last month. I love that it's cooperative and I like the theme more than Pandemic. It looks like it will play equally well as a solitaire game and with up to 4. I'd like to paint the figures like Richard does with his games, so at my pace I can expect to get months of work enjoyment out of this game.

I've seen this for under $60 at online retailers, but if it's too expensive I'd be more than happy to pay for shipping or help cover the cost otherwise.

The second game I'd like is Royal Palace. I've played this twice as a two player game and enjoyed it a lot.

Good luck to everyone and congrats in advance to the winners. I hope the rest of us get a microbadge for this.

My first choice would be Steam. When it came time for me to purchase my first real Train game it was a toss up between the tried and true Age of Steam or the yet to be released Steam. I went with the former for fear Steam may never hit the market due to legal issues. Now that I've played both, I wish I'd have got with the latter (not as harsh on new players and looks prettier). It's really tough to justify the purchase of a similar game and this solution would be perfect!

Second choice - Power Grid. I've never owned my own copy because everyone else in my gaming group already owns it. But you know, that's really not enough of a reason not to own a fabulous game.

Pick One- Last Night on Earth
I would love to add a Zombie game to my collection and my wife would love for me to have a Zombie game, she just loves Zombies!!!!

Pick Two- Ra
I some how have missed this classic in my collection. It's slightly more then $30, but I'll cover the difference or shipping or whatever, I'd love to add a solid Auction game to my game shelf!

Thank you very much for the opportunity!!!

Brian

Well, I don't know if you'll actually be able to read this far since I'm number 602, but what the hey. I really like the reviews of seen/read here on this game and I'm worried that Rio Grande may not actually get around to doing an English version here in the states. I don't mind the little bit of in game German text and hope that I'll be able to get this game before it goes out of print. Keep up the good work Raiko, you make us proud.

Why? Cuz it looks so cool. I love Descent and grew up playing D&D. Just dying to have this game.

Second Game: The Magic Labyrinth (NOT The Amazeing Labyrinth) for my kids that are really getting into games right now.

Thanks for your generous offer!

My wife and I have played this once, when a friend got his copy out to play, and she loved it!! So If I get a copy, it should get played alot.

My second game is Knock Down Drag Out: The Wild West Fighting Game. This game seems like a game that same friend would love to play.

Thanks for doing this!!!

Loves me some deckbuilding games, loves me games that take 45 minutes or less.

#2: Lost cities. I'm an archaeologist, so it's a travesty I don't own this game. Plus, the game is light enough for my archaeo-buddies to try without being overloaded by rules.
