This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
The Weekly Thrift List Wayback Machine The Grand Vizier is maintaining a list of all the weekly thrift lists through time, and will be adding stats and interesting tidbits for each week. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/48522

The box is slightly larger than I normally am eager to ship, but I had never seen it before, and the contents were still sealed. It has an interesting peg board design that intrigued me, and I grabbed it for $1.99 (Rochester GW). Checking the game page now, I see that it was just published in 2009 - a gift? someone moving away? I don't know how it got there, but it's interesting.
I left behind a Billionaire because it was a large box, and was of dubious completeness. There was a Nascar Pictionary new in shrink that I debated trying to put on eBay, but at $3.99, I wasn't sure if I'd just be breaking even or losing money, and the box is an awkward size/shape to ship. I've been selling so many DVDs and books lately that I've been spoiled, they're so easy to ship. Checking the listings now, I'm glad I didn't waste my money. It doesn't sell even at $.99 or $1.99.
I'm happy with my finds - I consider it a successful trip
Just received this order off of amazon marketplace. Couldn't wait to thrift it and ended up paying $15 after shipping. Have been wanting this for a while. The listing said it was complete, but when I opened it, it was missing a green die, 3 carnage tokens and the zinc football. The other missing parts I can live with out, but I want my zinc ball! Anyone have a spare?
Like Mark, I'm also starting at the end. Appeared complete - I checked the battery compartment for corrosion before buying, but wont' get to do a full inventory. I already gifted it to a zombie-game loving friend it for his birthday about 2 hours after buying it. $4, VV.
Wasnt' until my third go-over that I spotted this, because the picture was torn off the top cover. $2.99, all figures and dice present, appears to be missing only one thing. Say it with me now... the zinc football.
Those pickups from VV were just icing on the cake, though. After spending several sweaty hours setting up my classroom, I'd taken a side trip to pick up some games from a CL sale out in Brooklyn. It was originally 8 games for $50, then became 6 for $40, then 7 for $49, with the promise that if he got the last one back from his sister's house, he'd let me know. I'm happy with the deal as-is, so I'll just chalk it up as 7 games, $7 each. All were AH wargames.
It was funny; he just wanted to make sure the games found a good home, which I promised him they would get. Someone else emailed him, bugged him for lots of photos, etc. and he didn't want to bother with the hassle. It's good to be low-key.
Then, two other guys emailed him after me; one was supposed to come Friday, but had to cancel at the last minute, and as long as I was already there, he just sold me all of them to be done with it, since I clearly was enamored of the games. Which I am. I didn't inventory them or ask him to; he clearly had loved them well, so I'm sure that they're more or less complete.
Oh, yeah, one other thing; he also gave me about a dozen issues of The General, all of which had articles relating to one or another of the games he sold me, including an all Panzerblitz issue, and a special D-Day issue.
It was such a nice haul that I liked it better than the $70 I won at poker last night (where I gave my friend his Mall Madness). And now we're back where we began, at the end.
Oh, one last thing. A few days ago, on a trip to VV, I saw a Puzz 3D, in the original shrink. I'd never bought one before, but had always wanted to build one. Then I got it home and took a quick look on ebay and the interwebs. It was an 819 piece LotR Cathedral of Minas Tirith puzzle. Couldn't find any completed auctions on ebay, but it goes new for $120. Yowza. Already up for sale.
