Excellent game...highly interactive system.

This is my favourite game on the subject for years. But I had yet to conquer the game.

PRobably the best game out there (with emphasis on game).

I am looking forward to GMT reprint of this game very much so. They underestimate the sales of this and so produce less than the demand. People like me who don't P-500 missed this game.

Sorry about your luck, Comrade, but it appears that GMT has nixed even a Project 500 reprint. Best try your luck on Ebay; that great capitalist orgy of commercialism.

I've considered buying this a few times but the complexity puts me off.

This is the definitive game on the subject before Triumph of Chaos. I hope that Decision Games could push this one higher on the reprint list from their vast ocean of SPI titles copyright. Again, the number interested in the subject might not prove there is an audience for a reprint.

Indeed a classic, if a bit dated now. Far from complex(!?), it is a bit overly simplistic, and the movement needs to be toned down a notch. The solitair rules aren't worth the extra patges and ink needed to print them. Other than those valid crticisms, however, a great game for 4 or 5 (5 being "just right" in my exprience).

I miss this game very much as my copy was lost somewhere in my sea of collection. I couldn't find it to replay it for more fun. Sad. I should find it again.

Trotsky warned the Soviet Central Commitee: "We have operating against us for the first time, a regular army led by good technicians". Pilsudski, who was made Marshal of Poland, thus becoming the supreme commander of the armed forces, successfully defended Warsaw against the Soviet army in a large, final battle in September 18, 1920. This was known as the "Miracle at Vistula River." This resulted in a preliminary agreement on October 12 which was ratified by the Treaty of Riga on March 12, 1921. Historic Poland was nearly restored, although Lithuania as well as the other Baltic states were not included.

It is a very rich game, both in historical transgression and flavour. I played this on 22 Jan 06 the first time, as close as we can get to the captioned: Stalin banishes Trotsky January 11, 1928, the 78th anniversary of the event. Trorsky was exiled to Mexico where he was assasinated by Stalin's agents.

In our game, they fought shoulder to shoulder with Red Armies on the Don Front.

The designer of this game told me he thought it up after reading Simon Sebag Montefiore's 'Stalin - the court of the red Tsar'. (A fascinating must-read for anyone interested in the subject IMHO.)

Fantastic book. Even with the glut of information and publications following the collapse of the USSR (Stalin now outranks Hitler as far as books being wrtten about him). This book is a must read for anyone interested in Soviet history.

The Poles tried to take parts of the Ukraine (in 1919). they were more the aggressors than the Soviets.

Sadly, now looking like more early 2008.
