For those of you who are new to the Secret Santa List:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order.

In years past this list has been heavily monitored as the gifting season approaches and I am sure the same will hold true this year.

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

To see Simon Hunt's statistical breakdown of previous years' Secret Santa:

UPDATE New list: Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2010

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2009

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2008

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2007

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2006

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

A tad tardy on my part, but I just wanted to say my Secret Santa totally rocks! The first thing to pop out of a very large and friendly size parcel was Dominion: Intrigue! Dominion is one of my favourite games, and I've already kicked my husbands and friends butt at this game several times since opening it

Then Fagin's Gang fell out, I've not had a chance to play this yet, but I'm getting ready for a few games over crimbo.

Then I also found Dixit 2, which we're definitely be playing over crimbo

And last but not least, a little extra something from the guys at Shire Games, a "choose who starts" dice

Thanks Santa and Shire Games, you rock!

Well, it took all of several days for me to buckle under the pressure and crack open this beastly box of games from my Secret Santa - and much to my pleasure and surprise, this box was loaded with three AWESOME games.

...scissors out, cut tape, open box, reveal hundreds of pink packing peanuts, start rifling through those, a $5 Holiday Gift Certificate to CoolStuffInc appears, dig a little deeper, a Box of Cuban Cigars... wait, no, that's Famiglia
. OOOHHH YEAH! (Jon smiles widely) This game looks great, and it IS great (Yep, the wife and I have already played it three times). Next up, Wizard
. I love Oh Hell; great card game - very excited about this version. NICE. (Jon high-fives the air). We're done right? OH NO, we're not done yet.. that is a copy of Hansa Teutonica
. (Jon gets up to do a little Christopher-Walken-esque dance in the livingroom).

Secret Santa - you are great! Awesome work. I was very happy to give my gift in the exchange this year, but you've made me very happy to receive a gift as well. Many thanks,

Jon

My Secret Santa surprised me this year! I purposefully put some "affordable" games at the top of my list. But instead he went Ebay and found me a Blood Bowl team I did not have: The Norse Rampagers.

Oh no, that's not all! I also got Monopoly.

Monopoly: Chocolate

The tastiest version out there!

Thanks Secret Santa!

Vinhos

Woop de Doop, my Secret Santa is fantabulous. It's Vinhos, which I really wanted, what better excuse to drink wine and play games? I'd been tempted to by it at a F(not very L)GS at the weekend, because if I set foot in a real game shop I feel morally bound to buy a game, but had been told it wasn't even available in the UK yet, but Father Christmas found it, because that's how he rolls!

Thank you.

Hurrah!

I sat at work all day yesterday, refreshing the UPS tracking number that Santa had sent me. OUT FOR DELIVERY, it said, every single time. Last recorded at 2:54AM.

The time at work passed slowly. I got home at 5:00PM. I hadn't checked UPS for at least an hour, so surely the package had been delivered during that time. No? No. Bummer.

Heading on toward 7:00PM, I began to despair. My wife reminded me that we are close to Christmas, so the number of deliveries must have increased significantly. My retort was that, in my old town, even that never stopped the UPS man from pulling up later than 4:00PM.

"Your old town had a population of 4,000," my wife reminded me. Oh yeah. We just moved to a city of around 200,000.

So, just shortly after I began to despair, the UPS man walked up, gave a friendly wave, and deposited Santa's package at the front door.

It held Middle-Earth Quest and -- bonus of bonuses -- Android! Two games that I have been wanting to own, and two games which I fully intend to co-opt my (willing) family into exploring over this long holiday weekend.

Thank you so much, Santa! Your generosity has made my day, with residual good will spilling over into the rest of the week, and probably the month.

I have either been very very good or very very naughty this year, because I have the most amazing Santas in the International and Australia/NZ Secret Santas.

In our house, we believe that elves booby-trap gifts that are opened before Christmas Day, but I had a message from Santa to say that it was safe to open the box. Here's what I found in my international (shipped from the US) box:

I wondered whether I had a naughty Santa when I unwrapped the shipping box. Bedroom photos, Santa? Not quite what I was expecting ...

But no, Santa was just being thrifty. Looks like he and Mrs Claus may have moved some things around when they renovated at the North Pole this year.

Opening the box, I found not bedroom pictures but a snowy landscape of packing peanuts.

Under that was a layer of Christmas paper, with a teaser: a pack of card sleeves. Hmm. I wonder whether they will be needed?

Beneath them, gold ... a golden meeple on top of a home-made Christmas card! Santa, just wow. And some golden gifts, too. One of them rattles.

A couple of mysterious boxes were next

And, packed around them, some teeny tiny pots of jam. Delicious. I know what will be on the table for my Christmas-morning toast!

Here's the whole pile of goodness, complete with Christmas spices. Australian customs must have been having a generous day that day, to have let them through - they smell fabulous!

To my amazing Santa, who was good enough to let his name slip (Secrecy bah humbug - I love to know who to thank) - Merry Christmas, Steve, to you and your family. You are amazing.

My presents came a week ago and I've been trying to find the time to get some pictures up on the Geek, but I just haven't had the chance so I decided I'd just post to this list so I wouldn't forget.

A couple weeks ago my SS informed me that my present was on its way so I kept a good look out for it. I had a feeling that it would be arriving on a particular Saturday. Well on this Saturday I got ~18" of snow at my house. I got no package and no mail. My SS wrote me on Sunday saying that there may have been a hiccup. Thankfully the package arrived in good order on Monday and when I opened it up I saw a beautiful copy of Dominion. Finally I had it for my very own! I had come oh so close to getting it for my birthday. I can't wait to try it out with my family.

Then a couple days later I received another package (a stocking stuffer as my SS described) and it was a copy of the book "The Little Guide to your Well-Read Life". Which I'm very excited to read through as I love reading.

SS also said that something "digital" may be arriving closer to or on Christmas day. I'll be waiting to see what that is and posting it here when the time comes.

THANKS SECRET SANTA!

My Secret Santa sent possibly the biggest game box I had ever seen one game fit in. The delivery confirmation said it was going to come today, so I was excited when I saw the mailbox arrow down. I was dismayed when I saw no boxes on my porch. I walked the mail into the house and was grumbling about having to call the post office, but just as I walked in the doorball rang. The mailman had come around again and dropped the box off on the porch. Crisis averted.

I raced to open the package up and saw a very unique pastel painting. At first I wondered if it was a game or art. I opened the game box to see a crazy world of bits, pieces, tiles, and gemstones. I am certainly intrigued. I read up on the game here and from the looks of it's description it fits the bill of everything I look for in a game.

Thank you Santa!
Now, if you can find me the 4 hours to play it that would be nice.

Well I must have been good this year since I received a note from Santa that another box was on its way (Santa also sent Dungeons & Dragons: Castle Ravenloft Board Game which I posted about 20 pages ago).

He said this one would be Stocking Stuffers, Some Games For the Family and some DIY items.

Well I just got back from a trip and Santa's box was waiting for me. It was packed to the brim with stuff!

Cowabunga Which looks like a good family game

There were a TON of card games:
Knock! Knock!
5 different decks of Knights of the Dinner Table: HACK!
Clocktowers
Family Fluxx

A copy of Spielbox with the Carcassonne Tunnel Expansion.

A DIY Apples to Apples card printing kit, some Munhkin promo items, a sheet of blank Carcassonne tiles(!), a set of blank Dominion Cards and the Stash promo!

Finally probably my favorite item is a set of VERY nice Robo Rally red plastic tiles to use in place of the cards - I'm assuming they were hand made by Santa.

They are certainly picture worthy:

Thank you VERY much santa!

Today, Santa's elves had just dropped a note in the mailbox when the children got home from school. The elves were kind enough to wait till the children could recover the note and exchange it for Santa's parcel right away.

My husband wrapped the content. So when I finally got home this evening, there were four wrapped presents with my name on them laying under the christmas tree. We do open our presents on Christmas Eve, so I will update this post later this week.

Thank you very much already for your generosity Santa !

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Update :

Christmas Eve, so I was allowed to open my presents after dinner. My kind Santa got us two things of my wishlist and two things extra :

1. Tsuro , a game my daughter will never refuse to play with me;
2. Power Grid: France/Italy , the only Power Grid board I was still lacking to complete my collection;
3. a rainbow Treehouse set , so that I now have pyramids in 10 different colours;
4. Are You the Traitor? , a game I am not yet familiar with, but it appears to be a bit like Werewolf so it is something we will certainly enjoy at family gatherings.

Thank you very much Santa. Your gifts will give me and my family a lot of pleasure.

I had heard from my SS last week that the elves had screwed up and put me on the naughty list. After correcting this (obvious) error, and properly chastising the elves, Santa had them make an extra toy and ship it off post haste. He said it would arrive just in time for Christmas. Lo and behold, a package from Thoughthammer arrived today. My wife peeked and said there were two unwrapped boxes inside. With much difficulty, I agreed to let her wrap them and put them under the tree. Now I have to wait four more days to see what gaming goodness Santa has in store for me.

I hate waiting.

12/25/2010 UPDATE - It's Christmas Day and we opened our presents today. My SS dug deep into my wishlist and sent Yspahan, as well as

Pick & Pack

Somehow I never got a chance to play Yspahan, and now I have my own copy! Awesome! My wife and I are getting together with another couple to play games on New Years Eve, so hopefully it will get played then.

I played Pick & Pack once at a friend's house, an thought it very clever. My wife and I enjoy playing games on our camping trips, and Pick & Pack's small footprint makes it a perfect game for the camper.

Great choices, Santa! Merry Christmas!

A mysterious box arrived from my Secret Santa a few days ago.

Inside was a nice big wrapped game & a bunch of cool trinkets for the family...Some cool reindeer antlers, some jingle jangley Snowmen decorations & a cool glowy Santa that my kids loved. And some candy, but shhh, I kept that for my wife & I!

Now, the intent was to keep the present wrapped until Christmas day, however my 2 year old had other ideas & managed to get at it last night, so I finished the job for him this morning...

Dungeon Lords! A game I've been really keen to play since I first heard about it, but I always seem to miss out on it at gamenights! And now I've got my own shiny copy to play, I can force it on people

Thank you, Secret Santa! The kids love their toys and I got a great game!

Today a heavy package appeared in the mail.
Santa's package!

In it I found Conflict of Heroes: Kursk!

Components look very good: thick and nicely illustrated counters, sturdy boards and full-color rulebook. Can't wait to play this beauty...

Santa, thanks for this greát gift!

Walter
