My favorite number is 37 (take notice of my username).

How many games there are which board are made of, exactly, 37 hexagons?

Please, add.

Sorta qualifies. Although disc-shaped, the rings in Zertz basically function as hexagons. (i.e., if they were hexagonal, gameplay would not be changed at all.) And there are 37.

This one is sort of tricky, actually.

The game comes with 39 tiles, but only 37 are laid out at the start of the game. And two of those are removed before play starts. So depending on when you do the counting, it will either be 39, 37, or 35 hexagons.

Haven't looked if any of the published scenarios have exactly 37 hexagons, but you could always make your own. Probably for three players would be my guess.

There was only one, very specific, criteria for this list. Since you're not sure if it fits, it must not, right? Since the requirement was "exactly".

Nope, it's a "megahex", not an "asterix" - you forgot to "fill in the spaces" between the spokes.

This is most noticeable when you are at "medium" and "long" range (hex ranges two and three). There are some locations where you can not shoot your opponent as you rotate in increments of 60 degrees because they are in between your narrow arcs of fire.

One big give-away is that there are 223 pages in the book - basically 37 hexes with the enemy airplane in each hex adopting one of six possible orientations relative to your own airplane...37 x 6 = 222. The 223rd page basically covers situations in which the planes fly "out of visual range" and off the 37 hex map relative to each other.

I realized very early that the game played out on a virtual hex grid of 37 hexes. Almost everyone I played against thought in terms 90 and 45 degree angles as if it were played on squares. I think that accounts for my high kill ratio.

Babylon5 CGS also has a hexagonal configuation that adds up to 37 for 4-6 players. It also has an exploring aspect (tiles are unknown initially and >>37 tiles exist). A picture of it isn't on the geek... I may pull it out to add a pic of the game board set up (rather than just components).
