This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

$12.99 @ GW. WAY more than I would normally pay for a game, especially since I have not played it before (though I do own another copy), but the game is the one showed, and is a nice wood folded case, with metal cars and trackers. Just too beautiful of game to pass up.
This. It looked interesting, so I got it without knowing anything about it. On closer inspection, the box is a bit battered, but everything inside is not only undamaged, but also unpunched. Seems it's worth a bit as well
Two 's for me today. First I found a complete set at GW for $0.96, and then decided to check in at the Faith Mission thrift store that never has anything good. They had a stapled-shut zip lock bag with a Deluxe Scrabble tile bag inside, and it felt pretty full. $0.60 later the 95 mahogany-colored Deluxe Scrabble tiles are mine.
Would have loved a Deluxe Scrabble board, but I'm quite happy with just the tiles.
Do the Deluxe Scrabble tiles sell any better than normal tiles on E-bay? Is it worth trying to complete this set and sell for gamers, or is the 95 tiles fine?
Worked at a different location today so I went to the New Hampshire Ave Value Village/Unique combo. Got a nice skunk costume for my son on the Value Village side and this cool looking Ravensburger on the Unique side. Inventorying at home, it's only missing one neutral token which doesn't affect game play at all. My daughter immediately requested to play it, so we did. The pyramids look nice, have a nice feel to them and it's fun sliding them all around. It's much more than just another memory game. I won, but she was still interested in playing again. $1.91.
Wow it's been dry lately. I'm really liking the dry weather; it was an extremely wet and rainy spring and summer. I'm not liking the dry thrifting much though. The GOLO I found yesterday at VV for $3.99 is the only game I've found worth picking up in almost a month.
I was hoping the dice in this would match my Yahtzee: Texas Hold'em set, which is missing one white die. I failed to notice that the "white" dice in the Texas Hold 'em set are actually ecru. At least I have a neat dice shaker.
From an animal rescue charity shop, on their 20p table, a battered little box containing a Subbuteo squad - Ipswich Town, apparently. No goal keeper, and one man awol, but the other 9 players are unbroken and will fill in the gaps in my current Subbuteo set. Well worth the 50p that I generously paid, but the little old lady on the counter chided me for my joy at finding "boys toys".
I finally found my Buffy --- YEAH! I've been cutting back on my thrifting but just had to pass by Deseret while on an 'errand'. My excitement would be slightly dampened though when an inventory revealed that I'm missing 6 research cards. For $1, no complaints here. Another grail crossed off the list!
$5.99 at GW. I may have pulled the trigger too early on this one. Couldn't think straight after finding my Buffy. Anyway, what I picked up is the 3-in-1 Pirate Games version which included a chess and checkers set. Thinking of returning this since it only has 7 of the cool metal checker pieces.
Second hobble of the week to the various charity shops. I was in search of pumpkins for next week so took the opportunity.
first up was this one. I'd spotted it on my Monday trip but wasn't sure. Checked the 'Geek on my return & it had good reviews so dropped in to see if it was still there (decent chance as I may well be the only game thrifter in town (unless you count people that actually want Monopoly))
It was still there...but I didn't fancy lugging it around all day so I asked if they could put it to one side for me- no problem, they just told me their closing time that day & placed it safely behind the till. nice people Complete- £1
There's a nice long stretch in the next town- about 1/2 mile & 6 charity shops plus a 'vintage store'...which is right opposite where I needed to end up. Nothing much in the first few (some Scrabble & a regular Boggle) but the last one had this & the next item. This'll be good for the nephews Complete- £1
