After the highly succesfull (?), beloved (??) and acclamed (???) geeklist about upcoming card games for 2010 it is time to create the new one for 2011.

Again, I'll list - and I'd like you to list - the upcoming card games, expansions for card games, promos for card games and whatever is related to card games which is being published in 2011.

Thanks a lot for any contribution.

mbmbmbmbmb
Farming card game available on The Game Crafter.

From the game page:
"Farmageddon is a game of chance and strategy. Players must plant , tend, and harvest crops in order to earn money. But, they must do so before their opponents undermine their efforts!

The goal of the game is to have the most money when the game ends. The game ends when there are no more crops to plant (i.e. the Crop Card deck is empty). There are 3 shared planting fields. Players play a crop card (4 types) on one of the three planting fields, which occupies the field until the crop is harvested or destroyed. Each of the four crops pays out a different amount of money when harvested. However, to be harvested they must have the required amount of compost. Compost is created by flipping over a crop card to turn it into compost. The final element to the game are Farmer Cards. These are used to protect your crops, destroy your opponents' crops, and generally throw a wrench in the strategy of others. Players begin the game with 2 Farmer cards, but must buy additional cards at the end of each turn."

mbmbmbmbmb
New deck building game.

From the game page:
"In Feudalia you control three feuds with one small village included in each feud. A small population of vassals work in those feuds and provide you with resources or make you earn money, considering both things necessary in order to make your small village grow, increasing your population, specializing your vassals and hiring the great masters.

Apart from trying to have the most prosperous feuds, you must help in the construction of the cathedral the king demands for his own sake and glory. Both these matters will face the tax collector putting pressure on you and the uncertainty of possible attacks from the neighbouring feudal lords, although negotiation is another way to achieve your objectives."

Quick explaination from the game's page:

"Everyone is informed of the terrible cataclysm which endangers this little planet at the far end of our galaxy. We have to help the different races that inhabit it, as they have no choice that to seek refuge on new planets. Today, we learned that Earth will welcome 5 different extraterrestrial tribes: the Bloups, the Paroks, the Faars, the Mutas and the Napils. The issue is that no-one is able to predict how these 5 species will co-habit together...

The game is played in several turns, each made of 2 phases:
- New Flouks
- Entrance in the Village

Each player takes 4 cards, keeps 2 of them and give the 2 others to his neighbors. Everyone then choose one of the cards in his hand and play it simultaneously. The cards are resolved in the following order: Decrees, Flouks, Chief Flouks then Actions.

Decrees have an effect only on their owner: it increases the amount of a type of Flouks depending on a some conditions. The action of a decree lasts all game long and we can have only 1 decree per village.

The Flouks are only used to populate the village. The Chiefs Flouks can enter a village only if a Flouk of the same specy is already there. The Chief has a power which apply when he enters the village.

The actions all have different effects that apply only when they are played."

Also added in the Ideal Game Library by Bruno Faidutti.

Real-time game for 3-8 players.

From the game page:
"Foutrak is a speedy pattern-recognition game from Cocktail Games in which players duel to claim cards.

On a turn, the active player challenges one of the other players. They then turn over the top card of the deck. Each card has 1-4 numbered illustrations on it, and each illustration is either yellow, blue or green. If an illustration is yellow, the players must make an action appropriate for the image; if blue, the player must make an appropriate sound; and if green (i.e., blue + yellow), the player must make both sound and action.

Whichever player first makes the appropriate combination of sounds and actions in the right order claims the card. (The other players can serve as judge to determine the winner.) Whoever claims the most cards wins the game."

mbmbmbmbmb
A print&play card game which is influenced by Innovation.

From the game page:
"Your flagship has wandered into uncharted space and you've suddenly detected an unknown vessel with its weapons readied and shields raised! Will you be able to survive the encounter?

GalaXism (guh-lax-iz-um) is a starship combat game for 2-6 players that should take about an hour to play. Players control the flagships of ten different races, playing their cards as increases to shields, weapons, defenses, and various other ship statistics.

Cards are laid out around a flagship, each section corresponding to a different side of the ship from forward, aft, starboard, and port. In addition, there's the command deck where the ship is controlled. The upgrade cards have 4 icons each and are shifted up, left, right, and up-right to reveal more icons during the game.

This game is heavily influenced by Innovation but taken in a different way."

mbmbmbmbmb
New 2011 edition of this 2006 card game.

From the game page:
"Get Bit! is a card game where players are competing to stay alive as the others are being eaten by the shark.

The order of the swimmers is determined by simultaneously playing cards face-down then revealing the values. The number on each player's card determines position in line (higher numbers in front, lower numbers in back), however ties don't move. The swimmer at the back loses a limb to the shark and is flung to the front of the line! The process is repeated until only two swimmers remain on the table. When this happens, the swimmer at the front of the line wins the game!"

The tagline is wonderful.

"You don't have to be faster than the shark, just faster than your friends!"

Set collection card game from Michael Schacht.

From the game page:
"Gold! Gold! Nothing but gold as far as the eye can see. Well, to be honest the landscape holds a few donkeys, too, and while donkeys can help carry all that gold, they'll also eat into your savings if you aren't careful.

Gold! consists of a 60-card deck, with cards in six colors; each color has gold cards valued 3-8 and a few donkeys worth -2. Each player starts the game with a different-colored donkey, then two cards are removed from play and five cards laid out face-up. On a turn, a player can:

- Take the lowest valued card on display, with donkeys always being worth less than gold, and add it to his tableau.
- Exchange one gold card from his tableau for a lower-valued gold card.
- Exchange a donkey from his tableau for a gold card of any value.

Whenever a player collects three cards of the same color, he must score it. First, though, he can pilfer a card in a color not present in his tableau from an opponent.

When the last face-up card is claimed, five new cards are revealed. Once the final set of five cards is claimed, players compare their totals in each of the six colors; whoever has the highest total in a color scores the highest gold card of that color. Players then sum the cards in their score piles, and the player with the highest score wins."

One of the most interesting new card games of 2010 gest his first expansion in 2011.

From the game page:
"The Shadow Goblins come from the other side of The Portal! Which Portal will you ask? As you know, the Dark Goblins that you discovered in the main game have a trapping power. When they use it, as you may see on some artworks, the trapped goblin is in effect thrown out through The Portal. For decades now, returning goblins have reported having encountered members of a mysterious and frightening goblin clan … The Shadow Clan!

These goblins are very similar to the Dark Goblins, mainly because of the two powers they have in common: Trapping and Zombie Mutation.

These new goblins will also bring along two new types of gameplay. First of all, some of these goblins will arrive in play already trapped, compensating for a greater power. Secondly, other goblins will introduce a new kind of action during his turn, like [*Trap Zäxg* : Choose 1 FREE card then destroy it.]. In this example, your action will be to trap Zäxg for free in order to destroy a card. This action is free and only requires the trapping of the goblin card having the power."

A new card game (collectible?) in the Anima universe.

From the game page:
"Seeing the end of their era, gods of Gaia start the struggle for dominance. In this two-player card game opponents take parts of Lilium, the Lady of the Forest, and Umbra, the Spirit of Darkness, trying to destroy each other. Each side is represented by 3 Summoners with different abilities. On a players's turn he decides which one of his Summoners to use. Decks consist of creature cards that can be summoned during play and sent to attack opponent or block his offence. Certain creatures may be united into powerful combos. Some special abilities are activated with Divine Seals that have to be accumulated during play. The first player to reduce his opponent's Gnosis Points to zero or to destroy all opponent's creatures wins.

Not compartible with Anima card game series."

After the very good Omen: A Reign of War Small Box Games is about to publish another interesting 2 player game.

From the game page:
"Twilight has loomed for decades. Rumors of the coming sun run across the city's dark alleys and corrupted courtyards. Impromptu festivals catch like wildfire as the denizens of the dark city usher in the season of the sun. You have precious few nights of perpetual moonlight remaining to tighten your grip on the city's great districts before the moon sets – and once the sun rises, all of your deeds will come to light, and a new age will dawn on Hemloch.

In Hemloch, each player has access to his own deck of minions belonging to five different factions: The Courtesans, The Darkened, The Ghouls, The Alchemists, and The Geared. Each turn, players place these minions into one of four locations in the city. Minions grant the players special abilities on their own, but playing Minions of certain factions into certain cities grants the player additional abilities.

Players score points by acquiring Potions and Trinkets (which may also be used for additional abilities at the cost of points) and by placing Influence markers in the various Locations."

New card game by a new author, Peter Steinert. Published by Amigo.

From the game page:
"The birds have been hopping over the Hippos back all days search for bugs. Come dusk the hippos want to rest and the birds had better watch out.

Hippo Hopp consists of 28 Hippo cards with a number between 1 and 8. A circle of 19 cards is placed face up and the remaining 9 are placed face down as a draw pile. Once players have had a chance to memorise the circle, all cards are placed face down. Players then take turns turning one card in the circle face up and moving the bird pawn that many spaces clockwise. If they land on a face down hippo they are safe and score one point for every face up hippo they passed. If they land on a face up hippo they take the card as a penalty (-2 points at the end of the game) and replace it from the draw pile. Instead of choosing a card from the circle, players may discard any other player's penalty card and move that many spaces.

The game ends when the draw pile is empty. The player with the most points wins."

Interesting card game about bluff and story-telling.

I already added it some time ago in my geeklist about the "Sons of Dixit" and now here it is in this one too, as it is being published in 2011.

Too bad there is no much information about it yet, just these two lines on the game page:
"A hilarious card game of cons, swindles, and scams! Players use cards to build the best scam and then vote on which scam they would fall for. The player with the most votes after several rounds wins."

Enough to keep me interested.

Initially slated for a end-of-2010 release, this boxing card game for 2 players has shifted to Janaury 2011.

From the game page:
"JAB is a strategic boxing card game unlike anything you've played before. In JAB, you get direct control over your boxer's fists, providing an experience as close as possible to real boxing without getting punched in the face. JAB is real-time. There are no turns. You can play as fast as you want, but remember: playing smart is more important than playing fast."
