Help me find 2 player games that my wife would play too!

I am relatively new to the geek. I have lurked around here and there but never really posted a whole lot. I don't know if there are a lot of these lists out there so I apologize in advance if this is something you see everyday.
I play a lot of PC Wargames. MATRIX GAMES makes a lot of good ones like Battles in Normandy, Steel Panthers World at War, Korsun Pocket, War in the Pacific, and Highway to the Reich.
I have played all the games listed above but the only board game other than Monopoly, Yatzee, and Risk has been ASL. Yeah I know what you all are thinking, thats a helluva game to tackle for your first, but I have been learning it since November and have a fairly decent grasp of it.
What I am looking for are 2 player games that I could get my wife to play. She isn't the WWII buff that I am and Wargames whether Strategic or Tactical level, are not of much interest to her.
She has never really played anything other than yatzee or the other typical american classic type games but she said she is open to new ideas and would welcome the change of pace from me playing on the computer and her watching TV.
With that being said, let me show you what I have been looking at.
Please feel free to add games that you think would suit us.
-edit- Forgive me if the pictures are terrible. For some reason my browser isn't showing them at the moment but I don't want to start this list again.

This game looked simple and short. Maybe it would be a good introduction to games for my wife.

A card game that looks similiar to Magic. I don't know how much the mechanics are alike but my wife made mention that she had played Magic with her brother once or twice when she was a little younger.

I have had my eye on this for a little while. It looks fun but I don't know if it would be too complex or not.

Ok I added this just because I really want it. I think I would have just as tough a time trying to find an opponent as I do with ASL though.

Browsing the BGG you probably already saw this one. A very good (I know, it's a matter of taste) 2 players game, and from my own experience a very pleasant hus./wife game. Not war-related, could be focused on building and trading. There are variants and expansions.

This is my favorite of the games that I've picked up to play with my wife and she likes it quite a bit, too. It has a lot of the things I like about Puerto Rico in a two player game, it isn't overly complex, and it plays fairly fast. But it does have more depth than most card games, coming close to the feel of a board game.

Believe it or not, a friend brought this over and I got my wife to check it out. She actually had fun. It is light and fast enough to not make her zone out, and has enough wargame to make me feel all manly :-)This is now on my want list and may be a good game that you would both enjoy. I would recommend not dumping this one on her right away though or you could scare her away!

I was looking at this one too. If anyone has played it before can you let me know how it worked out?

Can't believe I am the first to say this one. Perfect non-gamer game. My wife loves it.

This is an excellent 2 player game with each player taking two colors. If you wife likes the tetris-type games, this should be a hit. I don't know why, but Blokus seems to be favored by women. A decent game that I do not mind playing....would enjoy it more if my wife didn't ask to play it quite so much.....

Excellent small card game that can be played almost anywhere. Fast and it plays with equal amounts of luck and skill, it's a great way to keep your mind sharp between heavier games.

Well, since you are relatively new to the Geek you should be introduced to this game, which always seems to show up on similarly titled lists.

Try this one before the classic Carcassonne. I think it is much better as a 2-player. Many other players who tried both think the same.
