As a complement to the fine list by Cerebel (see http://www.boardgamegeek.com/geeklist.php3?action=view&listi... for his list), I thought I would do a list of the more easy-paced games, where you log on, take your turn, then wait for the email to tell you to take your next turn. These are great for that quick fix of gaming during the day, for giving that bit more thought to a set-up and just for fun and practice during those times when you are not (supposedly) gaming. They are not for the impatient - often games take several weeks to complete, especially if you have players in different time zones!

The first one is of course here at the Geek, where we can enough the Knizia classic and also Auf Heller und Pfennig, though the majority are definitely playing T&E.

A great implementation and plenty of players out there to play against.

A recent server change from http://puertoricogame.net,
Trond Meistad has created a nice implementation of Puerto Rico and now the site is looked after by Phil Baker. You can play online via browser refresher or at the more leisurely pace and also includes the 2-player version.

There are plenty to play this one too. Play here is free but donations to help keep up the site are appreciated.

ooh! A reasonable way to learn PR! I tried learning on BSW once but it was a struggle. I have heard so much that I need to try. Thanks for the info.

And thanks for the list too! These work better for me so I can work and just periodically check on my games (and not get locked into playing a game for an hour).

Yeah me too, I don't play much online in real-time as I could be playing face-to-face then (or something like working :shake: doing chores, etc...). But a turn or two sprinkled through the day is very nice!

I should add it takes long time to play a game of Puerto Rico. Longer than T&E I would say.

Another very nice interface, a very attractive way to play Wallenstein. Also another game called Bus, which I don't know, but the majority play Wallenstein. Again, lots of games going on. Very nice site!

UPDATE: more games available: Amun-Re, Hoity Toity and Reef Encounter. Others are on the way (El Grande and Santiago). One of the best sites around for play-by-web Eurogames.

I also interpreted it as always showing 5.

The translation says

"When all players have completed an action, the action card is turned upside down and the next covered action is revealed."

I can see it both ways, but my impression is that means after action 1 you reveal action 6, after action 2 you reveal action 7 etc.

Well...its very likely I misinterpreted what I read. Or that I was working from an earlier version of the translation that was unclear/incorrect. It makes more sense to me to play it the way the online version has it programmed...with vision of 5 cards ahead as you go. I'm glad to be corrected on that point.

Little Golem has quite a few games available to play and I am probably misrpresenting it by putting the only game on the site with a luck element. But it was the one that lead me to the site. The majority of games are the classic abstracts: Go (9x9, 13x13 and 19x19), Chess, Reversi/Othello, plus modern ones like Dvonn and several others including Street Soccer. I have been playing there a while now and it is a busy site which runs tournaments and also supports more casual play.

I've gone here, interested to play street soccer (got to learn it though) and I get lost on the page.

Anyone help me out? I'm fairly savy, but the links here lose me. I don't want tournament play, but I'd love to learn it.

My experience has been that the best online site to play streetsoccer is mastermoves.eu. You can get to play with your own uniform colors!!
Also there are more undiscovred online games on mastermoves that are rewarding. All have an element that I personally enjoy most in games. That is theme! If you prefer 'themes'with good gameplay rather than straight 'abstracts' mastermoves gives you alot to choose from. The league championships finish an average of 3months FASTER than LGolem.
And for the streetsoccer players. The known best streetsoccer player in the world plays in this championship! And as all you ss players know, that is FC Cwali. His record at the old LG site is incredible, not to mention the string of Div 1 chmpships there that he pocketed. Until you have won back to back titles(which no player has done yet at mastermoves, even Cwali himself, giving you an idea how tough that Division 1 is) at Mastermoves you can never really lay claim to be Top Dog!! Enjoy mastermoves.eu

I place this here with some trepidation. It is a workable interface but not playable without owning (or having access to) the cards. This is at the request of Fantasy Flight Games I believe.

Also, no new games are being created right now. There are too many bugs in this beta version and they are having obstacles in getting the new one up. So until the new one is up you cannot play.

The up side is that there are lots of eager players and it is fun. Something to keep an eye on though.

Too slow? I don't think so. With active players, it plays very quickly and even with once a day moves, it moves quick enough. Play-by-web gaming is not usually for the impatient. :)

The Cartagena implementation here is EXCELLENT :arrrh:.

King Me!, though, is only for one round. Therefore, to me, it loses ALL of the angst of whether to use a veto vote now, or wait for a later round. Still, if you are like me and haven't played it elsewhere, it's worth checking out.

According to the King Me! rules, you get all your "No" cards back at the end of every round. Thus there isn't really a significant difference between playing one round and playing three (other than the ability to "shoot the moon" in the third round).

But does it really matter? The geeklists a game are in are listed on the game's page, so from the other end, this is really useful. Super Duper's games are exactly the kind of games you would like to know where to play, if you stumbled across them on BGG.
