This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

Found a Clue Master Detective. Unfortunately this one is in rough shape. Missing all but one weapon. The pawns, dice and 18 pages of the notepad will go onto the Parts List though. So not a complete loss. $2.00 at Savers (30% off) in Glendale.
Not the copy shown. The 1995 version. Got it at value village for $2.99. Only missing one metallic fuel station. There was a letter in it to the game company asking rules questions and asking for more money. So there may be extra money.
Until this find of four HABAs I have only come across one other in my time (an incomplete copy of Orchard). This one unfortunately is woefully incomplete. It had only the boards, two monkey cards and the four adventurers. But considering these guys are made of wood and look like this:
I think I got my $2.80 (30% off) worth at Savers in Glendale.
Then there was this one. Also $2.80 at Savers but it is incomplete. This one was missing two of the Smuggler's loads and one rock outcropping. Still this one is very playable. Awesome components in this one.
The box was horrid, split, taped and sunlight damaged. However, this game was well used. It had but 5 unused player sheets (and every used one as well). It looks like the previous owners played the game to the end. The only reason I picked it up, was for spare parts (Keys, Scotland Yard cards) including the eight odd player pawns, like upside down mushroom clouds.
Found a 2nd copy to complete the first one I found a few weeks ago. My daughter and I have lots of fun explaining in the early turns why we suspect the various people, places and times even though we have no conclusive evidence. $1.28 at the Allentown Value Village.
Stefan Feld games are balanced and mathematically elegant while being obtuse, emotionally detached, and mechically inelegant. The most overrated designer of modern games. The King of JASE.
$3 at Savers. Like new/unpunched.
Doesn't look like much, but it's a cooperative made by the same publisher that does Max. Max gets all the attention ranked 19th in the children's category, but their other games seem to be just as good. This is actually THE game I was looking for over Max so I'm very happy with this unexpected find!
I became disheartened as I looked at the same collection of games that have been at this GW for several weeks. My heart started to beat a little faster as I spotted a Yahtzee Jr. (at least I'll pull some dice). It was not to be. The pricing gun overseer had priced this little bundle of golden dice at $4.00. I laughed at the thought of actually paying $4.00 for Yahtzee Jr. What next...really? Gas is getting too expensive...do I start lurking around parking lots with a syphon and can? The next time I forget my lunch, do I lure a customer to the basement, open a can of farva beans and a bottle of chianti? C'mon. So, I scanned the books...nothing. As I headed for the door, is that the word Codex in the children's books? Yep, times two. I got both a Space Marines and Tyranids Codex and at kid's books prices $.10 each. Eat it Lord of the Price Gun. EAT IT!
What's this, Villa Paletti? Oh sure, why not... Unfortunatly it is missing 9 of the 20 player cylinders. Missing are: Large Blue, Red and Green cylinders, and two each of the Small Red, Green and Yellow cylinders. Also missing is the die/seal and the Hook. I guess I could add these to another set to make the game more interesting. Or it could be parted I suppose.
I knew from these lists that this is a good one, and I'm looking forward to trying it with my older daughter. Complete and in excellent condition, except for the name in marker on the top. I'm sure it will come off with the white board marker method though. $1 Turnstyles
