This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.

So the wife and I are at Target (yay) and I make my usual futile trip to the games aisle hoping that Settlers has finally gone on clearance. I turn a corner and on the end cap is the 50% off clearance items and I spy this. Dominion?! When did they start carrying this? I pick it up and look at the top clearance tag (there are 2 meaning reduced again) and it's $11.24.
I stand there agape and say 'What? '
I quickly put it in my cart and grab the other copy behind it which reveals... (see next item)
Suitcase edition pictured. Appears complete minus the d20 kickoff die, which should be easily proxied with a reference chart without interrupting the gameflow too much. Case is in great condition considering the big 3-0 is coming up on this; hinges, clasps, and handle all tight and functioning but the score tracker will need to be glued down.
I'm not into football so much so I was planning to use this as trade bait, but after setting it up and marveling in it's beauty, I don't think I could let it go for what its worth. It's just amazing, especially for a dice lover like myself, a relic from the days when video games were not an option for simulating one's interests with friends.
This plus an unstickered Yahtzee Jr. at a charity yardsale for the low price of $5.00! They will set up again in two weeks, at which point I will scour thier game boxes for that missing die!
Didn't go to Goodwill for the past couple of days, so I was very optimistic this morning. The game shelves were extra-full, but I scanned a couple times and found nothing. As I got ready to go, I turned around to give a quick scan to the toy side of aisle. Standing on the floor in front of the toys was the most beautiful, elegant edition of Scrabble you can imagine-- the Frontgate catalog deluxe edition:
This picture is too small to do it full justice. Wood board/cabinet, with leather playing surface, with a full pullout drawer for the pieces, tiles in a leather bag, bound scorebook. Racks and tiles not the standard kind. A little research shows that this retails for $129 - $199.
This copy was never played, tiles still sealed, everything in the drawer in it's perfect place. No scratches on the wood. Only thing I'm missing is the outer box, if there was one.
Goodwill, $14.99. Price tag dated today, lucky timing for me.
Box was taped and a little worn but it felt heavy enough.
After inventory: Missing rules, 1 Greater and Lesser Event card (According to BGG inventory list). Game board is about to split apart. Haven't finished counting all the armies but they seem to be all present.
LEaving GW I dropped my daughter off at my parents as we were having our housewide werewolf party for my birthday that night. But first I stopped in at a local geeks place and bought this from a local geek....with my birthday money :-)
EDIT: Forgot to add that I only got this b/c the wife and I played this at Snakes and Lattes and she really enjoyed it (I feel it's a decent gateway area control game for her)
I have a few other of the 3M series & was curious about this one. Was willing to give it a try for $2.25. Appears to be complete but there is not a contents list in the instructions. I'm concerned the little plastic tiles with letters could be lost easily. Time will tell.

Defender of the Grid! "I Fight for the Users!"
Strolled into work today and this was sitting on my desk waiting for me! A gift from the thrift karma fairy. Opened it up to find a bunch of boards for the game and chits, with some still in the "sprues."
Don't know if this one will ever hit the table and it seems like a good seller on one of those Electronic Bidding sites... so we shall see!
