This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Belial I.
The Order's Anthem: Sing along with our good old thrifty theme song...
My girlfriend has a cousin that found out I like to thrift games so she asked me to keep an eye out for this one. Well I found one in really poor shape but for 1.25 at a hospital thrift could not pass it up.
said you weren't really a thrifter if you haven't found an Acquire, and I've cried myself to sleep every night since. Well, today I found my first Acquire. I held my breath, hoping for wood tiles, but saw black plastic. Still, very nice condition, and a happy find for $1.99, Rochester Savers.
I planned to trade this or help out people on the parts list, but Sam has claimed the fun castle bits. I wonder if this was the same one we saw at the yardsale over the summer, and it got donated. $1.99, Rochester Savers.
I left behind some playdoh games that might sell well, but that I didn't really want to deal with at the moment - Splat, Grape Escape. I also left behind a MB Scotland yard and a Discovery Toys edition of Bazaar. Nothing of interest at the GW - a Simpsons: Don't Panic game in shrink, but marked $9.99.
Wait, that's different. But, it's battleship. but, you can select different ships with different powers each game. But... it's battleship! I can't buy this! But it's Pirates. of course you're going to buy it!. But I can't---
$2.50 at GW. Everything was there but the buzzer had kicked the bucket. There were still 2 batteries in there and there was so much battery corrosion that it looked like it had just been recovered from the Titanic.
I had been feeling left out with all the sets found last week and this week so I had to find one. Rise of the Valkyrie First edition Sparkly water tiles. $3.00 Brigham City UT DI. Missing a few wound markers and one wing of the dragon. I guess I just have a wyrm dragon instead of a drake.
