The latest expansion for Resident Evil Deck Building Game came out on Friday, so I managed to play 2 rounds on Saturday with 3 friends. Pretty neat expansion that makes the game really difficult.

My favorite game ever for 4 players. I was behind my girlfriend by a ton; We were both building fast in the third round, looking at all the cards (which were enemies) and snatching up all the cannon pieces. I ended up finishing my ship a split second before her and being the leader, which allowed me to finish off all the enemies and clean house before she could even get a shot off. Final scores: 90-82-31-26. Me-Girlfriend-FriendWife-FriendHusband.

Post-Galaxy Trucker it was many many games of beer pong. Afterwards, this was the only game on the shelf we could still play reasonably well.

Played several rounds of this filler with 2-vs-2 speeding mode. That was really exciting! Can't wait to beat the new challengers next week!

Read the rules of Vasco da Gama (finally!) and schedule to try this this coming weekend! arrrh

The Seleucid invasion of Hispania was crowned with success when, just as their front and right were about to succumb to the Lusitanian onslaught, the Seleucid left broke routed the Lusitanian right, the resultant panic sending off the whole Lusitanian host in flight.

Yes, this really is what I looked like when I uploaded that avatar. Not that it's quite current anymore.

Our knight and prisoner found out that the prisoner is being targeted by his enemy... And are heading from venice to verona on horse. It's some hundred miles... and they've crossed 60. We didn't realize how CLOSE those two were. I suspect a revision to him being bound for milan, instead.

Wow, it is Wednesday and I haven't talked about the weekend yet? blush

OK, Friday night we played Race for the Galaxy and my Separatists got absolutely pummeled by my wife's Imperium Warlord. Not only did she win, but she claimed ALL SIX Goals as well. surprise

It was very pleasant over the weekend and we had lots of yard work to do after we had some big pines taken down in the week - that was pretty exciting, great tall trees hitting the ground with an appreciable thud! Some of our neighbors thought there was another earthquake! So after all that we were tired, going to bed early (I was yawning at 9pm).

But Sunday was better on the gaming front, as we got in an excellent game of Hacienda. My wife claimed the middle of the asymmetric board and spent a lot of the first half of the game generating a large amount of cash - she got a 7 point money bonus in mid-game. I had reached more markets, but was still behind. I continued my expansion and led in both markets and land but she had enough in haciendas and water to hold on. The final score: 178-178 (and she had the most money, of course).

After that, we tried some Pick Picknic as a wind-down game. I jumped out to a good lead in the first game and though she caught up in the 2nd half, I still was the comfortable winner. Not so much in the 2nd, where I think a runaway chicken I played meant my wife's fox did not eat so well and that -2 turned her narrow win into a narrow loss.

Yeah, that's right, I won the lucky filler - both of them - while she won the brain burning strategy game. Wait, what?
