Welcome everyone to the November 2011 Edition of the GeekGold for Game Lottery.

As you can see this month list took quite a while to be publish, this year has been chaotic and hectic, and until the redesign is finished it will be like this for a while unfortunately. So, to allow me time to do all, please, draw all the items after November 15th.

These are the Rules

Who can participate?
Everyone can take part of the system, with the following exceptions: new users cannot list items unless they are a patron.

How to bid for an item?
If you see an item on this geeklist that you're interested in owning:
1. It couldn't be more simple. Just tip that entry 1 and you are entered to win that game.
2. Check the description to see if you are allowed more than one entry on the item, and if there are bonus for multiple geekgold bid.
3. The bid is binding. Which means that once you bid the item it is assumed that you read the entry completely, understood and therefore want to take part of the drawing. The lister doesn't have an obligation to give your tip back although most won't have an issue. If for some reason an user withdraws from a lottery and should not be chosen as an winner, the lister should contact me to have his name ignored.

How to put an item on the lottery?
If you have a game that you're willing to part with for a little geekgold:
1. Post it as an item on the list.
2. Include a full description of the edition that you have and its condition. Be very clear on conditions, marks and box
3. Specify if you will be limited in shipping options. If you ship internationally, if the shipping is on you, and if so how much.
4. Specify when your item will close for entries.
5. You can post Board Games, Video Games, RPGs, and related items. You cannot make a lottery for Geekgold or something completely unrelated the main entry, although these types of item can be added as bonus or as second winners. You can put gift cards as long as it is for an store related with the domains (i.e. no gift card to a convenience or department store allowed, but one for steam, funagain, drivethru rpg, etc can be raffled).
6. Always link to the correct item on the database. So if you are auctioning the Video Game version of Puerto Rico link to Puerto Rico and not to Puerto Rico.
7. To guarantee that the item will appear on the subscription page, allow for at least 1 week between listing and drawing.
8. Miscellaneous game entries, like FIMO miniatures, pimp items, etc should be added using Miscellaneous Game Accessory, Miscellaneous Miniatures Game Accessory or Miscellaneous Card Game Accessory as appropriate.
9. The item must be draw between November 1st, 2011 and November 30th, 2011

Specific rules for types of item
1. For board games, contact me before adding homemade versions of non-Print and Play games.
2. For RPGs remember that the spirit of these lotteries is one of fairness. So, make sure that if you offer a PDF version of a given book, that you have the right to resell it, put on the item that it is indeed a PDF. Personal scans, illegal digital copies and xerox of books are not permitted.
3. For video games, no pirated or bootleg version is allowed. Remember that some online versions have pretty strict rules on what you can do with your copy. So when offering a game, make sure that you indeed can transfer the full ownership of it to the user. In case a new potential user would have some restriction with the new game, like not been allowed to access official online serves, add this information to the post.
4. If you are in some way connected with the item in question, either as a publisher or as a designer, contact me before posting any such item. And send me the wording you intend for the entry.

What to do when the lottery ends?
1. When closed, use the Copycat Awesome Tool to select an winner.
2. Contact that person and arrange shipment of the game.
3. Send them the game.
4. Edit your geeklist item on this list with a note saying that "THIS ITEM IS CLOSED!" and to put the avatar of the winner, use the code [ username=name_of_winner] (without the space) for that.
5. When an item is closed don't delete them.

How to use the Copycat Awesome tool?
1. Go to Copycat Awesome Tool;
2. Use your BGG login and password to log into the tool. The password is not kept by it, but it is sent directly to BGG for authentication.
3. On the Home Page of the tool there is a list with all of your listed items, just click on the correct one;
3.1 Optionally go to Items->Check Item and type the unique id for your item. To get the number right click the Postdate on the geekitem and check the #itemid part, that is the id;
4. Once you are on the item page, click the Roll Item button. The button will appear on the beginning of the date you want the drawing, as seen by the server (the server is located at the GMT-4 timezone)
5. The next page will have the name(s) of the winner(s) and a block of text you can copy to post on the tool if you want.

What should I do if the tool is incorrect?
Part of the tool is updated manually by me. The drawing date, number of winners, bonus and rules, are added by me on the tool based on what is written on the item. I usually do an update a week, so after I do that your item should correctly appear on the tool.
Before you draw check if the item is correct. Check the number of winners that are activated, the amount of geekgold tipped, and if the rules are correct. In case there is any problems, contact me before rolling the item. I will fix the issue and contact you back so you can roll the item.

I want to use a different bonus structure, can I?
The answer is maybe. The tool is vary powerful and customizable but some things it can't do. By default, anything dealing with other items can't be done easily, nor can anything that is not a mathematical change on the geekgold. It is possible though to add special rules to items, so contact me before listing the item so I can tell you if it is possible. In the case the tool can't do it and I can't add,you can't use.

I think there is something wrong on an item, what should I do?
If you suspect that something is wrong with any item on the lottery, please contact me by GeekMail explaining which behavior you saw that got you suspicious. If you won an item and the lister is logging but not contacting you, or has disappeared from BGG contact me as soon as possible. If the item should have arrived already but hasn't and the lister is not being cooperative or answering your inquires, also contact me so we can solve this in a timely manner.

Can I tip back people who tipped me?
Yes, you can use the GeekGold any user tipped you to tip on one of his items for lottery, but with discretion. You are not allowed to enter in collusion with an user to circle tip each other to get your chances very high. Doing so will remove both from the lotteries and take the geekgold incurred during it. Simple getting a tip and tipping back is not a problem. If you realize that there is an item one user has that you really want, and he really wants one of yours. Propose a trade (users are encouraged to add, before listing, items they want to lottery off on their Trade list), and if it goes through you reimburse the geekgold of every other participant.

Additional rules and guidelines
1. Don't update more than once a day;
2. Editing for the sake of trying to attract people is bad behavior. Doing it everyday (countdown to draw) is even worst. When an entry is updated I go check it to see if I have to change anything on the tool entry for it, and when there are half the items with updates, that can be a bit difficult;
3.Posting on the Game Forums or on the General Gaming forums and GeekMailing users about the offers your put on the lotteries is considered spam and should not be done. We have a very high profile subscription thread on the GeekBay forums, which should take care of adding visibility. Rare will be the user that wants to take part but doesn't know already about it.
4. You cannot reserve a spot on the geeklist by adding a TBA announced post while waiting to post latter, just to have an earlier place.

Special notes
Special Note #1: If you are giving an item, there is no guarantee for number of entrants. You must be prepared to give away your game even if you only receive a single geekgold entry. Do not enter a game unless you are prepared for that outcome!!

Special Note #2: If for any reason you are forced to withdraw a game you offered, you must refund all geekgold tipped to your entry.

Special Note #3: This is more a personal request, please try to avoid over complicated bonus schemes and shipping thresholds. Although I understand and find it funny when an user goes with 10 different levels of free shipping with some countries here and there, I have to update this info manually on the tool for it to show on the update, and that delays the subscription update (a simple listing takes 10 sec, a more complicated can take up to 2 minutes)

Hey Guys,

*** Before I tell you about this game, Go to this Forum, I am giving away 3 more copies of this game, go see how ***

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/718993/3-free-expansions-to-...

It is Louis XIV Expansion only, doesn't include the original game. (This item is New, open item and never play, this is expansion is from the Alea Treasure Chest.)

4 Favorite Action Tablets, 1 Favorite Figure
1 Rule Sheet

The expansion consists of one cardboard figure - the King's Favorite - and four cardboard tablets, one for all players. And then there is of course a small sheet of new rules.

In game setup each player gets a personal Favorite tablet, which has four spaces - one space for each phase of a playing round. Players also take one extra influence marker from the general supply and put it on any space of the Favorite tablet, or to their personal supply.

The favorite figure appears on the board every round opposite of the Sun King in the inner round of the tile table. As the King, the Favorite also rewards a special prize for those who put their influence markers on the tile where he is present at the moment. The King rewarding crown chips, the Favorite gives you extra influence markers. The player with the most markers on the tile where the Favorite is gets two markers from the general supply to be put to their personal supply or favorite tablet, all other players present on the tile gets one. The regular prizes for the tile are also granted according to the normal rules.

With a marker on a space on the Favorite tablet a player may trigger once a corresponding phase a special action. In supply phase players may discard as many influence cards as they wants and replace them with new ones. In Influence phase players may disregard the moving rules and move their just placed influence marker to any tile they want. In scoring phase the Intrigue card gets more power - players may put three markers from their own supply or two markers from the general supply to the tile on which they play their Intrigue card. And finally, in the mission phase the players may keep up to three mission tokens to the next round instead of the normal one.

When triggering the special action from the Favorite tablet the influence marker on the corresponding space is returned to the player's personal supply. Also, in the start of every round players may take as many of the influence markers on their tablets as they like to their personal supply, but this must be done before seeing the new hand of influence cards. Finally in the end of the game players may take one coat of arms for every two markers on their Favorite tablets, so two coats of arms may be gathered this way.

The Favorite expansion have in my opinion a good effect on the play. It helps you when having bad luck with your influence cards. It also gives you a good way to get some extra influence markers. The game gets tighter and in some way it feels more balanced. I think I have no reason to play without the Favorite in the future, and I'm expecting Louis XIV to get now more frequently plays in our gaming group.

I hope you find this review useful. Have fun with Louis XIV!

Up for grabs this month is a mint in shrink copy of Sumeria, which I picked up in a recent Tanga spend-a-thon. Also included is the Sumeria: 2-Player Expansion.

I will ship this anywhere in the world for free, given its relatively small size, so you international bidders should feel free to throw gold at this.

1 = 1 entry
10 bag = 15 entries

Ends sometime on the 27th November (when I awaken from my turkey-induced coma).

OK, I'm watching the Walking Dead marathon, and I'll be drawing after the mid-season finale finishes up at 2100 BGG time. Get those last minute bids in!

This auction is for a Cthulhu statue miniature. The base is a 1.5 inch (4 cm) square, and it's about 2 inches (5.5 cm) high.

These are used as domain markers in the Call of Cthulhu LCG, but are really nice sculpts, and are actually modeled after H.P. Lovecraft's description of the statuette in his short story Call of Cthulhu. These could be used for many purposes, not the least of which as an excellent first player marker in Arkham Horror.

As an added bonus, I will paint this up to your specifications, whichever way you want it. Below is a picture of one of my own that I've painted up.

Entries:
1 = 1 entry
5 = 6 entries
10 = 15 entries

Bonus:
400 = If this listing reaches 400 I will throw in a second figure.
800 = If this reaches 800 I will throw in a third one.
These bonus figures will also be painted to your specifications, they can receive different painting schemes should you desire so.

Shipping:
FREE worldwide!

Closes:
November 27th

EDIT: Added some bonus structures to make this a bit more appealing.

CLOSED FOR DRAWING

Drawing Update: Still waiting on the copycat tool to be updated to reflect the bonus rolls. Once it's updated I'll roll for the item asap.

____________________________________________________

The winner of this auction will receive 1 copy of the recently released Nightfall: Blood Country! It is currently in shrink, however I will be removing that to sign the copy for the winner before shipping.

Entries:
1 entry per with an additional entry per 5 (22 = 26 entries).

Update:
yohanleafheart wrote:
that bonus structure is quite common and it will be there before the drawing date

So: Add a comment on this entry with a single roll of a d20 (rolls directly on this entry are fine too) by midnight on Nov. 29th EST. At that time I will make a roll and double the entries of each person matching my roll! Those who add their rolls after mine will not be doubled.

Update: Everyone who rolled a 1d20 = (7) = 7 will have their entries doubled (looks like only fastlane and nightglider1 match up). I'll be contacting Sol shortly to make sure it gets added to the tool.

Method:
I will be using Random.org the Copycat Awesome Tool to select the winner.

Shipping:
Free, worldwide.

Deadlines:
The d20 rolls are due by Nov. 29th at midnight EST.
Entry deadline is 7 PM EST on Nov. 30th. I will draw between then and midnight.

Up for grabs is a single deck of the game Horrific. It is the deck second from the right in the picture (the lady with the bone necklace and skull on a stick.) The box is in okay shape with some wear. I believe it is complete and unplayed though opened.

Note that 2 decks are needed to play the game, I only have the one.

Board games rule my life, and my wife's. That is a good thing, believe it or not ;)

NOT FOR THE GAME ITSELF

Up for offer is the Gollum figure that was included in the April 2005 Spielbox magazine. It is actually still in shrink with the magazine, although the magazine is in German (I think, cuz I haven't broken the shrink). I will post a picture of what I actually have when I get home from work tonight.

This auction will run until Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at which time Sol's mighty tool will select a winner.

Shipping is free anywhere in the world.

Stay tuned for the results...

This is for one Ullar Flag Bearer, new in the box. There is some shelf wear, but otherwise looks to be in fantastic condition.

Because whoever gets this will probably be very thankful, I will draw the winner on Thanksgiving (November 24) sometime that night.

Winner to pay $5.00 for shipping (US) or $10 (worldwide).

Bonus:
500 triggers free US shipping and $5.00 worldwide. Reached!

1000 triggers free shipping worldwide.

1500 I will also include an unknown mystery HeroScape item. It will be something cool, not something like a single Marro Warrior clipped off the base.
