As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you, now remain in my love. You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last. -- Jesus Christ
This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty but as always: add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad™ and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our king: Belial I.

.35 GW outlet...complete and in great shape...just used a permenant marker on burrs on the corners/edges....gonna play it before deciding if its ebay fodder....I am not a big Rio Grande fanboy...well except for Dominion...oh and Carcassonne...and Thurn and Taxis ....so other than that not a fan at all
Deseret $2.00. I'd seen a kid carrying this around the store a day before and I kinda followed him around seeing if he would let go, but he was hugging the game too tightly. So I just said, OK kid, you win. Enjoy your game. A day later the game was on the shelf again. I guess Mom wouldn't shell out two bucks for a game. I found an incomplete one of these before, just about a year ago, which is not surprising as the game was produced in Julian, only a few miles away.
eBay lot $4.25. Missing all dice and a scientist card. The dice are OOP, but a 10 buck order of green translucent die is a reasonably close substitute, even if not authentic purple pip + green background.
The missing card is the robot scientist. I'd appreciate a nice quality scan. Please PM me.
2nd edition 7.99$ at VV. Complete, though it was a mess. Admittedly, I thoroughly enjoyed organizing all the pieces into individual player boxes and ditching the styrofoam. It's been a while since I've played this game, but I'm thrilled to have it in my collection.
We had a LAN/board game event over the weekend. I basically supplied all of the board games. It was a great time for all. On the last day one of the attendees mentioned he had a game in storage I could have if I wanted. I asked what it was and he said Dark Tower. I immediately advised him to list it on here or eBay given its worth. I even went so far as to show him several eBay listings and the price history on BGG. However he said he just didn't feel like messing with it and it was all mine if I wanted it. So I now have a near complete copy of Dark Tower. Total cost $0. I'm missing the original box and some other non-essential parts (6 pegs, board connectors and two buildings). The tower seems to work though I haven't done more than turn it on. The electronics look fantastic though so I'm hopeful.
