Just added a new Secret Santa Poll . Head over to [geekurl=http://boardgamegeek.com/article/7924278#7924278]Week 2 Secret Santa Poll[/geekurl] to see how everyone is faring thus far in this year's event. And of course, add your votes!

ALRIGHT! It is time once again for the annual Secret Santa List, this time the 2011 Edition. For those of you who are new to the list:

I run this list as a central location to let your Secret Santa know when your (hopefully much appreciated) gift has arrived.

Use this list to record what your Secret Santa sent you and remember to include any comments such as thanks that you want to give your Secret Santa. When you post on this list, you may want to make a note on your profile with a link to your entry so your Secret Santa can easily locate your confirmation of delivery and your reaction. That way your Secret Santa can look to see if you received your gift and you can post any comments you may have about the gift here and you can reply without the identity of your Secret Santa ever having to be released!

Please only make an entry when you actually receive the present! This assists those of us who read the list regularly as recipients are adding their gifts in a chronological order. No placeholder entries, please.

In years past this list has been heavily monitored as the gifting season approaches and I am sure the same will hold true this year.

Last year there were 1,437 unique entries spread over 58 pages. I'm curious to see how huge it grows this year. As a tip - if you go looking through the previous years' lists, please be mindful of which year you are actually posting your gift to. There have been multiple occasions of people posting a gift from the current year on the previous year's list. That would likely diminish the chances of your Secret Santa getting around to seeing it...

I find it very handy to put a link on your profile page so your Secret Santa knows where you have posted the feedback so s/he doesn't have to sort through 2000 entries to find yours quickly.

To see all previous years' editions of this list and to give the new Secret Santa participants an idea of how this works, look at these links:

"2010 List"

"2009 List"

"2008 List"

"2007 List"

"2006 List"

does a superb job using the data from this list to create his great statistical look at the hottest gifts of the season. This year's version of his list is located at:

Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2011

Last year: Most Popular Secret Santa Games of 2010

Want some for your stocking? Simon also runs a Secret Santa Sweepstakes which is located at:

This year: 2011 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

Last year: 2010 Secret Santa Sweepstakes

IMPORTANT - When you get your gift(s), take the time to "Add Item" to this GeekList rather than place a comment at the bottom of the list. This helps the statisticians out there.

A good example of how to make an entry containing multiple gifts is located at: this entry.

Making an actual entry will also make it easier for your Secret Santa to locate your Item.

If you would like to taunt your "target" while maintaining your secret identity, you can do so using the Santa logon. Just log yourself off and close any BGG windows (if you don't you take the chance of being discovered if the new username doesn't take) and log on using this info:

Username: santa
Password: password

I hope you have a terrific holiday season and enjoy the list!

Wow, what a very generous Santa I have for my first year! I was surprised and happy to see a such a large box arrive on Thursday from Coolstuffinc.com. Knowing that I didn't order anything lately I knew it was from Secret Santa. I was getting ready for work but I had just enough time to rip open the box and find not one, not two, but THREE amazing games.

I received Stonghold:

Summoner Wars Master Set:

and Kingdom Builder:

Thank you very much Santa!!

I got my package today just in time for Christmas! My Santa sent me a great package with a game I've wanted for a long time, Battlestar Galactica! Underneath I was happy to find the terrific Pegasus Expansion as well. I'll definitely be playing this very soon!

But that wasn't all. Santa also through in a copy of The Resistance which looks like a lot of fun. Santa also thought of my little girl and included a copy of RattleSnake! We've already played a few times this afternoon. She LOVES it! She has already figured out that she can make a bracelet out of the magnetic pieces.

Thank you Santa!

Well I've had another great experience with Secret Santa this year, both in the giving and receiving.

I got the chance to exchange a number of messages with my Secret Santa who turned out to be a Secret Santarina from Malaysia. And we may even get the chance to meet up and have a game in the future when she comes to Australia for an internship in the near future.

Thank-you so much Secret Santarina for Dominion: Hinterlands (which snuck in on the last day of mail deliveries before Christmas). I'm sure it's going to go wonderfully with all those other cards. I'm sure it'll get to the table in the very near future.

Merry Christmas one and all!!!!

Well, my SS package arrived on the 13th. But this time I was in the hospital, so when I returned as it was already after Christmas, I didn't hesitate to tear through the nice wrap to find Mansions of Madness.
Thanks so much, Santa! This was an awesome gift, and I hope to play this game soon. whistle

My Secret Santa has been in regular contact with me - I was told a few weeks ago that there was one item that was causing some difficulty so the rest might be a little late, to which I replied that it was no worry, as I am a very patient fellow!

I got another GM on Thursday, telling me a package was on it's way and that there was one item intended to be included that was not, because it was holding things up and that Santa would make it up to me later.

Well... The package arrived today and I must say while I appreciate the concern about a 'missing' item, it is certainly no worry as the box was very generously apportioned with a total of 4 different items!

The first two I found were:

Last Night on Earth: Hero Pack 1

and

Last Night on Earth: Survival of the Fittest

Very nice, I think! Last Night on Earth is one of my favorites. I had not played it in a while, but got it down again a few weeks ago and these are wonderful additions to my Zombie horde of horror!

A bit farther down was:

Summoner Wars: Goodwin's Blade Reinforcement Pack

This is the add-on pack for the Fallen Kingdom and Vanguard, allowing those forces to be customized. Another nice addition to the collection!

This by itself would have been just fine so I was surprised to see not just another item in the box, but a sizable one in Senji!

I have actually never played this, but I've always had a soft spot for Samurai and battle games with a diplomatic element (I also love Diplomacy and have my eye on the Game of Thrones 2nd Edition) so this seemed like a natural and I am very happy to be able to add it to my collection!

Merry Christmas and many thanks to my Secret Santa, who was very generous and I'd like to say you certainly have no worries about needing to make anything up to me!

EDIT: Added pics.

Just opened the box and yeah. A few acres of snow was just what I needed cause it´s only raining here in Finland.
But it seems that I was a good boy, because santa also sent me some handpicked chocolates, Lifeboat expansion 2: liquid courage and a nice little game called Spot it.
And that´s not all, I also got geek gold enough to get an avatar!
Where do they make these santas?
Best santa ever!

Thank you!

Santa you are AMAZING!!!

Went to the mailbox, found a package had been delivered - shipped express to me in Hawaii, at great expense (I guess reindeer don't like the tropics so much). Picked it up, checked the size and weight and could not figure out what on my list would match. Opened the box to find packing peanuts and another box, which may or may not have posted from Japan to Santa. Inside that box was a priority envelope, and my curiosity was up to near unmanageable levels, and then I pulled forth MERCHANT OF VENUS! I've been looking at trying to get this one for a long time, so I'm super stoked - and it's in great condition - not even punched yet!

Thank you so much, Santa! This is one awesome gift!

My secret santa was AWESOME this year!!!

Of course I tore into the packages as soon as I got home from a family Disney trip...

I found a handwritten card with an awesome sentiment. Then, I saw the only ascension promo I lacked... Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer – Control Room Promo ...SWEET!!

Along with that were two packages. I busted into the first one...A Few Acres of Snow! My most wanted game on my list! How'd ya know santa?

Then, I tore into the second gift to find Elder Sign! A game I've been REALLY wanting.

Naturally, I tossed the wrapping paper in the trash, and then took it out to our outdoor trashcan for pickup.......well..about 30 minutes ago my santa geekmails me to make sure I look at the inside of the wrapping paper...there was a gift certificate!!! OH NO...So, I frantically dig through piles of trash to finally discover a $5 gift cert for coolstuff! Totally worth it.

Thanks Santa!!!!! And a very Merry Christmas to you!

I received my package a few days ago, but thought it would be in good spirit to keep it until I celebrated Christmas. My wife and I celebrated today, the 24th, due to traveling and plans for actual Christmas day. Well, it took EVERY ounce of self-control to stop from opening it when I first got it but I was glad I did.

I received three games. Firstly, and the one I am most excited about, was Elder Sign! I really enjoy games I can play solo as well as with my wife and friends. Deeper in the box was this.

I really like Dixit as an alternative to other party games that are quite stale. I'm glad to be able to play this with 12 players as my wife's family numbers at nine.

Finally, this was in the box as well.

I think Mission: Fun and Games threw this in as their own gift. I'll give it a try and see how it goes!

Thanks Secret Santa! For my first year in this thing, it turned out awesome!

It took everything in me to wait until Christmas Eve to open the package sent from my Secret Santa. It actually arrived very early this year and that made the wait even more horrendous!

Upon opening the package, I was very surprised to find not one, not two, but THREE wrapped gifts and a holiday card!!!

I almost fell out of my chair after unwrapping each box... my Secret Santa went above and beyond! I could not have received better gifts - two expansions for games I own and love along with the new Puppet Wars base set!

My Secret Santa truly spoiled me royally this year! I am very much looking forward to playing these new games! I could not be happier!

My Secret Santa got me:

Dear Secret Santa,

I want to sincerely and wholeheartedly thank you for such a wonderful and memorable Boardgame Geek Secret Santa experience. You went above and beyond out of the goodness of your heart and it must be said that all is very much appreciated. I am honored to have been your target this 2011 season. Thank you again for your level of extreme kindness and making this holiday season truly magical.

May you have a very Merry Christmas!

Look what I recieved.
It arraived some days before Christmas, and agan I felt like a little boy when I collected it at the post office. I opppened the box with closed eyes wiyh my wife in front of me and she assured that it was wraped.
A big, heavy unknown game. Wrapped in gold-red striped paper with a red band and a handwritten note with whishes for a merry christmas.
On Christmas eve we opened our gift I found this game smiling out of the paper.

This game has been on my radar sice I discovered Twilligt Struggle. And hwas one of my whish-1 items.

Happiness is a Secret Santa gift.

So this is my first year participating in the secret santa exchange and I was torn between anxiously hoping my target liked the gift I sent and anxiously eying the three (3!) packages I received. Well I still don't know if my target liked my gift but I am totally blown away by the generosity of my secret santa! (Each time I opened a gift my wife had to scrape my jaw off the floor). To honor my secret santa, next year I will be just as generous to my target.

Without further ado:

Galaxy Trucker

First, I opened Galaxy Trucker. I played this at a convention last year and had a blast. It started as a pickup game but I almost missed the game I'd signed up for because I'd lost track of time. Love it.

PitchCar Special Long Straights

Then I opened the Special Long Straights for Pitchcar. I knew what this one was right away, of course, because of the unique shape of the package. I organize a monthly board game lunch at work, and Pitchcar is a perennial favorite because it is fast, competitive and fun. Now it will be even faster with the long straights. I'm not even going to bring a second choice game to the January lunch.

Kingsburg

Finally I opened Kingsburg. Another one I played at a convention this year. I loved it and it made it to my wishlist right away. When I finally decided I wanted to buy it I couldn't find it at any of my FLGS and they told me it was out of print. I was quite sad, but no more!

Thank you so much secret santa! I felt a little guilty opening my wonderful presents with my family, but then I remembered that as The Game Guy (TM) in the family, my library is available to everyone.

This years Secret Santa was a blast.
I taunted my target and picked some items of his list and got the elves to do the rest. The items arrived and hes a happy bunny.

My Santa taunted me quite late, in fact he said he could`nt be bothered and left the process to Binky and Bongo??

Binky sent on package (the larger of the two) and Bongo the other.

A race was set and a wager was placed between the elves. The loser having to run naked around the workshop at the North-Pole.
With 2 foot legs and 3 foot of snow it makes me shiver just contemplating it.

Any way 2 packages duly arrived, the larger on the Friday and the smaller on the Monday. So sadly Bongo lost the wager.

I waited as all good boys and girls should until today (25th) to open them.
Big package; Sun of York. I have waited so long for this, thank you Santa very much appreciated.

But what was the small package? it did`nt fit with any of the other items on my wish list. It was a card game of sorts, the size gave that away!

Gloom Unfortunate Expeditions. My Secret Santa had obviously had a look at my wish list and seen that I am a bit of a completist and got me an expansion I don`t have.

Thanks again, nice touch.

Thank you Santa and thank you BGG. Roll on Christmas 2012

Holy freaking cow! My Secret Santa this year went above, beyond and THROUGH any and all hopes and expectations.

First of all, he (or she, it could have been a she!) was a talkative fellow. And that was cool. He did his research, saw that I liked gaming with my son, and included him in on the holiday festivities (which my son loved). When the packages started to arrive though...and yes, I do mean packages!

Here's the haul from this morning:

Let's see, we've got...
A Few Acres of Snow
Combat Commander: Pacific
Claustrophobia: De Profundis
HeroClix (around 50 misc pieces)
Two Neil Gaiman graphic novels
One Clive Barker book "Abarat"
Defenders of the Realm: The Errant Paladin
Defenders of the Realm: Global Effects Cards
Power Grid: The New Power Plant Cards

So, Santa, I know that you're watching and reading this. From Robert and myself, a hearty thank you. The generosity of the Geek community knows no bounds. You have made these two geeks very, very, VERY happy this holiday season.

Here's this year's story:

My Secret Santa (SS) contacted me via geekmail a couple of weeks before Christmas telling me that something good will be on its way very soon. This gave me a good feeling for the whole December as I knew that my SS actually exists. But still, I never expected to get anything and I only participated for the will to give. Should I receive a game, that's just a bonus.

I also had already ordered a game for my target. This year I was on a slightly tight budget, so I was able to afford one game only. But at least it was a big one =)

On December 19th I got a notice from the post office that a packet from Czech Republic had arrived. Anxiety began to accumulate. However, I only got to pick up the packet on December 23rd on my way to my parents home. I was surprised by the sheer size of the packet and it led us into a small trouble with arranging all the luggage and presents of the 4 people we had in our small car. Ultimately I had to travel 4 hours holding my bag on my lap... However, I did it with a smile on my face and nothing was able to wipe it away.

At home I opened the packet. It contained a beautifully handwritten letter and two neat packets. TWO! That's 200% more I ever expected and 100% more I had sent to my this year's target. However, the absolutely best part was the letter which I celebrated to most. Someone had really made an effort to make a complete stranger happy.

So I did what the letter said and opened the presents today. It seems that this year I've been a really good boy. I got the top item from my wishlist, C&C Napoleonics. I'm a huge fan of the Commands and Colors series and Napoleonics is the very game I've been longing to play and own. I'm sure this will see a lot of table time.

But this was not all. My Super Secret Santa (SSS) sent me also an another game, Dungeon Petz. To tell the truth, I almost added Dungeon Petz into my wishlist but for some reason never did so. Maybe it was because I already had Dungeon Lords there...

Anyways, Thank you my SSS of 2011. You've made this boy happy. I especially appreciated the letter.
