This is the traditional weekly thrift and bargain finds list.
These lists may start empty, but as always, add your items.
Put in what you consider a bargain, tell us how much you paid and the place you got it from. Bargains can be thrift store finds or any second-hand purchases or discounted boardgames bought new. Don't forget to add your encounters with the Thrift Store Irritant Squad and any other embellishments in order to make it even more interesting.
Our GeekGuild: Welcome to The Ancient and Loyal Order of Thrifters. Enter the halls of thriftdom at your own risk. Please do mind the stacks of prized games, do not mention the musty smell and try not to sneeze. Make sure to bow before our King Belial I, and pay your due respects to previous Kings Great_Mazinga, minionhunter, Krazygit, EvilTimmy and Blackwind.
The Order's Anthem: Sing along with our good old thrifty theme song...
$4.99 @ GW. Yeah...so it got worse. Let me be the first to say...this is not a game. I don't care what the box says. This is a toy. I am going to be returning my first ever thrift back to the store...or re-donating it...whatever you wanna call it. Bought it over lunch break. This won't make it home.
Nice copy with the chits/dice bagged. Unfortunately I stumbled across what appears to be a fossilized booger...yes my friends...petrified, congealed, green (now icky brown)nose apples smeared into a disgusting paste on the instructions. Should I go on? I'm sure this is a fairly common occurrence for you vets. Any ideas on how to safely remove and sterilize the theater?
Smile Hulkster. You're MINE. Love finding this stuff, and these minis truly rock. Set was almost complete. Missing two wound markers and one single piece of terrain. Three Grok Riders were tossed in as a bonus as well as some very small black plastic guns/rifles/grenade launchers. Someone was doing some serious "weaponing up."
Grabbed this piece of Ebait from Goodwill yesterday for 99 cents. Complete and in good condition. The original fake-Play-Doh is even in pretty good condition, I think I'll be able to leave that in there.
Must be a Ravensburger day for me! This looked nice, but i'm not sure what it is missing. No rules a handfull of different colored/numbere of pawns, no rules. I flipped the box over to see if there was a parts list on the back but it seems to be the back of the aMAZEing Laberynth box instead....
$1.50 at DI
I figure I'll run across another parts box someday
