The return of Mediterranean Trade. The start of the new Italian City States.

The Renaisance-
Return of High Culture. City state battle for pestige and wealth based on trade and culture.

Age of Colonization-
The New World offers new lands and new products for cash crops. (I thank them for coffee).

Reformation-
Europe Explodes in 96 theses.

|
|
|
Age of Reason-
The coming of nationalism and "what makes Louis XVI better than me?"

|
Industrial Capitalism-
black smoke revolution and syphoning govenrment contracts (on a huge scale.)

And after Age of Steam, you might insert Heart of Africa, or if you have a lot of time, War! Age of Imperialism or even Colonial Diplomacy.
Beside that, very nice idea.
