Left behind a Heroscape Swarm of the Marro set priced at $6.99 - it had all of its tiles, and more than the requisite number of figures, but it was missing about half of the army stat cards, at least one figure was broken, and the instruction booklet was missing. I tried to talk a manager downm in price, but she wouldn't budge, as the color of the sticker indicated it had just been priced yesterday.
I do have an incomplete Valkyrie master set, so by every rights I *should* have picked this up. But $7 seemed too steep for me.
So, I moved on, and found this:
Trivial Pursuit, Silver Screen edition - why take it? In Shrink, of course. Only reason to ever pick this up
I was planning to stop at the thrifts for one last time this year, but someone called in sick so I stayed later than expected. Oh well, I didn't have time yesterday to post my finds so I can post them today.
I gave the boyfriend the in shrink thrifted Pandemic I found about a month ago. Now he wants the expansion! He wants to buy it at the FLGS at their annual Boxing Day sale. I said you know that has been thrifted. He said but do you want to wait that long? How long do you think it's going to take to find it? And so on and so forth. So I hit the thrifts really really hoping to find Pandemic: On the Brink . At the SA there wasn't much on the game shelves, but there was a SET for $1.99.
Across the street at the VV the shelves had more on them but there wasn't much quality. I kept looking over the shelves because I haven't been here for several days and there must be something good here, I can feel it! Where is my Pandemic: On the Brink? Oh look here's an older Scrabble for $1.99. Open it up to find there are no tiles. Bummer. What's that hiding under that beat up oversized box? It's a Risk: Balance of Power for $3.99. It's not what I was looking for but I'll take that! I took a look thru the hanging baggies and while I didn't find anything game related I did find a Puss in Boots toy from McDonald's that I missed while they were on sale this year so I was happy with that too.
This was sitting next to a Star Wars one which I was going to pick up for the R2D6. Nature was calling so I had to risk putting it back on the shelf. Unfortunately when I returned I grabbed the wrong one! And no I didn't notice until I went looking for it to get out R2! Goodwill for $2.
