Scorecard for the Week/Month/Year as of 22Aug2015:

7/34/458 plays of 6/24/189 total games, with 0/1/24 expansions employed.
Plays with 9/16/102 distinct opponents.

3/4/38 games acquired (plus 0/0/9 expansions.) - given One Zero One and Flip City, and traded for Alchemists.
1/2/6 games sold/traded (plus 0/0/0 expansions.) - traded away Winner's Circle.
1/1/14 games ordered (plus 1/1/4 expansions.) - Churchill (I blame Tom!) and Machi Koro: Millionaire's Row (and son #2.)
Orders for 4 games and 1 expansions still outstanding.

With son #2:
2x _7_ Flip City New! - This is a weird little thing. A deck-builder with no hand to manage: one simply plays cards off the deck, and stops when one wants (or, more precisely, when one wants subject to the card constraints: some cards must be played when they're on top of your deck.) I tried it once solo (a loss!) and once against son #2: he liked it a lot - and I think much of that was for the novelty; it's not much like anything else we have in the house.
1x _6⅔_ One Zero One New! - I admit my enthusiasm is mutated somewhat by the enthusiasm of my youngest; but he thought this was cool and fun. So I guess we like it better than SJ and Sean. It's definitely fluffy and pretty random; so a filler at best. But there is opportunity for a bit of creativity and cleverness here, so it's not terrible.

With a couple of the Wednesday Night gang:
1x _7⅔_ Europe Engulfed - This has three player rules (surprise!) so we gave it a shot. We divided up simply: Paul (a german speaker) played the Axis; I went with the Soviets (either since the pieces are red, or my grandparents were born in the Crimea, I'm not certain); Scott took the western Allies. We managed four whole gameturns in five hours of play (including a nontrivial amount of rules explanation, to be fair.)
The Axis had a lot of trouble getting in to the USSR in this game: they tried a lovely flanking manoeuvre without success; and the peasant levy callup managed to reinforce the front enough to give the panzer army some grief. We all learned Things that One Should Not Do.
North Africa wasn't much better; a couple attempts on Tobruk were repulsed with significant losses. And a British fleet buildup in the Atlantic meant that additional troops could be shipped to Egypt (admittedly around the Cape - to avoid the potentially intercepting Italian navy.) It was looking pretty dire for Panzer Armee Afrika.
I think this is worth more play; though we might have a few more call-it-early games as we explore profoundly ineffective strategies!

With friends:
1x _7⅓_ Hinkel & Stein - With son #2, son #1 and one of son #1's frat buddies. We enjoyed the asymmetry and silliness. And the guys let me win (mostly because they got in one another's way more than they did with me.)
1x _7⅔_ 鋼鉄と火薬 (kōtetsu to kayaku 'Guns & Steel') - With friend Dave; it was our second play in a couple days. This was much closer than the first play; and very engaging. I think I like this distinctly better with 2 players than more.

With cool GCL folk online:
1x _7⅓_ Reef Encounter (112 months dusty) - I began this with Absolutely No Clue of how to play - and ended only with the beginnings of an idea. It was delightful - and probably something I should attempt to play live, too.

Owned-and-unplayed: 1 (+2/-2) - One Zero One and Flip City arrived and were played.

Outlook for the week: The Wednesday Gang are at Paul's this week; looking forward to that (I'll push for Triumph and Tragedy - even over Churchill - if we're three; I've got the rules in my head, and don't want to lose the opportunity. If we're four, I might go for Yunnan or Alchemists. Though, frankly, I think that latter one is more daughter #1's speed than the Wednesday Group.) Looking forward to rejoining the Monday Lunch gang after a few weeks away, too. And I'll hope to play a few things with my younger children. (Son #1 is back in New York.)

Condition - Excellent condition. Full disclosure for the real picky pants out there, you know who you are!
The board has been written on with permanent marker since there were corrections to be done on it based on the designers input. I chose to write on it instead of using paste ups. It's really quite minor though and you may not even notice it.

Scorecard for the Week/Month/Year as of 15Aug2015:

9/27/451 plays of 8/20/185 total games, with 1/1/24 expansions employed.
Plays with 4/10/98 distinct opponents.

0/1/35 games acquired (plus 0/0/9 expansions.) - Yunnan last week!
0/1/5 games sold/traded (plus 0/0/0 expansions.)
0/0/13 games ordered (plus 0/0/3 expansions.)
Orders for 3 games and 0 expansions still outstanding.

Last week, with Michael:
1x _7⅓_ Yunnan - I'd not at all be surprised if my rating of this increases with a subsequent play. The game we played was both fascinating and also quite unstable: the rich (P) got richer, and the poor (Michael & I) poorer. But - fortunately! - we'd got the turn order rules wrong; so the "real" game will likely work better.
2x _8_ 開拓王 (Kaitaku-ō 'King of Frontier') (with もっと建物を! (motto tatemono o! 'More Buildings!')) - (One each with P & S.) In my observation, the game tends to lean in favour of one of the players; and these were no exception. The trick is to be that player, I guess; but it's over soon regardless. Michael did well in our first game, filling his board and doing well with buildings. And I caught the wave in the second game: everything I tried worked. I think S might have been more amused had she'd been in my position!

With friend Dave:
1x _7⅔_ 鋼鉄と火薬 (kōtetsu to kayaku 'Guns & Steel') - Cool: it works well with 2. Strangely, I'd not attempted that before! But I think I'm a fan; the 2p game doesn't have that fall-away loser aesthetic that's been a part of many of our 3 & 4p games.
2x _8_ 開拓王 (Kaitaku-ō 'King of Frontier') (with もっと建物を! (motto tatemono o! 'More Buildings!')) - Like last week's games, these two also leapt strongly toward one of the players. It's not too bad with 2, either, as it turns out (though that wasn't news.)
1x _7_ Neuroshima Hex! - We added son #2 for this one - since he's a fan (he owns the copy in our house, in fact.) Son #2 was ahead throughout the game - but ended up annihilated in the Final Battle. And our esteemed host (who had been trailing throughout) came through for the victory. It was funny.
1x _7⅓_ Dutch Blitz - Son #2 and I were quite a bit faster than Dave when playing normally; so we tried playing with our off hands. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, we were initially amazingly slow when trying to play with our non-dominant hands. (Though we did speed up somewhat with practice.) It was still entertaining.
1x _7⅔_ Red7 - Gamer fluxx? Perhaps. But there's more of that (quite lovely) logic-problem-solving feel, and less of the abject chaos for which I only have limited tolerance. I think one can easily delude oneself that success here is the result of competence and skill - regardless of the truth - it's likely one my Dad would have liked.

With family:
1x _7⅔_ Europe Engulfed New! - Ok; only a partial play. I'd set the game up in the living room of my wife's parents. And they tolerated (quite graciously, in truth) the insanity of the huge game for several days. Son #1 was my opponent here. And while we played for ~4h, we only managed three turns (out of 24-ish turns in the '41 scenario.) The first turn saw a buildup of troops along the eastern front (and a bit of North African movement); the second a dramatic push of German armor to take Moscow followed by a Russian counter-offensive that cut the armor off from its supply. The third turn saw the armor regain supply, but at significant cost (since it was fighting at half-strength) and the beginnings of the Italian-British fighting in North Africa.
It was completely cool - and much easier in rules than I'd expected. The calculation of supply took much more (subjective and objective) work than would have been the case had we been more practiced: much of the effort was simply understanding the requirements carefully. The other factor (resulting in many referrals to the rules) was the consideration of the political rules: the special cases for each each of the nationalities. I think that's one that would also improve dramatically with practice.
In the end, I think my rating can only go up. And Paul and I need to give it a shot some Wednesday when we're the only two available.
1x _6⅔_ Backgammon - Son #2 and I were hanging out in a hipster coffee establishment, and they had a pile of games. Ok; mostly things that could have been found more than a hundred years ago; but still. So he wanted to play. He's still learning: so makes some plays that I wouldn't consider - and I take too many risks to be any good.
1x _7⅔_ Crokinole (48 months dusty) - With my mother-in-law! We're pretty well matched (both with years of exposure, though - as you can see from my dustiness note - also both without much recent practice.)

Owned-and-unplayed: 1 (+0/-1) - Europe Engulfed was played (at least a bit.)

Outlook for the week: More plays with family. And the Wednesday night gang, too: I think I might try to get Yunnan to the table again; I'd love to see how it played with 4 or 5. And I need to learn Triumph and Tragedy, too.

Moderate shelf wear, components in great condition. First edition. Blocks are all stickered and in plastic divided boxes. Some of the counters were clipped when I purchased this so I clipped the rest. It was my first clipping job so it may not be up to everyone's standards. A few extra blocks as well as some of the counters/labels included.

It's a really fun game that can be played in a single day and covers the whole European theater. The one big problem, to my mind, is that there are no stacking limits! So you end up with a single huge blob of red blocks destroying everything on the board.

Game ownership: I own it

Availability: Mostly Saturdays and Sundays after about two.

Location: My apartment is too small to set up this (or just about any other) game.

Experience level: None. Absolutely none. It's a big, long game that I don't quite understand but would love to try sometime.

GMT, 2003. First Edition. English.

There is some very minor dishing to the box top. Otherwise the game is in excellent condition. Blocks are all stickered and ready to go.

Includes a nicely bound second printed copy of the rules so both players can have a copy.

From a non-smoking, no pet home.

$40 for sale or trade.
