The Evil Geniuses for a Better Tomorrow was founded by a group of gamers attending Kent State University in 1998. It continues to this day. Meetings are held in the Gardener Student Center on the 3rd floor every Monday of the semester (no meetings during summer or winter break).
There is a larger event sponsored by the Evil Geniuses that runs the first Saturday of each month (including the summer). This all day "mini-con" allows players to bring out the big games and is usually held in a larger room or multiple rooms.
Under normal conditions meetings are on the 3rd floor of the Kent State University Student Center. Saturday meetings are either 2 rooms on the 3rd floor or the commuter lounge on the second floor.
The core rules of the club are simple.
1. Talk about game club! The goal is to get more members, not create a little private club for us. We've pulled 35 people on Saturday meetings because of this, with graduates and Freshmen, even locals who've heard about the club showing up.
2. No fees. We sometimes organize to go to movies, cons, or to order pizza. But the club itself has no fees.
3. Role playing games are off limits at club meetings. Trust me, I love RPGs, but the club is not the right place, it's too loud for good role playing. FINDING other players for RPGs elsewhere, totally cool. Actually the basement in the student center usually has some nice couches for Role playing.
4. Come willing to talk to others and either teach, learn or play games.
