Well, here we go again. A map mod for Crusader Rex, influenced by the lovely map for Mark Herman's Peloponnesian War. (Does anyone know who created it? The rulebook credits don't say. I'll give an extra GeekGold to anyone who uploads a good pic of this gorgeous map: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/1678)
Obviously this is an antiqued version, with a satellite photo blended in to achieve some topography. The orientation shift is quite intentional, as the eastern-facing perspective is the traditional Holy Land mindset. The seal with the title is that of the Knights Templar.
Also drew inspiration from Matt Harvey's wonderful Hammer of the Scots map mod:

The primary font face is Humanistika:

I really wanted to find a way to fit this wonderful piece of art by Lubov Tabit into the design, but found it too crowded to do so - but it's worth a mention:

Allright, well I'm done with that one. What's next? In search of those rare great games with ugly and/or dysfunctional maps...
Hope you enjoy!
