Sept 1942 - The Whole Game Set up on the Wall. This is just the base game with no added units (and yet the wall is quite crowded enough).

This is great!
Did you use magnets and a steel wall to put the game out of the way? This is a solutions for losing 2 tables for like a decade, when playing this one!
Where did you get the 2000 needed magnets (and who was in charge of placing all the counters in them )

Matthijs,

I just saw your question today. I bought some galvanized sheet metal and nailed them to sheet of plywood. All of the magnets are "counter magnets". They used to sell them quite ofton and I was fortuneate enought to pick up several of them on e-bay.

They stack about 6 high and perfectly hold the units. Everyone puts their units in themselves, but you have to be careful to get the polarity correct.

I have 2 small kids, so it works great to keep the game from being destroyed while they are in the room and takes up no space.

Corey

Yeah this works wonderfully, we have done it is well.

Took a great deal of hours getting all the magnet parts in the right shape, with the polarity right and so. But the job was worth it.

Our commonwealth player can't seem to figure out polarity, so I am constantly fixing his units, but it seems that 1/2 of them are always upside down : (

Hey it's not my fault, but the game is just too big for a single sheet of plywood. We put the america map on a table next to the wall. If you look closely to the picture you can kind of make out the reflextion of the America map and production spiral.

Your wall-mounted map is a masterpiece!

I wish I could get my hands on more of those counter magnets. I have only about 60; they're so darn rare now. If anyone discovers a new manufacturer, please email me. Cheers!

Oh man that is great! I always wanted to do this and wished I was able to get more of those counter magnets back when they were still sold.

They manufactured a bunch of the 1/2" counter magnets.

I've seen them on a few online stores.
