Here's the castle with a bit more chrome. I've painted the outside walls with a beigish color, mixed with sand for some texture. Then washed the edges and windows with black to give it that weathered look. Finally, I painted the tower roofs brown. Not sure if I'm going to ad more details as I want to keep the castle generic and let the troops in the castle add the color

Well its surely something worth exploring, but then the castle would take up a good amount of space on the board (especially non-Epic scenarios) and so the issue of the "left/center/right flank card mechanics" and "black flags/retreats" becomes more impportant. Once my home rules concerning the castle are fully developped, maybe I'll be up to the task of building a bigger castle.

Gotta finish painting my initial set of miniatures first
