Which probably comes via some Ghibli works being strongly influenced by and sometimes incorporating INÔE Naohisa's Iblard paintings, which is what such an art nouveau garden city reminds me most of, ever since I had a long rummage through his Web site (quite some years ago now and before I had got to see Whisper of the Heart and before Hoshi o Katta Hi, so I think of it being Inôe rather than Ghibli).
