I hate having to buy the 4th edition over again, but if FFG is doing it I know it'll be worth it. Minis instead of cardboard won't be too bad, either.

I understand that FFG will release a bag of minis and cards so that people who bought the last edition from Greed Workshop can upgrade to the FFG edition without rebuying the board and box and such. This will convert your black box to the FFG components to make it compatible with future expansions. If this is true, I consider it a classy move.

(Crosses fingers)

Wow... I also do not want to pay for this again... When will we know if they will give out the minis and cards for free?

Why would they give out the mini's and cards for free? It's not like you bought the game from their company.

I can't wait until October... Here is some (ok very little) info on the upgrade pack. I am sure others will have it for sale as well.

Shouldn't this technically be added as a new game, as there are differeances from the Black Library Edition?

I'll admit, I am now very glad I did not pick up the 4th edition, with this 4.5 edition now official.

From the FF press release:

"Those who already purchased the Black Industries’ version of Talisman can purchase all of the new components – the plastic figures, updated Adventure cards, redesigned Fate tokens, and so forth – separately in the Talisman Revised 4th Edition: Upgrade Pack, which is also due out in November with a $20 retail price"
