This really shows the difference between gamers with kids and no kids-

I would NEVER allow one of my board games to be played outside on the ground! Too much danger of damage and/or loss!

Agree! I care too much. I get really nervous when people hold their cards in the hand so they get curved. Liquid close to the board makes me nervous too.

It's a different world with kids. It was actually really cool to see them get into it. In the end, no damage was dealt and all pieces were accounted for.

It's a $25 game not a show peice. I will play a game any where people are willing to play and I try to give my kids (6,4, and 2) opportunity's to play as often as possible as many different games as possible. I also enjoying playing outdoors because I enjoy being outdoors and plan to take a few suitable games with me camping next week.

Compared to the fun kids are having with the game, the game seems to me as much more expendable.

I totally agree. Some things are invaluable and priceless. A game (even more so when it's a popular one) can easily be rebought and replaced. Always remember this golden rule about how important are some things:
healthy people > happy people > not-sad people > unique/rare things > replacable things > misc (like petty arguments and nonsensical things)

In your experience which games do you find are most suitable for camping?

Rocketville is great for when you're too lazy to collect firewood.

I think I'd have trouble relaxing if I were playing a game with you.

Hmmmmm.

Well, I can't help but notice I don't see any Kool-Aid glasses and drippy jelly sandwiches next to the game.

I think there is SOME protection of the game condition going on.

I don't let my 2 year old play with my copy of Tide of Iron, but I bring out Tongiaki whenever he asks (and he often asks for the 'boat game').

The games that he loves to play with are:
'Boat Game' aka Tongiaki
'Dice Game' aka Perudo (he loves sorting the dice by colors)
'Balloon Game' aka Balloon cup (he just plays with the colored blocks)
'Bug Game' aka Hive (he likes to chase his parents around with various bugs)

I'm anal with my OOP games, but anything that is easily replaceable I let him play with.

I will be much happier if you give me all your games.
