I think Rodger is great and he is a great guy and designer, but this cover might just be his poorest effort.

Hi Brandon,

As a fellow graphic artist how would you have handled this cover design?

I'm pleased to say the game designer liked the cover design very much :-)

The subject is quite unusual. There is very little visual reference material on this period in India. The background is based on one of the few remaining ruins from the era still standing in India.

Thank you,

Rodger

Hi Rodger, that post sounds a lot snarkier than it was meant to be, I need to learn to be more articulate soblue

I will say that I saw this box the other day in a game store and it does look better in person, I think the cropped nature of this particular image hurts it.

I think my biggest problem with it is the high contrast image of the background. I understand the reason for choosing the image but with is high contrasting surfaces it makes the text very difficult to read, especially the dark red text. Really, that was my only problem with the design, maybe lowering the contrast would have helped a bit, but then you loose the definition.

I know many people liked the cover and probably most do, I guess working as a sign maker for years always makes me cautious of readability.

Sorry for the comment, I need to just keep my trap shut
