It's really hard to find non-pimped Agricola photos on BGG now. I wanted a close up of blue, so I created my own.

You're right about all the pictures on BGG being pimped. When I got the game, my kids saw it and said, "where are the farmer pieces?" I told them to get out the clay and start making them.

Same thing with every game that has miniatures...

It's really hard to find the picture of the actual game insert for Battlelore...

I'm anal about using the right terms to describe games and have posted an alternative glossary to the inconsistent sprawl in BGG's database and lexicon that is clear, accurate and simple. I care big time about my reviews, ratings and comments.

This is my favorite pimped-out set of Agricola.

...oh, these are the components in the box?

Maybe there could be an official "tag" to pictures, one that shows whether pictures are of actual game content or modified/custom content.

Every now and again, I need to search for actual pictures of the game components.

When they're uploaded, they're uploaded as game, people, or custom. In the gallery, choose the game link, and you should get just what's in the box.

I just tried that and it still shows pictures with animeeples. Are the animeeples something you can order extra with agricola, like a super version of agricola? Or are people buying them completely separately through a different company?

As far as I know, you have to buy them separately. Still they are made for Agricola.

It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. And we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

Maybe you're talking about games like Ys, which showed glass gems in the picture on the box but came with wooden cubes inside the same box. yuk

Nice pic.

As mentioned, sadly even with the 'game' setting on the gallery, it can be hard to find fully original game pictures.

I really thought Agricola came with animal figures, glad I didn't order it expecting these!

You can find them from Lookout Games at:

http://lookout-games.de/nachbestellungen/ (though you need to translate the page from German and have them shipped from Germany)

There is also a Wooden Farm Animal Set that can be found here:

Thanks for this picture, it's nice to be able to see the actual game components. Sometimes when I look at the Agricola page I think I am the only person in the world that is perfectly happy with my cubes n' discs.

Fancier stuff would be pretty neat I suppose but my fingers are already clumsy enough. Stacking/moving cubes and discs is very easy for me and I like that about it. When I see animeeples I just imagine the OCD headache I would get making them all stand up, face the same way, etc.

My only complaint about the Agricola components is that it doesn't come with a set of yellow player pieces. For now I am using the plain wood pieces but I may have to rectify this obvious oversight with some spray paint.

Does that count as pimping? laugh
