Great C'thulhu guards the Gates, smiling as each opening Gate brings him closer to piercing the dimensional barriers...

Sauron was not of mortal flesh, he could never again appear fair to the eyes of Men, yet his spirit arose & returned to Mordor. There he dwelt, dark & silent, until he wrought a new guise, an image of malice & hatred made visible; the Eye of Sauron.

One moment only it stared out as from some great window immeasurably high there stabbed a flame of red, the flicker of a piercing Eye. The Eye was not turned on them, it gazed north but Frodo at that dreadful glimpse fell as one stricken mortally.

I'd been looking at buying one of those Cthulhu figures, but I just couldn't justify the purchase. "What would I use this for?" I'd ask myself.

And now I know!

Thanks! C'thulhu threatened to devour me if I snapped a pic, but I promised him I'd make sure to take a photo of his good side.

Strangely, wickedly... adorable. But I have found that often these Cthulhu pictures are best characterized by being adorable? Am I simply blind to my sheer horror, or have I become inured to any terror after so much time playing Arkham and looking at people's creative game images.

Anyone else experience this sensation?

Couldn't I just draw a madness instead? Necrophobia doesn't sound too bad. Or are disallowing Dunwich components?

Play it! It's the best game ever. I posted four other pics that shows the game in all its glory with all expansions in play - take a look and you'll see a lot of gaming goodness!

Exactly the point. You're so insane that you think that the creepy little brain-shaped cardboard bits you've been collecting represent your mental health. You need help, friend

Wait... are you trying to tell me the cards I draw to have encounters aren't real encounters in Arkham but a figment of my imagination at the gaming table?!? *shock*

Well, the Nightmares of Lovecraft series by SOTA toys is somewhat collectible. If you can still manage to find the Cthulhu figure for around MSRP (especially if you find the black varient), then the "justification" is that even if you never get around to using it for anything else, you can at least get your money back on the secondary market even if you took it out of the box.

Assuming it doesn't drive you insane before you get around to selling it.

I have three of the SOTA action figs - Dagon, Cthulhu, and Pickman's Model (missing the black variant Cthulhu which I didn't really like - even though I know it is rarer and therefore $$).

These figures do look amazing, and when standing on the shelf overseeing your game of Arkham Horror they do tend to add a sense of creeping terror to proceedings.

Nice picture.

No kidding!!! The classic Star Wars figs had minimal articulation and GI Joe didn't have kung-fu grip...

I definately need one. I don't play Arkham Asylum, but that figure would look nice perched atop my computer desk, glarring at all who sit there...

It's worth it... I was lucky, I got C'thulhu for 20 bucks at a store that I believe had been trying to get rid of him for 2 years lol

Er, just don't tell C'thulhu that! He just thought people were too scared to buy him...
