Don't wish for it, it's said to be in the 5 most difficult languages of the world. (I can tell, my boyfriend tries it too and we have a lot of fun!)

I think Hungarian gets around the movies. I once read or heard that it was the basis for the Klingon language in Star Trek.

For those curious, I got my Hungarian friend to translate the first two comments:

"All my respect! Very professional. "
" Thanks! I am far from professional, though."

She also says
Quote:
I heard the Star Trek-klingon thing as well before, but I think it is a myth. Some movies and tv shows have weird references to Hungary every once in a while, but I think it has to do with the history in Hollywood (Hungarians running the business there back in the day in the beginning...).

Learn something new every day, eh?! I had no idea about the Hungarian/Hollywood connection...

By the way, this is my new desktop! Love it!

Being that the Terminators are plastic, they are not part of the meeple phylogeny, which is obviously a wooden clade.

Says James Doohan made up some phrases for the first ST movie, then Marc Okrand developed it more fully for ST3, at Nimoy's request. Okrand then later published the Klingon Dictionary in 1985.

Oh, so Klingon is just really mangled Scottish, then? Probably what Doohan sounded like when he was drunk, which was most of the time. whistle
