Can I just point out a new level of awesomeness in this photo, which has hitherto escaped me ... the guy hurrying r-l in a blur in the background is also carrying a 'War on Terror'. It's like we're popular or something.

Just to make things clear for the uninitiated: all the talk about taking a picture of her standing in the locker room and shooting her in the face is of course in referance to her role in Battlestar Galactica.

If you've never watched that show, do it now or crawl under a rock and die.

Finished prematurely? WTFO? They muddled through the last two and a half seasons with no frackin' clue as to what they were going to do. They had to put it out of its misery when they did, or a great show would have become even more terrible than it did.

I'd like to see Obama playing it - since he's pretty much ignoring the real thing, it would show that he at least has an awareness of the situation.

What do you mean he is ignoring "the real thing"? I guess that was clear to somebody else, but I am a little confused by that statement.

Presumably its referring to him waiting to officially receive that Afghan report from McChrystal and thus make a decision (on sending more troops or some other solution), until the most politically expediant time.
I think that report (where the top US/NATO General for the Afghan area requested more troops, and said without them the mission might fail) was submitted two months ago.

Thats what I recall anyway. You can google it up to see.

Anyway, shouldn't this be in RSP?

This is a GREAT pic relating to a GREAT tv series, so why clutter it up?

I'm thinking I should edit my comment and remove this bit, because this part of the post is cluttering it up. Although on the other hand, the game IS titled "war on terror"

Barfal wrote:

If I remember right, it was the writers of the show (not the TV studio) that decided when to end it. They even extended it a bit from what they planned. There were accusations of ending it early so they came out and said they were the ones who decided.

I think Octavian-mod is right to step in here to keep things on track, but it's a difficult one. Personally, I'm interested in these spontaneous discussions springing up, since they're relevant to the game still (as Yargo points out) - just not that relevant to the photo to hand.

Anyway, Joedogboy, you read our mind. We've sent one to Obama. You can read the blog about it here: http://www.terrorbullgames.co.uk/blog/index.php?id=196

Ahem, quite. Now, back to the truly important discussion:

fatetwister64 wrote:

Who shall take up the quest implied by David's comment?

I'm over here on the East Coast and don't go to any cons where there are likely to be BSG actors as guests. Nor do I have any connections of any real sort, so I'll not be able to participate.

Also, what game should be photographed next and are we limiting it to reimagined-BSG or might we be interested in seeing Dirk Bennedict smooching a copy of Descent.

Note: I just looked up Mr. Bennedict and his reaction to the new show, but the image of Dirk Bennedict smooching a boardgame was too funny for me to edit that comment out.

Just so you know: You can't spoil anything that came out in the past. Spoilers relate to inside knowledge of something BEFORE its release. Why should the world walk around on egg shells to suit you?

That's the punishment for not watching it on TV and getting it canceled/finished prematurely due to low ratings. I pity the fool! kiss

Finished prematurely? WTFO? They muddled through the last two and a half seasons with no frackin' clue as to what they were going to do. They had to put it out of its misery when they did, or a great show would have become even more terrible than it did.

That actually seems to happen a lot with american series.

You start watching and get all 'into'it and looking forward to the next series and suddenly it never comes back ever again.
I have this theory the only make enough episodes for one season, look at the ratings and decide if they'l make enoug for next season.

Of course they don't have a clue asto where the series is going to end as they never made that part nor gave it any thought.
If the ratings stay good they are forced to keep things going and going and going.....

I think that's what happend with LOST. I gave up during the first season cause they totaly lost me and I'd be surprised if anyone really knows what it's all about.

Asfor Galactica, they did the same thing, suddenly it disappeared.
Well I only watched it for the sexy cyborgs anyway, but still, I imagine they had no clue where they were going with that.

ahwell at least it left us with a (I'm told) great game
