I hope the box art doesn't reflect the interior art. The anime Strahd is not quite what I was hoping for.

There will be a lot of TSR Nostalgists (is that a word?) going for this title and some of the classic artwork from the original modules definitely wouldn't go astray.

That is not anime is it? I like the old school classic art and I think this is good. I don't care for anime, managa, or the gaudy Warcraft art. BTW, if you want good art in a fantasy game, Check out Defenders of the Realm, which has Larry Elmore. True classic fantasy art of top quality. Should be released in 2010.

I don't know. WoTC fans, sure. TSR nostalgists, not so sure.

Ravenloft is my fav D&D setting behind Greyhawk, and I dont think the pic is that bad. In fact, I quite like it.

Its definitely comic book inspired no doubt, but the composition is good even if you dont like the aesthetics.

I eagerly anticipate this game and it has been on my BGG wishlist for sometime now. I may even be more excited for this than I was about space hulk. Given my absolute fanboy attitude towards space hulk, thats saying something.

Thanks for the pic!

While the art here is quite good and dynamic, I would have preferred the original module I6 cover by Clyde Caldwell. That image has remained in my psyche as what the ultimate vampire would look like... cool, suave, elegant and a sense of dark power combined with supreme intelligence.

Still, this game would be like a long forgotten dream come true. It even supports solo play! Hallelujah!

The original module had one of the best cover arts ever. The WoTC one looks like a Disney cartoon by comparison, and shall forever be known to me as "That's so Ravenloft!"

The original would be best, but considering the art from Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, this is far from the worst depiction of the count, and a definite step in the right direction.

I got to play this game at Gen-Con it was very boring. To say the least. This game is a gate way thing for 4ed D&D and it take way too long to play. Each turn took way to long the min where cool, but out side of that I would say make your own rules up and play the game with those rules. Instead. So have a nice day.
