What keeps on amazing me about CoH is that if you would rotate just one board or put the victory points in a different building in the village, you would get an entirely different situation!

It's true! And I didn't even put on any of the terrain cut-outs... they alone add near-infinite variability!

Haha. I'm not sure even 12 hours would do it if we used enough counters to really give all these boards good coverage. Any of the official 4 player firefights I've tried have all taken several hours (perhaps my friends are just slow)... something like this could take days to finish! Perhaps we'd need to make it an 8 player firefight, spread around the actions a bit.
