2 Plays, testing specific setups from the Expansion. We found that, indeed, one of the cards made for a no-fun game of catchup, and the pain needs to be adjusted down for that card.

Game two for the night... Jason & Rick vs. Linda & Noreen.
Linda & Noreen started off well, with another Opening hand Tichu, but then had trouble finding points for a while. Meanwhile, Jason and Rick went on a tear in hands 5-8 getting 2 Tichus, and 2 Slams. the ladies inched closer in hand 9 with their second Tichu, but a point-split of 80-20 in hand 10 gave the win to the boys, 1055-545

In a close-fought game, the final few points are always closely fought over. I overheard Bob claim that carol cost him the win with her tile placement on a truck he wanted.

4-Player
The game was fairly close, and offered relatively little blocking. A small blunder towards the end of the game allowed Dave the chance to score "Genial"in all 6 colors to win with the final piece placement.

One of our favorites of the past year, RftG is played frequently due to it's great time to weight ratio. it is fast to play, but offers deep strategies and significant choices.

A brilliant and beautiful game, it is one of brinkmanship and usurping territory though clever play. It took us some time to get through the rules, for while we had played before, it had been some time.
Jason played very well, saving his walls and stables until the time was ripe to steal the tower chips, and he had more than his share of colored places bonuses as well.
Scores: Jason: 50 Laura: 39 Eric: 34 Dave: 30

Rick & Leslie Vs. Noreen & Linda
Noreen and Linda started off with a made Tichu, but the early jump in point disintegrated around hand 3 as Rick and Leslie responded in kind. A Tichu in hand 6, followed by Tichu Slam in hand 7 put Rick and Leslie on top 765-435. Linda and Noreen responded with 2 Slams in the next 4 hands, as well as a missed Tichu, to put them less than 50 points back. In the final hand, they made their own Tichu Slam to win 1165 to 935. Excellent game all around, and much closer than the score makes it appear.

A six player game of Fluxx with the Zombie theme. this meant the players ran about alot, and with some heavy rules changes early, the game state shifted often. Andrew was able to manage the win with the "I Alone Survive" goal when Larry the Zombie moved to Carol (giving all the players zombies), and the Sound Emitter kept his zombies from counting against him, while he had both the car and the gas in play.

A six-player contest in a game with a theme centered on the tale of Hans Christian Anderson's Little Mermaid... It is a weird theme, and one that can be a bit off-putting, but the game play is mostly about making the best poker hand you can in several rounds of card drafting...
Scores: Nathaniel: 57 Jason: 56 Laura: 54 Eric: 48 Bob: 46 Leslie: 40

4-player, with the "Through the Seasons" expansion & the K-deck...
The Through the Seasons expansion made for some interesting choices and options during the game, though in truth we all often forgot that the option to play on the card itself was available.
David scored well with some cards that helped a plow/sow/bread strategy, and timely house-building. Rick had excellent scoring cards, fields and crops but lost ground on empty spaces, stables, and animals. Carol scored well for her fields and crops, but lost ground on her animals, home, and cards. Eric had an abundance of animals and pastures, but his crops and fields suffered, and his board had many empty spaces.
Scores: Dave: 60 (3/4/3/3/2/3/3/3/8/15/5/8/0) Rick: 53 (4/4/4/-1/1/2/2/3/8/15/6/11/-3) Carol: 34 (3/3/4/2/1/-1/-1/0/4/12/3/5/-1) Eric: 31 (-1/1/-1/2/4/1/2/1/6/15/4/4/-7)
