Martin is a proposal writer by day and an award-winning small-press publisher, author, and GMing blogger by night.
He runs and contributes to the game mastering blog Gnome Stew, which he co-founded in 2008 with a team of veteran GMs. In 2009, he founded Engine Publishing, which has published six books to date: Focal Point: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Running Extraordinary Sessions, Unframed: The Art of Improvisation for Game Masters, Odyssey: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Campaign Management, Never Unprepared: The Complete Game Master's Guide to Session Prep, Masks: 1,000 Memorable NPCs for Any Roleplaying Game, and Eureka: 501 Adventure Plots to Inspire Game Masters.
Martin was a freelance writer for the RPG industry from 2004 to 2009, with 25 credits from Paizo Publishing, Goodman Games, and many other publishers. Prior to starting Gnome Stew, he wrote the GMing blog Treasure Tables from 2005 to 2007.
His work and the books he publishes have won and been nominated for a number of industry awards.
